Stumbled across this as I was checking out Cyclades, and it really is (was?) a wonderful video format. Covered the rules, an overview of actual play, and some key interactions in flash backs. A format I really enjoyed. Nice job everyone.
Thanks so much Jamey, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I have to say, I'm a fan of your games as well as the great things you do for the game industry with your Kickstarter lessons. You have a real passion for what you do and it shows in your work. If I see a game or product in the future with your name on it, consider me interested! :)
This is really great! good production quality, just the right mix of rules, replay, humor etc.. I would love to see some shots of the board though.... better subscribe! :)
Great stuff again guys. I've seen this game at my club but wan't sure about it, but after watching your video I'm definately interested in playing it now. keep up the good work:)
Thanks, I'm glad we could help you out with that. It's a really solid game! So simple on the surface, but a lot of tough decisions to make throughout the game!
Great video! Had to laugh at 0:55 - 1:01 because I thought you were going to end the sentence with, "I'll be watching you." I have had Kemet for awhile and love the game, but recently got Inis and I think I may like it even more. Plus my wife and son will play Inis back to back times. So now I am looking at something similar to these two titles (but also different) and stumbled across this video of Cyclades. Looks like a game I would enjoy.
Paulo, thanks so much for all your great comments! I really appreciate all the great feedback you've been giving us for out videos. I'm grateful to have you as a viewer :)
Excellent videos, keep it up! Me and a couple of friends have just started playing board games, these videos helped us so much in choosing which games to start out with. Between us we have the Game of thrones, Spartacus and Cyclades games and we meet up weekly to play and have great fun. So a big thank you from us (:
Hey, thanks so much! Really glad we've been able to help you guys out! So great that you're to meet up weekly for gaming too...best of luck and have fun! :)
Thanks for checking us out! Glad to have you as a subscriber :) We just put out our 12th video with Kemet last week and our next video should go live sometime next week. Stay tuned!
+jeffrey collins Thanks Jeffrey! This is good advice and something we've tried to do as much as possible with our newer videos. Now we just about always include an overhead shot to get a better view of the board and cards.
Rex, I'm glad we could show you something new. I'm trying to include at least a few games that might be out of the spotlight right now. Granted, Cyclades is close to a top 100 game on BGG, but it's a few years old so it can be overlooked! Thanks for watching :)
Good job guys. A word of warning to everyone; Do not play with 3 players. 2 player works okay as it is played as a 4 player game with two bidding pawns each. At 3 the game devolves into and extended game of 2 preventing 1 from winning the bid they need until a situation randomly comes up that nobody can stop.
great review tho i didnt understand how troop thing works like how we place them in the map or how i can creat builddings despite that it was a great vid and thnx cause i had this game like 2 years and didnt know how to play it u made me understand it kinda gj !! :D
kingplayer14 I just recently played both Theseus: The Dark Orbit and BattleCON: Devastation of Indies over Skype on episodes of Rodney Smith's Watch It Played series. If you haven't seen his channel before, you should really check it out. He's a great guy and his show has incredible production value. I recommend checking out those play though videos on his channel! They're great games and work really well over Skype because there is no hidden information. :)
I love his show, and I have already seen the games that you've mentioned! In my opinion, Watch it Played and your show are the best board game videos on UA-cam!
Hi! Thanks for the video! Question: If i play de harpy on an island with just one troop and i dont do anything else on that island (like moving my troops to it). Does that island still belongs to the last player who controlled it (using the color token)? According to the manual ill say yes, but some friends differ.
I am really starting to like this channel. Great intros and commentary. Any plans to do a 'through the ages' review...there is very little info about that game on youtube and its like #5 on bgg, and the new one has the highest user rating on bgg at the moment as well....yet its like its a sacred game not to be talked about...which makes me want it more!!!
+adam heeley Thanks so much Adam! As for the Through The Ages game, it's been one I've always wanted to try but never had an opportunity. I'm hoping with this new edition it will be something we'll get to try soon. Thanks for watching!
At Cyclades expansion Hades at 4 players game if a player had a Necropolis builded paid 2 coins controled by Hades and he has a Metropolis this mean that he won the game at the end of the round?!
Right now we're just using a single Canon WM-V1 Bluetooth mic for all of us. I've also got an Audio-Technica ATR-6550 Shotgun Mic that I use for backup.
Oh man...don't buy..don't buy..don't..Kemet is my favorite game at the moment, and I was almost going to by this just for the C3K crossover expansion...oh man..looks like I might have to get this.
Zach, I actually bought Cyclades after I owned (and really enjoyed) Kemet. Some of the first reviews I saw of Kemet had said it was basically a "better" game than Cyclades. Honestly though, they're pretty different games and I'm glad to own them both. Kemet is a very aggressive, combat heavy, area control game. Cyclades is more of a mix of several lighter mechanics of civ building, bidding, area control and combat. Cyclades also has random elements with gods track changing order and the creatures deck getting shuffled regularly. Anyway, I'm a big fan of both games. They each give us something a little different. I'm going to be breaking out the conversion kit with Kemet sometime soon and I'm really excited to try out those different creatures :)
Board Game Replay Awesome, thanks for the breakdown Matt. Well I thank you, but my wallet doesn't like you very much right now :D. Any chance you guys will do a Kemet replay at some point?
Zach Tedford Haha, I'm sorry for any damage to your wallet :P. Also, Kemet is almost certainly getting played in a future episode! It's another great game for this format...so much fighting! :)
I miss this series
Really enjoying channel. You seem like the type of people I would also enjoy playing board games with. This definitely deserves way more views!
Thanks very much Ivan! Great to see you're enjoying the channel! Glad to have you as a viewer :)

Very glad to hear that, thanks so much!
This is a really polished video, guys. I like these replays. And I like that I can see my game (Euphoria) in the background. :)

Board Game Replay Thanks! That's great to hear. Likewise--I think you're building something great here.
This is really great! good production quality, just the right mix of rules, replay, humor etc.. I would love to see some shots of the board though.... better subscribe! :)
Great video. You guys are the least irritating people in board game review business, well done.
Fantastic channel idea and near flawless execution! I'm in love with this channel already :D.
Thanks, we really appreciate it! Glad to have you as a viewer!

Picked up Cyclades last week this video really helped me out thanks guys (and girl).
I really dig this channel. You guys make do an amazing job showing and demoing the game. I just subbed, so I am hoping to see even more soon!
Thanks for checking us out! Glad to have you as a subscriber :) We just put out our 12th video with Kemet last week and our next video should go live sometime next week. Stay tuned!
I find it rare to find others that like or know Cyclades.
+ElectAVire_thunder13 I'm sorry to hear that, this is one of our favorites for sure. :)
Great Replay and review! Enjoyed the discussion of strategies, etc. Keep up the good work!
Great to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Matt Evans!! What a randomly awesome channel! Nicely done, sir.
Good video guys. Helpful for getting me up to speed quickly. Thanks!
Great video, however close ups of some of the cards, figures, actions etc would help a great deal
+jeffrey collins Thanks Jeffrey! This is good advice and something we've tried to do as much as possible with our newer videos. Now we just about always include an overhead shot to get a better view of the board and cards.
Awesome work again. Yet another game I had no idea existed or knew about but now I want it :) Keep up the good work :)

Board Game Replay Libertalia! Nobody talks about this game.
Good job guys.

Guys! Blood Rage! Why you haven't play this yet?
This game looks so cool. And this video was awesome, thank you.
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome, guys! I really loved the formar of this Review!. 👌
Great video guys, you should zoom into the board to show battle or card sometimes ;)
Very fair observation. We're trying to improve things all the time and we're definitely look for the best way to do this! Thanks very much!

This looks fun! You are doing really good with these videos!! Keep it up!
Thanks! Cylades is a great game! I'm really looking forward to getting that expansion mixed in..it adds SO many great new features!
Cool! Any good games that you know if that you can play through Skype?

kingplayer14 Thanks so much, that very nice of you to say. We're honored that you think of us so highly! :)

Thanks. Great video. Nice wallpaper.
Thank you!

The bidding and tracks reminds me of Game of Thrones.

In a combat phase, if it isn't over from the first dice, it continues in the same turn, or you have to wait for the next?
It continues in the same turn unless one player chooses to retreat
The cuts to black were mildly annoying and the music that started around 12:50 was too loud. Other than that, great!

what mike are you using?

Awesome guys
I really want to know what the official pronunciation of this game is :)
SICK-luh-deez
or Sick-ladies

Some say the ending of the game often is unsatisfying?
Based on what I am saw during this play.... I skip bying the game. Even if I love interaction.
