There are so many moments in our lives where we’re faced between serving ourselves or serving others, and many times, to get what we want, we may tend towards deception to achieve it. In this video, Deceit returns and presents his case for why we shouldn’t inhibit these tendencies, and Thomas has a conflict of conscience! Hope you enjoy the turmoil that ensues!

honestly I love the little details, when Deceit is disguised as Logan, he:
1.was wearing the wrong tie
2. stood up from bending over at the side, trying to make it look like he rose up
3. was also slightly wobbly
4. yelled "LIES" instead of "FALSEHOOD"
5. said "I, the brilliant Logan" which seemed really out of character

Well, as we see, Deceit is less just being dishonest, more just self interest and self preservation.
I love how Deceit then starts pushing Virgil about how reluctant he was to share his name. As the audience when this video came out, we assumed it was due to how big of a moment it was for Virgil and that he didn't like Deceit mentioning it for his own gain. But then we hit the current timeline and realise that Virgil was terrified that if Deceit continued down that path, he might also reveal that Virgil was originally a Dark Side and the Thomas in this video did not know that information at the time.

My theripist is encouraging me to watch these and actually assigned this episode to me as a homework assignment. Thomas is really helping people. She's gonna start reccomending this series to her other clients as well.

Just throwing this out there: If one of my friends passed up an opportunity like that to attend my wedding, even though they didn't really want to, I would be horrified. In this hypothetical situation, I'd likely stay married for some time after the wedding--it's not like it's a one-time-only opportunity to celebrate my marital status. They could come by for cake and sentiment some other time. Not a big deal.
that's what I'm saying!!! I totally agree! It's definitely a situation where you just talk to your friends and tell the truth! Nothing against the video but it kind of makes the only two options lie, or force yourself to go quietly, which is just not the only two options at all.

I cannot believe it's taken me this long to realize that the reason Virgil didn't answer the question here, (19:46) is because he doesn't want to go to the wedding either, as Thomas' anxiety. and being honest about Thomas' norepinephrine levels (which is a hormone that plays an important role in the body's "fight or flight" response) would reveal that.

Technically, Remus didn't stay as long as Deceit. So, Virgil got what he wanted.

Deceit getting more and more pissed off with the others is one of the most entertaining things ever. I genuinely think that he's the only competent side.
It's crazy that despite literally being the personification of deceit, alot of what Deceit says rings true. Even his small jab, "It's so cool how you never listen to Roman." Ends up getting proven shortly after when Patton chastises Roman for supposedly wanting Thomas to lie, even though he actually was offended that Thomas thought that going to the callback was not a good enough reason to miss the wedding.

However I'm gonna go full Logan here...
There is always at least some psychological affect when someone either compliments or insults you. No matter how much you "Don't care" there will always be some affect, if someone says they like your shirt you will probably wear it more because your brain has naturally associated compliments with happiness and therefore your shirt with happiness. Making you automatically choose it out. Therefore it is impossible to be not be affected by other people.
Anyone who has a proper logical contradiction for this (Not just some made up fact) go ahead and tell me! I'm eager to hear constructive criticism and improve.

I don‘t know why but this is my favourite episode. I rewatched this so many times and I still skip backwards a lot because I appreciate the puns, the jokes, the scenary, the mimic of the characters and the characters dynamics. I love this episode.

Well Virgil doesn’t like them because they are trying to get him back onto the “dark side”. Remus is technically allowed to stay as long as he decides. Also, I think that deceit’s real name should just be deceit xd. I know it sounds weird but I think it’s a great name for him xd. Unless you wanna name him snake? Nope, I think deceit is better..yeah
Deceit was there because Patton was lying.
Patton created two different dilemmas (honesty vs lying and right vs wrong) to conflate with and distract from the real dilemma (selfishness vs selflessness) because Patton didn't want to reveal that he believed Thomas was amoral for wanting things. Patton is also the one who defined the parameters and terms during the trial and played dumb to keep everyone using those definitions for his benefit.
Deceit wasn't calling attention to Patton's apparent incompetence to be malicious, he was calling attention to it because Patton uses it to control discussions.
