I too have been playing resto druid for forever, was wondering if this video had something to add, and lo' and behold I never thought about level 1 rejuv for nourish. Great tip!
@@Rehsto lol! Surely in season of Discovery you don't honestly believe what you just said right? Nearly every spec has mismatching runes as meta. Play run system is one of the cooler aspects of sod and allows much more unique playstyles than cookie cutter dad-specs.
As a druid you can always go into bearform if you know you're about to get a big hit, the extra healthpool (and armor in some cases) helps cover for one shot mechanics or burst combinations.
Lifebloom actually has a really good coefficient from +bonus healing. So at high numbers of +healing on your gear, and assuming you can get the full healing amount out on your target, its actually quite efficient for single target healing. im at +185 bonus healing, and each cast of lifebloom is 3.64 healing per mana (after the 50% mana-back on expire). compared to Nourish only having 3.16 healing per mana at the same bonus healing. Once the 50% mana cost reduction comes in the patch, Lifebloom is likely to be your most efficient healing per mana option for single target healing, and since Lifebloom is one of the spells Nourish needs for the 20% boost, you wouldnt even need to cast a rejuv at all really, id just lifebloom cycle and cast nourish when theyre dipping lower than the expire proc would take care of.
The being said, im aware that part of the problem of lifebloom and its heals per mana calculation is the assumption that you get the full benefit of the expiration heal, which is very hard to time correctly.
The theoretical healing/mana is on point, but the problem is the super slow healing with a lifebloom. Its a 7 sec HoT with a "big" heal in the end, And if u combine lifebloom with nourish to top the tank off, the last healing from lifebloom might just go go waste.
Perhaps there should be some sort of "benefit" when you dont let lifebloom fall off, then it could be a gamechanger. Lets say; if your target is affected by lifebloom by 8 secs or more, you regain half mana cost and/or increase its healing. This way we get to keep lifebloom running on the tank/offtank and play around not falling off
Cool guide, im running 21/0/10 for pve rn so i can deal more damage in gnomer, helping people parse by killing bosses faster. Looking forward to pvp with new lifebloom and nourish.
Thank you for this, I was a resto main from BC on and wanted to try it in SoD but it's so hard to find a PvP-oriented guide. This is a huge help. Btw, irradiated is pronounced "ear-A-D-ated"
Yoooo awesome guide! You did very well elaborating your points for spells. I am having a hard time in raids, and I think your pointers are going to help me improve a lot ty!
The initial version of lifebloom they gave us is only useful if we can pick up ooc in balance, using procs to cast a lb for the mana return only. The buffed version we are getting looks more interesting.
Great video! I have so many questions though haha. 1. What’s your value on Int / Spi / Spellpower? 2. If you were pure resto spec, how would the rotation change? 3. Do you like to Swiftmend? 4. With the new living seed changes, do you think it’s worth usint imp regrowth?
1. Int > Sp > Spirit 2. Rotation wouldn’t really change, you’re just taking the wrath DPS aspect out of it and solely focusing on healing. 3. You can, but I would dump the 5 talents into rejuv and tranquil. Regrowth isn’t used all that much, not even in endgame. I don’t use it at least. When I do, like I mentioned it’s a downranked version of it.
Been watching your twink vids for years man fr always nice seeing your vids pop up and my alt is a resto Druid for raid healing 2nd raid team so very usefull for me thanks!
If you are the off healer, is it better to just be balance with wild growth rune? (Usually its boss 5 and 6 that stand out as "healing intense"). And Lifebloom seems like only picked when solo healing? (I guess starsurge+eclipse goes hand in hand. So if you switch to Lifebloom you might aswell switch to nourish?
I've solo healed a gnomer. Depending on the raid I'm with, I'll roll nourish and LB. Other time, I'll put nourish on and keep starsurge. Just need to feel out your comp, you'll know after the second boss if there's going to be enough damage for last bosses whether you need to go full healer runes or not.
LB is worth running, but for my specific play style it'll be swapping back n forth depending on the situation. As someone full sending restoration and not doing a hybrid, they'll for sure be using it in rotation.
So you're looked at as an off healer... I have a guild that is requiring me to be a main healer... how do I overcome the mana issues I'm having. Also as a *main healer* I've been running HT4 and 5/5 Tranquil Spirit without using Nourish or Lifebloom. I tried running it a raid and I felt like I ran out of mana even faster. Any advice, tips?
Yes, an offhealer. However, I have taken over as a main healer when we pug a priest. When it comes to meters during a main raid and we’re both healing I usually top the priest by a bit or we’re about the same. But a pug healer is usually no bueno, so I can in fact main heal. Doing so, gear comes into play for sure. Do you at least have tier? Whether it’s BFD or GNOMER I main heal with the exact talents shown in the video. Last boss with 80k total heals. I also solo heal the first 4 without any problem. If you’re going oom before the boss is even 50%, your rotation is off. But in your case, it’s most likely because you’re not using those 2 runes. When I main heal, I swap to LB and use nourish instead of eclipse. Since LB received a buff, I use this instead of Rejuv (as a main hot). Same thing applies that I spoke of in the video, toss a LB on the target, then use nourish. You repeat this until you notice the target is taking more damage than your solo LB can handle, then you apply 2 stacks. I hardly ever stack it to 3. Use WG as mentioned in the video as well. Rejuv can be a combo in rotation with LB if you’re cruising on mana. Also good to combo if you need to be mobile. When it comes to the last 2 bosses, I never go oom on mang and Thermaplug I usually end with 20% mana left. I use a single innervate, plus I’ll use my trinket (basically another). I used to use a lot of buttons for mana, but now with that trinket, I only touch 1-2 for bombs but that’s it. Gear in the video hasn’t changed, I acquired the last chest tier last lockout, so now I’ll have that going forward. Hope that helps!
@@Rehsto Appreciate, it I will try this out. Do you use grid or voodoo? I've been clicking default wow raid frames and healing them that way. Anyway, thank you.
Have anyone of you ever seen living seed to work? I've never seen any icon indicating that. Does this rune is working? Is it any good if you go full heal?
Since I go full resto + healing and will be running Lifebloom, I am assuming lifebloom with its buff is going to take over using rejuv completely? for nourish plays we can just use 1 LB, hit em with the Nourish then let LB bloom so Lb will only cost us like 50ish mana. So even downranking rejuvenation for that play will be obsolete.
With rejuv being the second best behind LB, yes. However, you can still down rank rejuv for nourish for an instant burst heal. You don’t always want to rely on hots. Sometimes those upfront heals can make a difference in other situations! You can also combine a full stack of LB with a rejuv. Setups like this will be more common in bigger raids where there’s more healing coverage needed.
I’ll be experimenting with it as mentioned. If it’s worth for my play style, it might be a situational use. Definitely will still be using starsurge no matter what though.
Lets say no instant ht, and theres a dps that got chunked. That just a rejuv scenario? I didnt realize we could toss em out like that on main tanks. Primarily just been relying on ht 4 and wg
You can hard cast it too or throw a rejuv on. Me personally, I just throw a rejuv on in situations like that because most likely there's something more important that needs my attention and a hard cast could delay that. Always read the room to determine if a hard cast is worth the cast
I don't understand how 1st rank rejuv + nourish is better than healing touch rank 6. less healing, same mana cost, same cd (rejuv 1,5sec gcd + nourish 1,5 sec cast = Healing Touch 3 seconds cast) just more buttons to press ? I guess you can move a bit more. I would use nourish only if the target already has a hot otherwise it's not worth it. Or did I miss something ?
Mobility like you mentioned and incase the need to cast it again, you have a dot on. You're not wrong, same mana, rank 6 crits higher over nourish. Mainly for mobility though :)
I do not, PvP rn as a Druid is in a weird spot since the build I’m going for doesn’t take effect until the next 2 phases. Currently, I swap into eclipse and sunfire. I’ll use wild growth and nourish depending on the comp I’m with. If there’s any other questions you’re looking for feel free to ask. If it’s a lot, then I could make a guide. There’s a slight change from what you see here translating into PvP.
@@Rehsto Well, lifebloom seems good now. I was wondering if you used that in pvp but is doesn't seem likely. Would you use healing touch? Do you use the tanky bear rune instead of the free wrath? I'm Struggeling with my role atm.
