How can someone express so many emotions without a single word . Hikaru and Nepo have mastered the art 🙂 . Hollywood needs to come calling .
I want see them in the battle of impressions
My kids are like that.
hikaru actually made a guest appearance on a tv show called billions
Just come in Italy for a week
Thats why we love them so much!
At the next Carlsen-Nepo championship match I want Nakamura as arbiter. No need for analysts and computers to evaluate the position. One look at Nakamura's facial expressions is enough.
If he is that degusted watching nepo Win, imagine his face If.. when carlsen wins...
@@Zerradable nah he definitely prefers carlsen.
@@Zerradable he respects Carlsen's game because he thinks of almost everything. Nepo is just striking lucky
hikaru's facial expressions represents the evaluation bar
@@Liamalaing No need to disrespect Nepo just to recognize Carlsen is the best.
With that reaction I would have resigned 😂
Whoever decided to set the camera there is a genius. So many good reactions from the candidates! Hahaha
If someone reacted like that to my game, I would’ve resigned instantly
I would resign my inexistent GM title.
Maybe he reacts to your opponent's position, not yours?
@@user-xh3oo5qe9e in this case it's obvious though
@@user-xh3oo5qe9e so in this case good for me
Especially after Hikaru glanced at the board for literally one second 😂
Nepo is having a really great tournament so far
if you campare the games with those fabi won, Nepo is extremly lucky
@@miserere_me9168 Yes, he should have lost the games against Fabi and Nakamura.
He's winning and playing extremely well of course, but it feels more like his opponents just happen to make mistakes against him, rather than their other opponents. Now, this could be attributed to his play, where he plays unexpected or unusual moves which are hard to answer, or maybe he just happens to play his opponents on the days they aren't playing their best/making mistakes/inaccuracies (one of his wins the opponent made a straight blunder).
@@luka188 Nepo is the fastest top player in the world. When he plays this fast and accurately, it puts a lot of pressure on your opponents. It is not a coincidence that the blunders are always happening against him. Saying that Nepo is lucky is just ridiculous. There is no such thing as luck in chess, it is a game of pure calculation and absolute information. It is not poker.
This game was just utter brainfart by Rapport. You walk into someone's preparation and decide to play it through instead of taking a draw. Seriously?
Meanwhile:Nepo just casually standing there
He just stands there
Menacingly
Making equally profound facial expressions, I’m sure
Just waiting for a fuckin' bus and some ppl on yt keep talkin' sheeshh
I can literally hear Hikaru's face saying, "Rapport must be disgusted with himself."
I don’t think you know what literally means

Man the second one is damn funny… what is wrong with Hikaru… He will laugh at himself if he watches this clip… Can’t stop laughing…
What is wrong? Well, he recognized that his hope of challenging Magnus is already pulverized. Unfortunately Nepo will make it and again will be declassified by Magnus... Just boring. Let's hope that Fabi anyway succeeds.
@@TheGermanObserver He is winning at the moment, if he wins today, then still only half a point behind
@@golumandal4836 Yes, I see. So we can still hope for an exciting world championship match... Have a nice evening!
@@TheGermanObserver he’ll be declassified? Lmao don’t think you know the definition of that word.
@@AntonioGee I just remember his last trial... What let you believe the next one could be different?
Hikaru feels pain there.
LMAO this is pure comedy by Hikaru
This is where Hikaru must have been REALLY frustrated about him not winning on his match with Nepo, where he had the chance to deter him from just racing the entire event
He wasn't clearly winning, just +2 and he needed time to figure it out unlike rapport who went into a losing position with no time.
@@yassineneffati9848 +2 is completely winning for top players. hikaru missed his chance and now nepo is doing amazing
@@yassineneffati9848 it’s is completely winning. Please learn chess.
“Just +2” what?
It's a decent advantage but it's nowhere near "completely winning", maybe you guys should learn chess and stop looking at the eval bar. In faster time formats it happens every now and then for even super GM to miss wins with advantages up to +6! In classical it's less frequent but still happens quite a lot with +2 especially when it's +2 because the engine sees something that humans don't.
these two guys wear emotions on their face proudly. imagine both of them playing poker.
they cant bluff lol
nepo is always walking like a boss
He's evaluated the whole position within like 3 seconds, I would still be counting pawns

Kudos to Hikaru for giving content to every chess channel
Hikaru in his head: "Takes takes takes takes takes, ye that s win..."
Hikaru in the second one be like, man how can you let him win again, we were trying so hard to catch up.
what? so you think chess is about letting others win rather than professional players winning games because they are better than others? If yes, then you are a complete fool. Nobody wins four games in a tournament accidentally. So, shut up!
lmao Nepo and Hikaru can be so snobby and snarky when it comes to their facial expressions. I LOVE IT.
And when Nepo walked by his expression was like "yeah Hikaru, that's how I roll. I got it like that."
I love these reactions to other players positions. Keep em coming!
Hikaru decided since he cant win Candidates he might as well become a meme for Candidates....
And I'm here for it
Funny Hikaru facial expressions
We need a compilation
It's like the scene in a sitcom where two main characters are doing something extremely embarassing and an innocent bystander walks by with that look on his face
I love Hikarus reactions 😂😂😂😂.. says a million words
My professor looking at my paper while I’m taking an exam: 0:16
Man how can those super GMs realize within an instant that the game is lost!
The other day Nepo immediately realized AliReza was losing to Fabi also in an instant.
not within an instant, they follow other games as well so some lines were already in their head. These super GMs can hold multiple games in their head at the same time.
When Hikaru got back to take a glance he already realised Rapport was in a tough spot from several moves ago.
He had probably catch glimpses of the game previously, so if he was not under intense pressure on his own game chances are part of his mind was superficially keeping track of the game and possible variations. The amount of chess related information these guys can process is massive.
Their memory and ability in the game is phenomenal. They can literally hold multiple games and positions in their head and evaluate them in seconds.
He might've seen the time
hikaru actually making content 😂😂
Hikaru: I should have just stayed at home if I knew the rest are just gonna give Nepo easy wins.
this tourney has been a masterclass of faces and expressions.
Love the emotions that Nepo and hikaru project.
We was like
Ohh sh*t, here we go again..
Nepo = Great
Fabi = Good
Hikaru = Reasonable
everyone else = underperforming
Yes nepo is leading but i would say Fabi has been playing a better tournament then Nepo. Nepo had 2 losing positions against Naka and Caruana on the other hand Caruana didnt even give his oponent a chance to win.
Nepo win because Rapport brain go smooth. Al Quinn simps for Fabi
Hikaru is actually playing good just that his opponent don’t gift him easy wins
Hikaru:- " why are u helping him this much? "🙄
I love this guy.
Hikaru is so hilarious lmao
Naka is so genuine in his reactions. You can't not love him,
Honestly I'd be pissed as well when you study like crazy to get the slightest edge and the tournament leader just gets this absolute gift handed to him on a silver platter.
Multiple times even, while he has his game against Ding where suddenly his opponent Ding activated ultra stockfish and just played perfect lol.
It's not a gift lol
Every one gets their chance u have to take them lol
Now he faced rapport who himself is struggling in the tournament
He had a choice to end his tournament with a forced draw line in petrov or fight a tough battle against the prep-ed nepo and he chose to fight because his tournament would have been over anyway
@@chadultrapromax1735 There were 7 more rounds. Rapport still would've had a chance, no matter how slim it would've been. But for some reason he willingly ran into a wall of preparation in a worse position down an hour on the clock.
@@iliketurtles5180 he is to far behind. Even 1 point in these tournaments is a bit much to overcome. It's either go big or go home for Rapport atp
@@iliketurtles5180 u don't watch tournaments ig the one who leads at candidates at half is always winning the candidates
Getting a difficult yet tricky game against tournament leader with white is a slight chance that you can take for urself
Rapport knows he won't make #1 if he doesn't defeat #1 rn because then u would need 2 games to win if nepo plays perfect draws in next 7 but only one win in next 7 if he defeats nepo
My man though 30+ min whether to play or not i am pretty sure he did all calculations regarding tournament standings also now the 2nd half would be more open as most of them will go for nothing to lose style chess whereas leaders will be a Lil passive
It’s like my mom finding out I bought 30 dollars worth of chocolate when my budget was 5
everyone is showing so much emotions this candidates tournment
Bro already calculated the universe with that one look along with different expressions he makes 😂
I love how Hikaru is playing to the cameras
That last reaction, priceless.
Hikaru in his head" i almost had him"
Nepo is coming back with a vengeance
hikaru expressions r wow....
I don't care what everyone else says, Hikaru seems like a really good person.
+Mritsonlyaname he is, people are ridiculous, it says something about the "everyone else"
HIKARU has the best personality out there.
hikaru better person than magnus.
Hikaru's eye went rolling literally to his neck lmao too funny
Where there is camera, there is hikaru
Nepo be like: it is what it is...
LOL the split second when Hikaru looks at Nepo says everything
Gotta love Hikaru! If he played against MC as a challenger it would be super entertaining
It’s all payback from when Nepo made a strange face after looking at Hikaru‘s board.
Yet another brilliant move from hikaru
Nakamura: uh-oh another point to climb for
Props to Rapport for at least trying to play for wins and not immediately drawing every game like a coward
Hollywood needs Hikaru and Nepo !!
This camera angle is like the national geographic capturing behaviour of some super rare creature in wild life
those facial reactions from Hikaru are priceless. that is a talent
He’s just trolling everyone with his expressions now loll
0:18 Clearly Hikaru stepped on a bee
He's like: Not another blunder for him
First, finding mouse in live game. Now this face. Hikaru is killing me in this candidate tournament.
I love how Japanese are always so expressive
he comes to take a second look and hes like ah nah man
Looking at Nepo like "don't play that way against me."
Hikaru as a teacher would be the one who'll roam around and check each test paper and if he sees a mistake he'll shout "y'all better read the test carefully", making you uncomfortable and question everything🤣
he looked absolutely discusted with his move couldn't watch another second

We got our own Drama Queen in Chess !

Priceless
Watched this a couple times in a row and I'm still laughing
And the second time he stops... Priceless... Like hopeless
When the tournament finishes, someone should make a video compilation of Hikaru's faces.

Someone make a custom eval bar that uses Hikaru or Nepo expressions to rate the position instead of numbers.
A walking meme, the second pass with the pause and the side check is stunning
0:15 Hikaru is disgusted by the position, how badly Rapport played, and the fact that Nepo won again.
Hikaru be like "oh... not again"
LOL love the personalities on display at these tournies.
thank you for making this video
i am going to roll on the floor &

Surprised he didn’t try and start a fight with rapport right there
It is unbelievable how fast Hikaru can evaluate any position.
when you're taking a test, and the teacher is reading what you wrote so far..
Hikaru's face looks more disgusted than the one he gave to Aronian 🤣
No no Hikarus expressions are priceless, one with Levon is the best one still.
