I just visited the Ark Encounter yesterday. No matter how you believe, you have to admit that this is a very amazing exhibit! This is a must see! You can not appreciate the size of it until you are there. It can be seen from at least 2 miles away. I made a video of it.

A problem that I'm seeing with people on here stating there was plenty of room on the ark for the animals as well as a years worth of supplies is that if you consider the volume required to hold the food compared to the volume of the ark, there is no way it could do it. Looking this all up, an elephant (assuming this might be the animal that eats the most, not counting any sauropods for those people that believe dinosaurs were on the ark) eats between 200-600 lbs of food a day so we can use the average of 400. I'm guessing Noah wasn't all about offering a lot of variety to the animals diet, so if we just settle on some kind of hay, an average 16"x18"x48" (8 cubic feet) square bale weighs around 100 lbs (square bales so it uses the available volume the most efficiently). So thats 4 bales a day for each elephant. Thats 32 cubic feet a day for food for just one elephant. Multiply by 365 days and thats 11680 cubic feet of space required. Multiply by 2 to account for the other elephant and we have 23,360 cubic feet. Now the ark was said to be approximately 450'x45'x75' in size, so if we consider it a rectangular prism and conveniently ignore that some of this volume would be lost due to the curvature of the bottom of the ship, the narrowing at the front, space occupied by internal structure and reinforcement, etc, we have a volume of 1518750 cubic feet. This may seem like a lot of space but the volume required just for the 2 elephants' food represents 1.54% of the total available volume of the ark. That may not seem like a significant number but that is a huge portion for just 2 of the many animals that are reported to have been on the ark. There doesn't seem to be any consistent answer as to how many animals were on the ark but I've seen a lot of comments about it being around 16000 pairs. So if .00625% of the animals require 1.54% of the available volume just for their food, there clearly will be some issues accommodating all the rest (the ark could not have carried enough food for just 65 pairs of elephants). Now I know people will claim that the animals could all have been really young, or that not every animal eats as much as an elephant, but remember, these calculations give an idealized volume to the ark, don't account for the volume that the animals will physically occupy, and don't account for the amount of freshwater required to have been stored as well. In case you are curious, If I had considered a sauropod dinosaur its about 1000 lbs of food a day so it comes out to be 3.8% of the total volume just for 1 pair of animals. The food for 26 pairs of sauropods would be pushing the ark to its limits.
You're missing one key factor. The bible says two of each kind. It dosent have to be a full grown African Elephant or a full grown Sauropod dinosaur. It was likely the smallest breed of that kind of animal and a juvenile. Smaller, eats less and it ready to reproduce right after the flood and has many reproductive years left.

It was great seeing a "life-size" Ark with the dimensions as stated in the Bible. Pretty awe-inspiring. I don't get why people are against it though. I'm really glad Ken Ham took the risk to build it, and it's definitely a sight to behold. I recommend going there if you have the chance.

But that doesn't mean the water got that high. That means the area was once under water before it was shoved skyward by tectonic plates crashing together. Geologists insist at one time there was only one continent called Pangea. For the continents to be separated as they are today, there had to be some tremendous forces at work. There are ocean trenches as deep as the highest of mountains. That is physical evidence.

They also teach agricultural skills. Organizations like Voice of the Martyrs, Servants of the Persecuted Church assist political refugees. Many, many churches have homeless and battered women's shelters, soup kitchens, and free clothing shops
We know the biblical flood never occurred, because there were great civilizations thriving during that time. They kept records, and neglected to mention that they were all wiped from the face of the earth. The Chinese, neolithic dynasty. The Egyptians, Dynasties 4, 5 & 6. Mesopotamians. Sumerians, Dynastics llla & lllb. Peruvians, Notre Chico Civilization. To name but a few. We find a continuous line of culture, construction, art and historical records that run through the time noahs flood was supposed to have happened.

It bugs me when everyone says that there were only 2 of each animal. When I read the Bible I don't see that. The way I read it there are at least two pairs of unclean animals and 7 pairs of clean ones. Anyone else read this? Maybe they need to revise the actual size of the ark.

First , the rudder is way to small compared to the size of the ship. You would need an '' extremely'' heavy load at the bottom center of the boat. Actually we do a lot for the homeless already, however, we can not focus all our time on the homeless, rather this is great because it not only shows the misconceptions about the Ark, and they tell the Salvation message which is far greater then food/drink. It's eternal food and drink for everyone. Helping the homeless is great, but if thats all your doing is to feed the hungry then all your doing is sending them to hell on a full stomach. People need the Gospel of Christ Jesus in order to have living eternal life which is what the Ark is all about.

Those are all really great things, however, they only really satisfy temporal issues. Again, I think they are all great for humanity of all races/beliefs and as Christians we are called to help those in need as we do. We are also called to preach the good news of Christ Jesus salvation to all humanity which is for eternal purposes and the Noah's Ark "Ark Encounter" is I think another great ministry to help those who do not understand the Biblical Ark and the global flood which could impact believers and non believers to either not believing or turn from their beliefs based on this very subject. Also who's to say that they don't help with those in need with some of the proceeds they get? I'm sure they probably do, but this ministry is to help all people understand the truth of God's word and to help them see the necessity for Jesus Christ. The irony is that this project provided a good real-size proof of how impossible the bible story is. To build this, they needed hundreds of workers, electrical tools, trains and truck , cranes... This only illustrate how impossible this was for a prehistoric family of 8. And their boat could not sail. It's nothing more than a natural geologic formation made out of mud. That's why there are a half dozen formations just like it on that hillside, with the main "Ark" sitting inside of one twice the size of it. Every "finding" made by Ron Wyatt at that site was debunked by creationists that would only stand to profit off of it being real.

I love the ark so much! There's videos that tour it here on UA-cam, including the Babylon Bee! The ark actually has exhibits showing how and why the story is true despite selective science criticizing it. If we take a look at the claim regarding radio-carbondating: This rather secretive group claims to have dated an age of the found wood of at least 4800 years. A problem that I'm seeing with people on here stating there was plenty of room on the ark for the animals as well as a years worth of supplies is that if you consider the volume required to hold the food compared to the volume of the ark, there is no way it could do it. Looking this all up, an elephant (assuming this might be the animal that eats the most, not counting any sauropods for those people that believe dinosaurs were on the ark) eats between 200-600 lbs of food a day so we can use the average of 400. I'm guessing Noah wasn't all about offering a lot of variety to the animals diet, so if we just settle on some kind of hay, an average 16"x18"x48" (8 cubic feet) square bale weighs around 100 lbs (square bales so it uses the available volume the most efficiently). So thats 4 bales a day for each elephant. Thats 32 cubic feet a day for food for just one elephant. Multiply by 365 days and thats 11680 cubic feet of space required. Multiply by 2 to account for the other elephant and we have 23,360 cubic feet. Now the ark was said to be approximately 450'x45'x75' in size, so if we consider it a rectangular prism and conveniently ignore that some of this volume would be lost due to the curvature of the bottom of the ship, the narrowing at the front, space occupied by internal structure and reinforcement, etc, we have a volume of 1518750 cubic feet. This may seem like a lot of space but the volume required just for the 2 elephants' food represents 1.54% of the total available volume of the ark. That may not seem like a significant number but that is a huge portion for just 2 of the many animals that are reported to have been on the ark. There doesn't seem to be any consistent answer as to how many animals were on the ark but I've seen a lot of comments about it being around 16000 pairs. So if .00625% of the animals require 1.54% of the available volume just for their food, there clearly will be some issues accommodating all the rest (the ark could not have carried enough food for just 65 pairs of elephants). Now I know people will claim that the animals could all have been really young, or that not every animal eats as much as an elephant, but remember, these calculations give an idealized volume to the ark, don't account for the volume that the animals will physically occupy, and don't account for the amount of freshwater required to have been stored as well.
In case you are curious, If I had considered a sauropod dinosaur its about 1000 lbs of food a day so it comes out to be 3.8% of the total volume just for 1 pair of animals. The food for 26 pairs of sauropods would be pushing the ark to its limits.

You're missing one key factor. The bible says two of each kind. It dosent have to be a full grown African Elephant or a full grown Sauropod dinosaur. It was likely the smallest breed of that kind of animal and a juvenile. Smaller, eats less and it ready to reproduce right after the flood and has many reproductive years left.

But that doesn't mean the water got that high. That means the area was once under water before it was shoved skyward by tectonic plates crashing together. Geologists insist at one time there was only one continent called Pangea. For the continents to be separated as they are today, there had to be some tremendous forces at work. There are ocean trenches as deep as the highest of mountains. That is physical evidence.

@@MichaelG485 Well as Christians we have many different outlets for helping people and many are banquets, charities, housing for the homeless, mission work to help those in need in country and over seas, directly through churches and individuals that give to those in need. Those are all really great things, however, they only really satisfy temporal issues. Again, I think they are all great for humanity of all races/beliefs and as Christians we are called to help those in need as we do. We are also called to preach the good news of Christ Jesus salvation to all humanity which is for eternal purposes and the Noah's Ark "Ark Encounter" is I think another great ministry to help those who do not understand the Biblical Ark and the global flood which could impact believers and non believers to either not believing or turn from their beliefs based on this very subject. Also who's to say that they don't help with those in need with some of the proceeds they get? I'm sure they probably do, but this ministry is to help all people understand the truth of God's word and to help them see the necessity for Jesus Christ. The irony is that this project provided a good real-size proof of how impossible the bible story is.
To build this, they needed hundreds of workers, electrical tools, trains and truck , cranes... This only illustrate how impossible this was for a prehistoric family of 8.
And their boat could not sail.

It tells us about Noah and is family entering. Words do mean things and translating a ancient language written thousands of years ago into a language used today leads us into confusion. @Krysta Davis There's no way a small, unskilled family from the bronze age could have completed something it took hundreds of people with modern technology and billions of dollars to build. This "replica" can't even float and they couldn't even solely use wood because it would compromise its structural integrity.

Everyone that says the Ark story never happened, how do you explain the out line on mount arat that has exact measurements God told Noah to build the ark and thats its on the exact same mountain the Bible said it landed?
It's nothing more than a natural geologic formation made out of mud. That's why there are a half dozen formations just like it on that hillside, with the main "Ark" sitting inside of one twice the size of it.
Every "finding" made by Ron Wyatt at that site was debunked by creationists that would only stand to profit off of it being real.
I'm glad they have recreated this theme park, Noah's Ark. I will go see it one day.

The Creation Museum and Ark Encounter are incompatible with entire disciplines of science: Earth science, systematic paleontology, molecular genetics, biogeography, astrophysics, cosmology and so forth. I love the ark so much! There's videos that tour it here on UA-cam, including the Babylon Bee! The ark actually has exhibits showing how and why the story is true despite selective science criticizing it. I was going to protest how ABC tries to tell viewers what to believe and that Ham is a goofball. But I praise God. He's allowed it to be rather obvious when news stories are biased and don't want you to believe the real truth.

Before we start: I happen to hold a university degree in cultural sociology and did study the ark subject as I was raised (and indoctrinated) in a catholic family. I am fascinated by mythology, yet I am also seeking for truth. So I am familiar with the Bible as a whole as well as I did learn about proper scientific methodology later on in my life.
Let me address your points:
You mention the extraordinary claim of a group of evangelical filmmakers who claim to have found the ark at Mount Ararat, Turkey. I strongly urge you to do proper research on the origin of these claims. The story can be traced back to Yeung Wing-cheung and his organisation "Noah's Ark Ministries International". Wing-cheung is known for his rather propagandistic apologetism and, up until this day, denies the scientific community to investigate his claims. All of his "findings" are in secrecy, including the very location of where his organisation claims to have found the ark. All that is truly known until today is that there seems to be a bunch of scrap wood which once formed four compartments.
If we take a look at the claim regarding radio-carbondating: This rather secretive group claims to have dated an age of the found wood of at least 4800 years. Meaning that the wood is 400 years older than the biblical Noah (supposedly born in 2446 BC). How does that add up?
Let us not forget that carbondating as such is an incredibly accurate technique: When dating carbon 14, for example, we can say with great confidence that measurements are accurate up until dating items back to 60.000 years before it becomes tricky to take accurate measures.
This raises another question: If an apologetic organisation consisting solely of believers in the Christian doctrine wants to justify their claim by (a clear misrepresentation) of carbondating, why do they in the same instance reject this very methodology when it comes to the creation myth as such? Ask yourself: What is the level of inconsistency, if not bigotry, if one takes carbondating for a misrepresentation of the found wood while at the same time deliberately ignoring evidence from the same methodology proving that the earth is way older than 6000 years?
In other words: It becomes quite apparent that in this particular matter, science is not conducted properly at all. The methodology is flawed, the results misinterpreted deliberately and overall context neglected. Would you ever call an alchemist a chemist? I don't think so. So why would one accept secretive, non-transparent and flawed pseudo-science as science?

And why was it neccessary for him to first bear his word in the old testament, just to have it rebutted in the Bible? And if he makes such "corrections", then why are we still talking about the Bible if the same abrahamic god supposedly issued the Qur-An?
I think you know where we are heading. I can only encourage you to search your feelings and to engage into critical thinking. Critical thought does not make a blasphemist - it creates progress and true revelations.
Life and the complexity of our universe are magical - with or without religion. And we can take certain moral teachings from christianity without succumbing to blatant ignorance and denial of reality. There is no need to fabricate a dogma or an idea as it is done today. And when it comes to science, I can only urge everybody to learn HOW to conduct science. Because as we see in this matter, there still seems to be a huge misunderstanding of what science actually is.
