Hi! Very honest and thorough...thanks! I have a T@B 400 and have the same issues with the screens. I attempted to add more bug fuzz, but it impedes the smooth opening and closing. I think the best feature is the size because, like you, I am comfortable getting gas in most places; it is also less catastrophic when Google Maps starts having fun. I look forward to learning about your RV search. Have fun!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. We did not record much of the search, but do have a video coming out soon that talks about what we did. We like the Tab 400's. We think they are both great options. Cheers!
I love my LGM! I haven't had any water leak issues, but the screens are trashed after some heavy wind. The stargazer window screen is completely useless now, and the blockout screen is really hard to open and close, but usable. I agree about the black tank. I ended up purchasing a Rhino 15 gallon portable holding tank. That really extends our boon docking. It also make our trips to a beachfront campsite in Mexico a lot better. Its a boon dock camp but they have a dump station, now I don't have to hook up the trailer every two days to empty it! I just empty it into the Rhino and dump that.
Have you had a chance to get inside one. Sit on the bed. Sit in the dinette.. Walk into the bath. Walk around it. Sometimes just being there can make a huge difference. That is how we felt when we first walked into the LIttle Guy. Made all the difference. We denied our true wants for several months and finally gave in and got the little guy! Good luck with your research!
Definitely pros and cons with a smaller unit. Pros definitely ability to go to more remote places and then the con of not having enough tank capacity to stay there very long. We toured one a couple weeks ago and were impressed with how much they put in such a small footprint !
Yeah, They have really done a great job with this trailer. There are some ways to expand the Black tank capacity that we looked at. Mainly, getting a secondary ticket to dump into. Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting! Cheers!
I have a Sailboat with a mini-Kitchen, and to keep the drawers shut, I put Heavy Duty Magnets in each corner. Now it takes a bit of Muscle to open them.
Thank you….that leaks just scares me I wonder if this is a problem for all Little MaXX… I was wanting to purchase one of these…now I guess I will research a fiberglass one
You're right about those gas stations. We love that Amish construction. That outdoor TV is pretty cool. We were amazed at all the storage in a T@b 400 as well. We didn't like the dinette in the tab either.
Yeah, it is amazing how close the Little Guy and the Tab 400 have in common and where they differ! There is no good solution for those tables that we have seen.
Loved your video and content. I had to purchase my first in a hurry (unplanned) and so got a 32' LX prowler by heartland. I really like it. It is perfect for immediate needs, however, I had originally planned on getting a truck and some thing more like yours. There is definitely a learning curve, no matter what travel trailer/RV one purchases. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for your kind words! Yeah, we looked at the LGM first, then looked at a lot of different trailers. We eventually came back to the LGM! It was a very new world for RB. We are both glad we did the LGM! We have had a lot of fun with it!
good info. Im looking for my first rig with the expectation of buying in the fall of '23. One thing that I am finding that is shocking to me is how poorly made all trailers are. I dont mean poorly designed, I mean sloppily executed. This even goes for pre-pandemic units. Then at the sames point the prices they request, with a straight face, no less. But it also goes both ways. In various owner groups Im finding a shocking number of people dont inspect the rig thoroughly before accepting it. Glaringly obvious defects. and not just newbie trailer owners...veterans often posting "OMG look at this!" ...and you took it home like that? There is a shift though. Im seeing used trailers sit for weeks without selling at the prices the owner is requesting. the days of inflated sales prices are fast waning.
yeah, we felt that the LGM was a well built trailer and higher quality then most on the market, but we still had build issues with it. They did not properly seal the floor to the wheel well and water would come into the trailer when it was raining while driving. You do get some time to walk through the trailer as they are showing you all the systems, but they do tend to rush you a bit. Even with a very detailed inspection, I would never have thought to check to seem between the trailer floor and the wheel well. No easy way to get behind the cabinets. The state of the RV industry is very interesting. It has changed a lot in a few short years! What brands/models/trailers are you looking at? I encourage you to look at a lot of trailers. Don't settle and player dealerships off each other. We spent 6 months looking at everything from tiny trailers to Class B's and Class Cs. Every time we went to a dealership, we learned something new. Cheers and good luck!
Great video...we just did a quick review of our 2017 Cornerstone..not a little guy...more like a big monster :-) Hope all is well with you folks. Stuart and Missy and the 3 doggies.
Great overview. Nice to show both the good and bad. The RV industry needs to be held to higher standards and video like this will expose it. Of course it's all RV's not just yours. Overall I do like the Little Guy. Learned a lot on this one. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, there are a few brands that focus on quality and we really like those! The RV industry is crazy right now. They are trying to pump out as many as they can. Weeding through the selection to find good ones is time consuming. There are trade offs when many rigs, finding the right mix of quality and amenities that have negatives that are not important to the buyer is interesting. Thank you so much for commenting!
That is great to hear! We switched away from the Little Guy to another trailer, but still have good memories of our time with the trailer and highly recommend it to people! Enjoy your adventures! Thanks for stopping by to say hello!
I like the way it looks from the outside and the layout inside. The windows are great, though the numerous, large clips/handles detract from the view. I dislike how small the freezer is. I mostly need a freezer, rarely use my fridge at home. Ugh, hearing there are leaks is very concerning.
The leaks are easier to deal with when you first get it so you can fix them. The freezer is bigger than it seems, but it is still smaller than a home. We loved our little guy. Lots to do and easy to tow. Good luck!
Thanks for your review. We are looking at an opportunity to purchase a 2018 in private transaction. This will help us know what to look at ask questions. Thanks
Good luck! Hope it works out! Might also look at seals around outside fixtures to see if it needs to be reapplied Also the metal under-frame for any rust. Look at the wood cabinets near the floor for watch damage as well as the compartment where the water pump is located. Thanks for commenting!
I have a 2020 Max through Xtreme Outdoors. My biggest complaint is not on your list. It is bed orientation. I love that we have an 80 inch bed, but my wife and I do not sleep in it together on the road. We leave the dinette in the bed position and she sleeps there. It is difficult at our age to climb over each other to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Enjoy original YT; don't own a tear drop but instead own a Grand Design " Imagine "'22 mle . Which in comparison is large TT yet by industry standards consider small lol Wife ask me today why have you been watching Tiny tear drops TT vids: I replied perhaps we should have went smaller. Congrats on your new trailer! We liked our little trailer. We did end up upgrading to a bit larger. We are still under 26 feet. HAHA. I am always joking with LeeAnn that we need a bigger trailer. Thanks for dropping by and commenting! Cheers!
@@AFKDays I did some research and found a factory tour on UA-cam. The floor is wood, which is a shame. Tab 400 is all composition floor and side walls.
It was splashing up from around the wheel wells. We had camped in the rain and does great as long as you don't tow anywhere. The fix is not bad, just kind of hard to get to and not knowing if you need it.
Can anyone offer information about the security of it. Also, can you park it and drive your vehicle to the store or an attraction? Forgive me, but I am just beginning this journey. Thank you
It is a great little trailer. Just be aware. There are fixes you can do for it. But many people don't know what to look for. Don't want to scare you away from it. just be aware. Cheers!
We own a Little Guy Mini Max 2021 and we had a little issue with the pump leaking but it was very fixable. The roof and walls of the trailer including the bathroom are so well made and we have never had any leaks other than the one time with the pump. It's a very well made trailer for the most part. I think leaks scare people away because they are imagining the frame/roof/walls leaking and that is far more serious than a pump leak.
They used to come with two tvs. I think they reduced it down to one now. We cocked the heck out of the wheel wells and under the door area. That seemed to help! If you take the bottom drawer off the kitchen, stick your hand where the wheel well meets the floor. That is where I found the leak.

I have a 21 gallon Rhino and it can get pretty heavy when full. 15 gallon sounds pretty ideal.
I have had 2 conventional travel trailers plus a big 5th wheel and truck. I always like the tear drop trailers.
yeah, sometimes it is easiier to go smaller. It is nice to have the option. thanks for commentiing!

What is the base flooring material made of? Is it wood, composite, fiberglass?
Not really sure. The cabinets are wood. I would guess somewhere between wood and composite.
@@AFKDays I did some research and found a factory tour on UA-cam. The floor is wood, which is a shame. Tab 400 is all composition floor and side walls.
So was the water coming in from the ceiling seams or splashing up underneath into the cabinets?

I like the LGM better than the Tab. It is laid out better in my opinion. If I could, I would get a LGM.😊
We agree. It is the little things that LG did over the tab! They have several smaller models that are interesting. Cheers!

Can you go into how you fixed the leaks, please?
We own a Little Guy Mini Max 2021 and we had a little issue with the pump leaking but it was very fixable. The roof and walls of the trailer including the bathroom are so well made and we have never had any leaks other than the one time with the pump. It's a very well made trailer for the most part. 2 TV? Did you or the previous owner add that on? The leak story was not good! How was that rectified?
They used to come with two tvs. I think they reduced it down to one now. We cocked the heck out of the wheel wells and under the door area. That seemed to help! If you take the bottom drawer off the kitchen, stick your hand where the wheel well meets the floor. That is where I found the leak.
@@AFKDays Go figure they would remove the second TV. 🤦♀️ It would’ve been nice to have 2.

They are made up north. Not sure if they are in Canada, but worth finding one. Might want to add some insulation just to be extra warm.
There is a lot I could deal with in an RV, but leaks would not be one of them.
yeah, it can be a mess. We did learn that if you suspect a leak, you need to chance it down quickly. If too much damage happens, it can be rough.
Can you tell me where I can buy one of dose
We really like Princess craft RV in round rock, Texas. We have seen them at other places too! Good luck!
