Ellen Celebrates the Class of 2020 with a Commencement Speech from Home

- May is usually the beginning of graduation season, but because of social distancing, a lot of graduation ceremonies have unfortunately been cancelled. Since both Ellen and graduates across the country are home, she put on her gown and gave a commencement speech to honor the class of 2020.

We actually just got to have a parade for me and the rest of my class today. People lined up outside their houses as we drove by...I couldn’t tell if I was crying from joy or sadness. It was sweet, I still wish I got to have a normal graduation...but today was nice. There were so many people, and even if it was only for a minute I got to see people from my class that I might never see again...great I’m crying again...
Ellen should of done her speech on zoom lol. Congratulations to all the graduates. Truly hope that you can have your physical commencement later because you earned it. I graduate college next year. It’s heartbreaking that you are not able to have the ceremony right now. Congrats !!!!

Thank you Ellen for always cheering people up in hard times. I recently lost my parents a month from each other. Their deaths are not corona related. It's been the hardest thing to grieve to not able to give a proper funeral. Soon, I.will be having my Mothers zoom funeral and my father will be making a beautiful video to mail to family. My Mother loved you, she's been so ill for a long time. My heart is broken and your videos have helped me laugh . Thank you
