I never understood the "total luck" calculation at the end. Why define lucky vs unlucky based on hitting the drop rate? Shouldn't lucky be defined as being at/below the 50th percentile? Using this drop rate method you're statistically bound to be "lucky", which kind of defeats the meaning.
I've gotten asked this a few times the last few episodes so I'll paste a response -
Yes you are correct, but for the sake of simplicity I'm considering before droprate (lucky) and after droprate (unlucky).
On a pet thats 1/3k the 50th percentile would be 2080kc, so anything under that would be lucky compared to half the population & anything over 2080 would be unlucky. This number isn't very self-explanatory & I'm not trained enough to explain "why" it works like that other than just saying that's how binomial distribution maths out. One final thing (I'm going to be very annoying on semantics but statistics people love to do this so I'll join in) luck doesn't need to mean you're luckier than 50% of the people. There is no requirement determining what percentile you can consider lucky vs unlucky. Some people may reserve using the term "luck" if they are in the top 63%, convenient enough, the rate of going 1x pet rate :D
Wrapping this up, its much more simple to consider before droprate = lucky and after droprate = dry or unlucky. Instead of using the phrase "lucky hours" maybe I could say "hours saved obtaining pet before droprate"

With the hour long de-spawn timer on clues, why do you still stop for a clue break every one? It seems to me that it might be more efficient to let them stack up until you need to re-supply and then knock them all out at the same time.
the longer despawn timer was implemented in March, this content is from January! you're absolutely right though
Why do the alts wear Virtus and not ancestral?
Why don't you juggle your clues when you are boosting? Then you can focus with boosters until you got loads of elite clues on the ground and then you can be more efficient.

Can you post all of your quick guides to youtube shorts? I just binged this series and plan to use some of them as guides when I get to that content but they would be easier to access as a short
They'll all be uploaded to the second channel soon - unfortunately shorts have a 1 minute limit and most of our method segments are 3+ minutes long, so they'll have to be uploaded as normal 16:9 videos.

Shouldn't you calculate your hours saved based on hitting 50% of your "luck percentage"? So instead of calculating the expected hours for Corp as 71/5000, shouldn't it be 71/(number of kills to get to 50% chance of receiving pet)? About 71/3465?

very true - for simplicity's sake the pet hunting community considers the drop rate, or 63rd percentile, to be the line between lucky and unlucky when calculating pet hours.
