I know, right? All the electronics I designed in my career is probably obsolete now, and this one simple video is living on as my lasting contribution to society. I didn't see that coming...
What a star you are Sir! I took ours apart and the blade sprung out before I had a chance to see what went where and I couldn’t for the life of me work out how to reconnect the spring. You video was so clear and concise I realised I was trying to fit it on the wrong side of the blade. I have tested said clippers and they now work beautifully. Thank you so much. 👏❤️
Searched for 40 mins... watched a bunch of useless videos. At that point I was about the throw the damn clipper against the wall, but then I found this video. Not only did it help put the clipper back together, your voice calmed down my nerves. You could read me a bedtime story ANYTIME!! :) Thanks!!!
It's not the clipper that I have but I am with Alexandra, you can read me a bedtime story anytime. Your voice in real calming. I will listen just cuz! Thanks and add more videos anytime.
I gave up on fixing my clippers after taking them apart to clean them two years ago. I watched your video apart, reassembled it, and it's good as new. Thank you!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Saved my life when I took blade off to clean excess hair out. I would have never figured out reassembly without this. You're the best!!
Thank you!! Very well explained! I took mine apart to clean and I thought, after, it was supposed to be at zero point or in other words, the blades had to be even. I immediately regret taking it apart to clean until I reached this video to put it back together.
My husband threw away a clipper a few years ago for this exact reason. Yesterday my son dismantled the new one to clean and after an hour of cursing and frustration we found your video. Our set up was slightly different, but the spring was the issue THANK YOU!!!
Just fixed with my Surker clippers thanks to you! That note about the groove for the spring saved my butt. Thank you for showing this guide because otherwise I'd have been forced to get new ones. Saving me money, time and peace of mind!
@@andycivil It absolutely does! Whether positive or negative, an interaction is an interaction. Yeah many brands are built similar enough to cross-reference it seems. Even basic Amazon brands nobody has heard of will have a similar enough engineering behind them. As a novice when it comes to certain repairs such as this, it is highly frustrating and your explanations made a major difference. To hopefully help others, I've added this video to my publicly available DIY playlist so that hopefully others may see your video and hopefully help others as it helped me. Have a wonderful rest of your night sir!
I know this was from 2 years ago, but this was amazingly helpful. I have a Wahl trimmer but couldn't find *anything* to help me with mine. Last ditch effort watched yours and it was exactly what I needed. The info on the spring, and the detail you put into it made the reassembly possible, because I was ready to give up and buy a new one! Thank you!!
Your video was THE ONLY ONE that actually showed me how to put the plastic piece and springs back together!!! Short, straight and right to the point!!!
Bro, I cannot thank you enough for this video, especially the fact that you re did it in a much clearer quality! it totally showed me what I did wrong when I tried to reassemble it the first time and after it made a "Hey! I'm not installed correctly" horrible sound. Lol. I had the little black piece that snaps into the black blade upside down! Seriously though after watching your video I took it apart and reassembled it per your video instructions within 2 minutes! Thank you again!
I was facing problem in fixing trimmer and searched lot of videos but not able to fix it. After viewing your video I fix my trimmer in five minutes. Thanks a lot.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You’re an absolute life saver! I bought a razor today, once I put the batteries in I realized it wasn’t working. I unscrewed my razor and everything popped out, I did not expect it. I had been trying for 1 hour trying to get everything back in but I couldn’t figure it out. Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. After struggling for quite a bit to put it together and kicking myself for not noting how it fit together beforehand, I finally looked up a video on how to do this. I was able to get it done really quickly from watching this. Thank you!
Thank you! You saved me...it is always getting something apart easier than putting it back together. I watched 1 minute and 36 seconds of your video and voila! my reassembly was a breeze!
When I looked for help with my friend's and couldn't find any, I thought that I should make a video when I'd worked it out. It seemed like the makers deliberately didn't tell you how to do this. I was hoping it would be popular, but I had no idea how astonishingly useful it would be. I look at the views, and I try to imagine all those people, like, in a stadium, watching me.
Was literally about to throw my clippers away because I thought I broke em’, followed the instructions and now they’re buzzin’ again! Life Saver And Well Spoken; Keep The Content Coming G’ 💫
Thanks for the video! Had to give my husband his 10th quarantine haircut & took apart the clippers, just to realize my baby brain got the best of me & I forgot where everything went!! You’re awesome!
Thanks so much for posting this video. I took my clippers apart a few months ago and I couldn't remember how the spring was supposed to be positioned. Now, my hair is on point and all is well with the world.
Watched so many videos. Finally found this one and understood where to place the spring. It was difficult to keep it in place but at least I somehow ended up fixing it. Hats off to you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You got right to it, were clear and simple, have a pleasant and calming voice, and had resolved my hours worth of frustration in minutes.
Took a set of clippers apart that I had bought at Aldi, and they were built like these. Thank you for the tutorial sir, I was this close to just buying a new one.
I had a basic wahl hair trimmer that someone gave me. 4 years or so ago. And just about a month ago the cutter comb assembly needed to be put back on the trimmer. And girl. I ended up doing the same thing. Couple explicit words expressed and across the room into the brick fireplace mantle stopped its flight through the air. Lol Just got a new conair brand corded electric hair cutter.
Thank you for this video!!! I happen to have a Wahl brand trimmer. Model MIS. The pieces are a little bit different but the overall concept of the blades being spring loaded is completely accurate. I was getting ready to throw this trimmer away and buy another one. You saved me some bucks today!
I don't even have Conair, I have a Wahl and couldn't find anything that addressed the issue with the springs. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll make sure everyone who owns a Wahl sees this video!
Thanks For this video....I opened it to clean it...I couldn't put it back x 1 month...watching many videos and still couldn't do it...until I saw your video...finally I fix it..thanks so much....
Thank you, Andy! This was super helpful. The first ten seconds had me cracking up "you've turned to UA-cam for help." Yup lol. What did people do before YT? Now I know why people are cursing the spring part in the comments. I assembled it wrong twice, and the clipper made a terrifyingly loud noise. But I finally got it! Conair really should make cleaning this easier.
Thank you! Yours was the only helpful info out there. I just successfully reassembled it! Mine isn't even the same model, and the parts look far different, but your details about those holes and springs, then showing the angle and direction to attach and to bend them made it all possible. Thank you so much!
Thank you a lot! Explanation helped me to understand how to assemble completely different model, which I disassembled by mistake. It was quite a puzzle, and your explanations were the key.
thank you, thank you, thank you - I have been struggling to reassemble the blade and spring for nearly 2 days; I didn't know about the 2 sneaky little holes either.
OH MY GOD thank you so much dude, I just finally after an hour of trying to reassemble this I was able to pull it on. This thing is from my dad and he would kill me if it didn't work properly.
I'll add my thanks. My Conair isn't the exact same but simply pointing out the spring ends connect to the plastic blade holes (which I missed reassembling myself) helped turn the clippers from useless to working again. Bless you!

I would like to say thank you for the instructions on this topic. Thank you for making this, I took mine apart for a cleaning thinking it would be an easy reassemble then the spring tripped me up and I was like...I'll have to consult youtube for help now.
I didn’t know that once I had put the spring attachment onto the little blade that I had to push it down for it to be able to to the big blade to be able to be set in place for the screws to be able to hold it in place until I saw this. Incredibly detailed video and give this 5 out of 5. Wouldn’t be able to have put my clippers back together without it.

Thanks very much! After dropping my hairclipper in a basin of water (fortunately the wall switch was off) I opened it to dry it out. The spring fell out and I couldn't see how to put it back together. Even with your wonderful video it took me a while to work out how to fix the spring in place. There was also a spongy black piece of soft plastic fibre with a hole in it that you didn't mention. I eventually guessed that before fitting the spring I should stuff this inside the hairclipper, with the hole fitiing over the actuator. Like a miracle the haircutter now works as well as before.
Hi Andycivil. When I removed the second screw from the base blade of my Conair razor, the devilish spring blew up both blades and the plastic base. Great video. Spent ages trying to put my clippers together. Watched video and saw where I was going wrong. Still took a while, but at least I could see how I had to do it.
Who is the person we owe credit to for this genius design. So we know who to throw these clippers at. Another prime example of big fixing things that are not broken! Bravo to the next generation of taking tools from the past that are built to last & turning them into sh it that's not even worth the time to waste on.
I hear your frustration! But realistically, I don't see anything wrong with the design. When you consider that many models assemble the same way (you can tell that, from the comments here) it may even be the most logical design. What you could criticize though, is the lack of any reassembly instructions included in the user manual. It's almost as though they don't want you to figure it out.
5 years later and you still out here saving lives ,thanks for this video

Thank you for your video, you saved me money by explaining on how it's put together, God bless Brother
Thank you ' I was stuck and didnt know how to fix my clipper ' ur video saved me 😂😂
Yes, Thank you for the Video, After hours of trying fit the spring and blade together I was ready to chuck the trimmer away, Thank you
Thank you. The spring kicks me one hour off to put it back. This video save my rest time
THANK YOU! took it apart to clean and got absolutely lost when I went to put it back together
I was about to give up on this and the key as you said was on those springs even if they were a bit different to mines, I got the trick and now they work as they did before. Thanks a lot.
Great video. Spent ages trying to put my clippers together. Watched video and saw where I was going wrong. Still took a while, but at least I could see how I had to do it.
Wow, I struggled for a couple of days without watching the video. Thank you for the video.
