    I am seeing very few birds here in Ludington MI. I am in the process of trying to attract them. Great video. Good info. Thank you

    Thank you for all this information. What would be the shelf life of the suet? Also how long should I keep the suet once I placed it outdoors? I do not want to cause any harm to the birds, so it is better to ask before spreading bacteria or diseases.

    Very nice!! We have a tons of species here in S.E. Tennessee. Red Bellied Woodpecker, tons of Cardinals, Eastern Towhees, Finches, Doves, Sparrows, Titmice and Chickadees. They've gotten very used to us. We really love them all. The Hawks....a love/hate relationship I'd say. Beautiful but certainly deadly. Thanks for the great video!!

    I have put out clean feeders with fresh seed...different types of seed plus suet and some on the ground. Birdfeeders are at different levels.
    Problem is the people who lived here before us never put out birdfeeders.
    I am trying to be patient but how do I get the birds to come to my yard. I really miss watching the birds.

      Hi Shari, How long have you had the new feeders out? It can take a few weeks+ for the birds to start coming to find your feeders. It usually starts out with just a few birds and eventually more and more join in.

    Hi there, thanks for the receipt. Can you use raw coconut oil instead of lard?

    • @sarettnaturecenter5091
      @sarettnaturecenter5091  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, coconut oil would be a great vegan option and is safe for birds.

    I am here to tell you that after a couple of days starlings have no problem whatsoever feeding upside down. I don't know where that old wive's tale came from but it is totally inaccurate! A true bird authority should know this.

    I heard that people-peanut butter is bad for birds! Please no bacon grease for the birds, too many preservatives! Also, microwaving plastic releases BPAs?

    • @sarettnaturecenter5091
      @sarettnaturecenter5091  3 роки тому +5

      As long as you use a peanut butter without preservatives (natural or organic would be best) then people peanut is okay for birds. Yes, bacon grease would not be a good option. Beef or pork lard, and even coconut oil are better options. Glass would be a great alternative to plastic. Thanks for your comment!
