In my experience, it seems like younger biologists (less than 35) very rarely manages to retain their job for more than a few years before they apply for another. Not because they were laid off, but rather because of how the workload looks like - Biotechnology and microbiology are extremely repetitive, you follow the same workflow, which is standardised. Everyday looks like the last day, or the day before that, or in a month or even years ahead. Some new methodologies or assays may change and that's the only source of variation. While a green oriented job, which is far more difficult to get as only a few positions are available at any given moment will in many cases last a lifetime. I do field work during late spring, the entire summer and early fall, while the rest of year i do lab work and bioinformatics. A perfect mix, so you never get bored, always something to look forward to!
Are you a zoologist? I want to learn more, and take guidance from you. Can you share your email or Instagram ID or any means through which I can contact you? It would be really helpful. I am not getting a proper guide.

Sir I think if you are from classical biology you can manage the things to be settled in any of the field, suppose if you are doing msc zoology then it will not be difficult for you to understand biotechnology or molecular biology, because these are already a part of zoology syllabus while on the other hand if you ask a biotechnologist to join zoology as a part of new project it will be difficult for him restudy animals and all. Few qts sir, .... 1) Where is the more job scope in west bengal ? In BAMS or BSc microbiology 2) which is better to study Bsc microbiology or zoology ( though u hv told applied is better) 3) After doing Bsc microbiology, can a student study Msc Zoology in west bengal?
1) BAMs of course 2) I'd say bsc zoology. There's not much job in microbiology even if people say you so. Only 2lpa kind of jobs you'll get which you'll end up resigning. 3) No you can't take msc zoology after studying bsc microbiology So my suggestion would be to have as many options in your hand as possible. Taking bsc microbio or biotech will lead to closing the path of taking msc zoology or botany. But if you take the mother subjects of zoology and botany in bsc then you'll still be able to take msc microbiology later. So the scope you'll have will obviously be more.
