Some of the tools it makes them impractical to use with how far the battery sticks out--many cases you'd either need a really long socket or bit to actually use the tool.
Why stop there? Attach it directly to a car battery and don't switch batteries for a couple days 😂

A 2 pack of the 9 AH flexvolt batteries seem to be the best bang for your buck.
I only ever buy 5 and 9ah and the 1.7 power stack for the little cut off tool

That chainsaw is a 20v tool and the trimmer is the inferior non attachment capable one. Nothing of value was lost.
Not too big for demo saw, 1 3/4 sds max and up, miter saw, table saw, jackhammer, dust extractor, lawn mower. There'd alot of tools it doesn't make sense but there are tools it does is my point. I'll use it on my 9" grinder too if I'm doing ground work but not so much when I'm up on a lift or ladder.
Wonder if they will ever introduce power stack technology on their 60v line

Just make your own 15Ah instead of buying one from Dewalt. Buy a bunch of Samsung 50S or LG M50LT cells if you want capacity (Ah) but if you want power then buy Molicel P45B's or P42A's. The 45B's are new and still a little pricey but the 42A's are everywhere for $5 and $4 if you buy quantity.

I'd probably only use this battery if the tool was something you placed on the ground or use two hands. Using this for a tool that you'd usually only use one hand for would be REALLY tiring.

Looks to me like it would be best for larger, more stationary items like the Miter Saw and the Table Saw, unless:
a.) It’s part of your new one arm workout plan to have one Popeye arm
b.) your goal in your given profession is to turn smaller, lighter, more compact tools into bigger, brickier, more stationary tools. “Bring the impact to the wood?”
“Nonsense! I say, ‘Let the wood come to the impact’”
Small observation from someone with no particular skin in this game, but since, from my perspective, this battery seems to have been developed at, or at least around the same time as their Powerstack Lithium Ion pouch style battery. Wouldn’t this have been the ultimate use/ case argument for the benefits of great power in a smaller/ lighter package. I have no idea for certain what the limitations of the newest technology are both with scaling the size and using it with the dual voltages, but in theory if it could work…wouldn’t you be able to fit the 15ah of this cinder block into something more the size of at least the next smallest Flex Volt battery, or possibly even smaller? Wouldn’t that be the way you’d want to go?

How price DeWalt DCF 850 in US?
Normal price is about $149 USD plus tax depending on which state you live in.
Sometimes it's on sale for $129, and if you wait and get it as part of a buy one/get one deal and hack it (which means, buy the tool and get the battery for free but then return the battery) you end up paying around $80 to $90 USD plus tax for just the tool.
When they first came out and Home Depot had a BOGO deal for the tool and a 5 AH battery for $199, I jumped on that deal and returned the battery since I had so many already.
So I ended up paying $99 USD plus tax for the tool. I was very happy with that deal. A year and a half later you can find them for $80 or $90 during a great tool deal sale.
