I'm so blessed to have the privilege to travel in this Beautiful Beast from Heathrow,London on the 27 the October this year to the USA.

I thought landing has to be traumatic till I used British airways from Cape town to Johannesburg. Fortunately I meet the pilot and complimented him during COVID times.

Flew G-XLEI for the first time in December. Never forget the feeling of being on my fav commercial aircraft let alone the Airbus a380

Seeing one if these behemoths parked next to a 747 from above shows the dramatic difference in size between the two. The A380 is quite a bit larger than its counterpart.

Finde ich wirklich gut, dass die mit dem CFF bis zum Freitag gewartet haben, so dass wir die BA filmen konnten. Ein BA 380 ist doch immer wieder ein Highlight.

Thomson didn’t go bankrupt they just rebranded to TUI it was Thomas Cook. I always get mixed up!

The Ram Air Turbine also known as RAT. It provides electrical power to critical systems in the air in the event of multiple engine failures.

Propeller installed their was designed to reduce drag like the propellers installed on the Boeing 787.
i was wondering myself , i notced the little propeller fan..
It's called a Ram Air Turbine or RAT. It provides electrical power to critical systems in the air in the event of multiple engine failure. It was a test flight so they were probably checking its operation.

Looks like ONLY British Airways have Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines and Emirates have cheaper Alliance GP7200 engines. Not sure why Emirates use cheaper engines on A380 - does that impact performance? Other airlines like Malaysia, Qatar, Korean, Singapore, Qantas, Thai, Etihad, having A380 don't seem using Rolls Royce Trent 900 engine.
Malaysia, Thai, Qatar, Singapore, Emirates (50 of 140 A380s) in your list use Trent 900s... Actually Trent 900 is being used by 12 out of 16 airlines that have ordered A380....

The A380 is such a fabulous aircraft to fly on - I got to experience the Qantas A380 this year and was so amazing and very quiet. Will look to flying on the BA A380 one day
