As an artist who loves getting tattooed there is something uniquely kind and personal behind gettin a tattoo from someone like Janda said. Like I've had the same artist all year and we just bond over life, pain (of course), and just shared art shit. And as a painter I don't meet a lot of people that will often understand a lot of the art shit I do so there's always that. I have yet to meet my artist outside of the studio but it's always crazy to see an artist's development as someone that has both apprentice and younger artists working on me-- some suck but I've never felt more collaboration on how I'll be seen for the rest of my life than with my tattoo artist. And for the tough guys that don't really vibe with this-- I have both my knees, my chest, my under arms and am about to get my stomach tattooed. Don't hate on it -- you know you'd still grab a beer with your artist if you could. Real cornballs can't sit casually through a knee tattoo while talking about New Year's Eve.
in the 8 years i did tattoo, i could see nothing but tattooing as a life choice. But things changed without my will (epilepsy, college 3x, not being able to draw without having a seizure). Had to become middle management, disability, still painting and sketching until my seizure threshold starts saying, "WTF STOP!"
I used to be an artist but then my life took an odd twist of fate where I realized where I’d be most happy. Not really book worthy, although I’ve tried. But I think I’ll do just fine. Never pass off random people places and things as nothing. And trust your gut to discern good from bad.
I’m getting my first tattoo on Thursday. It’s going to be a black orchid with niho mano (Hawaiian tribal shark teeth) inside the petals. I’m excited for what my artist is going to present as the official design on Tuesday.
If I didn't tattoo, I'd be unemployed.
I don't tattoo.
What?

this was a very interesting topic, you could tell it’s not something they normally share with others

lame
@@ColtonGrundy I’m sure flowers that aren’t the overdone roses and tribal that’s not a 90’s-Y2K trash trend is very lame indeed.
@@christopherx7035 Unfortunately, no. It’s a pattern from traditional Hawaiian tattooing. It’s more geometric symbolism than literal teeth.
@@christopherx7035 PINEAPPLE? Mainlanders think anything’s Hawaiian as long as there’s pineapple. 🍍😂
@@1yellowtardigrade-ox3lv whatever floats your boat 🤣 all i was saying was be original. do your thang
i used to be an artist and lost it twice. once to shrapnel, then again to a brain tumor. now, I'm just a ghost. 🤬
No shade, but how are you valedictorian if you dropped out? Isn’t it based on final grades?
It's good thing there's a market for crappy tats then 😂
