People should never listen to BF UA-camrs, who are primarily focused on BF, one game. Once they become successful and they don't have other job than UA-cam, their integrity is gone. They will say literally anything to keep the latest BF game relevant, because their income and standard of living (maybe they have a family and small kids to feed) relies 100% on the popularity of the new Battlefield game. AJ affords being honest, because they don't rely on Battlefield.

I feel like the saddest thing about gaming right now is we all thought we'd be given the best of the best at this point because how do you get worse...if younger me knew all my favorite franchises would turn to shit I would've appreciated every moment playing those games. We used to think that in two more generations, you'd have games where _every_ building can be destroyed, or you can go inside _every_ building, and there'll be a hundred players on each team, etc etc...Reality hurts

Doesn't make me appreciate the lost opportunities of my life overall due to being hooked on gaming in the golden age, just to later see it all come to trash. :D AoE 4 is another example how people made same looking games to Geforce 2 hardware, while offering nothing cool after 2 decades, while being actually worse than AoE2. So many disappointing games that I can't even get hyped anymore, it's even hard to get any hype for Elden ring, when even Rockstar is failing so much at the moment.

Man I feel so bad so pilots in this game. No air-to-ground action, horrible control, no cockpit freelock, and only two jets (which are basically identical). Such a huge step back from 1 and V.

It goes deeper than that. In the beta I noticed you can't have more than 4 in a party. I think 2042 was originally designed as a pure Battle Royale/hazard zone experience and when their QA testers hated it EA and DICE tried scrambling to throw these assets into something that resembled Battlefield and pushed portal to hopefully abate peoples impending frustration with the core experience.
Yeah it’s honestly refreshing seeing joe fucking seething rage and, i’m pretty fucking pissed too. Battlefield is the game that isn’t perfect but it gets things done right. This launch though just doesn’t seem like battlefield at all and it’s honestly depressing.

Don't forget about the 5 mile run to base A at the start of a map that you are FORCED to spawn into after what seems an hour long intro of the map which i've watched 50 times already which is already captured by someone in a heli so you are forced to run another 5 miles to B only to get blown up by an enemy heli OR you hit re-deploy at the start and die instantly which also costs tickets, my last game actually had a nice driver who stopped to pick some of us up, there was too many of us tho, so we ended up having 4 guys inside the car and 7! more on the roof of the car, it worked out, until a sharp turn but this shit shouldn't be happening, i've played since bf2 and played almost every game they have sold and i have never been dissapointed until now, so many features are missing, why are they copying other games like apex or over watch? those games didnt even exist when battlefield was already amazing, be yourself, not something else! if we wanted to play those other games we would play those other games, we want to play battlefield, bf2042, is not battlefield to me its just a copy of apex but not a battle royale and i hate battle royale
Spending 90 percent of the match running across the map. Getting sniped by campers from hundreds of yards away. Not able to see nearby medics, not that it matters anyway because no one revives or plays objective anyway- even though the specialists were supposed to change all that and force people to play objective. @Riven326 A friend of mine lives and works in Sweden, well, sorry I mean Swedistan. He had no problem moving and getting used to leaving there, but the only thing he cannot get used to is people getting a job position just because they are a minority or whatever the fuck their problem is, but not beacuse they fit the job position or are qualified, so he has to work with people that have no clue of what they are doing there or simply aren't qualified enough. BF2042 is the proof of this and you could already see it with BFV.
Yeah, he's been a fan since at least 2010 that I know of with BC2. Anyone that wants to play a battlefield game, pick up BF4 with all the DLC, a much better and more polished game than this amateur shite.

The fact that my homie came up with that explanation in mere seconds of just me telling him about the game, is pretty bad in and of itself.
It's so sad. I played BF1942, BF nam, BF2, BFBC2 and bought a whole new PC with money from my first job to play BF3. How did we get to this point? Honestly, it's just heart breaking to see Battlefield in this state and where it's completely lost it's identity.
Yea I hope that the battle pass system they add has a lot of content to help with motivation as long as the majority of the stuff can be earned freely.
Not only that, there were also Vehicles skills you earned with the experience you gained from using those vehicles. You want rockets/smoke screen/ better armor on tank ok but first you need to play it and earn it. Here you dont have that, you have autorapair on the belt from get go, rockets no problem ect. There is a lack of progress towards playing a certain vehicle ot unlock cetrain new weapons for them.

@Harry BaalsAfter BC2, Battlefield 3 was really great, probably the peak of the series. BF4 was a copy paste of BF3 +china. Bf1 was unique in his own way, I enjoyed it. Something went downhill, when they released that BF5 trailer with the prostetic arm woman. It feels like not even the same developers with the high quality as. If you remember the BF1 easter eggs. It was a long way to get the peacekeeper. I liked those little details . We are the point now, a campaign is not even included.
What amazes me is that this is an entry made exclusively for Multi-player, no story or single-player of any sorts. Building from a solid-ish foundation and they STILL fuck it up this bad. Glad I never bought into the hype.

BFBC 2 Sound is amazing the bullet whizz is the best ever, it showed what you can do in a fps game with audio, and I still hold many many games to this day to the BFBC 2 standard.

There is a better way. Remember when fans wanted a WW2 game based on...well....WW2 and they called them all racist decisions bigots for wanting *some* level of authenticity in a WW2 shooter? Yeah they let fans know 3 years ago that they hated them. Some, like Joe, defended them not realizing BFV was there to set a precedent of what devs think of fans.
After Battlefield V I had high hopes for this and even preordered the gold edition on PS5. It's the last time I preordered Battlefield, maybe the last time I bought a Battlefield game in general. And I've been a huge fan since Battlefield 1942, this was just the last drop for me. Worst and most fucked up Battlefield ever.
As someone whose played since BFBC1 this absolutely breaks my heart. The second they announced the specialist system, i just had a terrible gut feeling. Im so glad i didnt preorder it, I couldnt even play it if i wanted to, because my gpu couldnt even handle the beta. Blessing in disguise i guess Edit: At least Halo's there to pick me up

There's nothing more frustrating in a game when you shoot an enemy and the bullets don't register. It's one thing to miss. But when you know you hit them. That makes my blood boil.
Problem is that they start from scratch with every installation of this (and similar) franchise. They don't build upon what they had previously and add in more stuff, but they start from zero and due to constrains, development time, lack of good developers, etc. they just remove stuff they had in previous versions.

Seriously. I took games like Cod 5, Halo 3, and BF Bad Company 2 for granted back then. We used to think that in two more generations, you'd have games where _every_ building can be destroyed, or you can go inside _every_ building, and there'll be a hundred players on each team, etc etc...Reality hurts
Sad thing is, most new players won't understand what the issue is. Yeah, you could tell them to play the older games because they're better, but a lot of people, for some reason, can't like older games. It's like, a game passes 5 years old and it's immediately bad to them. I don't understand it.

AoE 4 is another example how people made same looking games to Geforce 2 hardware, while offering nothing cool after 2 decades, while being actually worse than AoE2.

The real reason they introduced specialist classes is for the micro transactions they will have for the skins of each specialist. We’re not blind EA…..
We might not be blind but DICE and EA certainly are, not to mention their non existent quality control team..
It goes deeper than that. In the beta I noticed you can't have more than 4 in a party. I think 2042 was originally designed as a pure Battle Royale/hazard zone experience and when their QA testers hated it EA and DICE tried scrambling to throw these assets into something that resembled Battlefield and pushed portal to hopefully abate peoples impending frustration with the core experience.

Cause people wanted these to come out quickly but the thing is reviews like this needs time. I don't know why people want to rush through these reviews. They aren't good at the games they play just in day one.
I think is not devs fault, is more like who make decisions and manage the dev teams

Don't forget about the 5 mile run to base A at the start of a map that you are FORCED to spawn into after what seems an hour long intro of the map which i've watched 50 times already which is already captured by someone in a heli so you are forced to run another 5 miles to B only to get blown up by an enemy heli OR you hit re-deploy at the start and die instantly which also costs tickets, my last game actually had a nice driver who stopped to pick some of us up, there was too many of us tho, so we ended up having 4 guys inside the car and 7! more on the roof of the car, it worked out, until a sharp turn but this shit shouldn't be happening, i've played since bf2 and played almost every game they have sold and i have never been dissapointed until now, so many features are missing, why are they copying other games like apex or over watch? those games didnt even exist when battlefield was already amazing, be yourself, not something else! if we wanted to play those other games we would play those other games, we want to play battlefield, bf2042, is not battlefield to me its just a copy of apex but not a battle royale and i hate battle royale

Not able to see nearby medics, not that it matters anyway because no one revives or plays objective anyway- even though the specialists were supposed to change all that and force people to play objective. He had no problem moving and getting used to leaving there, but the only thing he cannot get used to is people getting a job position just because they are a minority or whatever the fuck their problem is, but not beacuse they fit the job position or are qualified, so he has to work with people that have no clue of what they are doing there or simply aren't qualified enough. BF2042 is the proof of this and you could already see it with BFV.

I mean, is anyone really that surprised? The beta being as ungodly awful as it was 1 month before release, litterally told us what the full release would be like. For like 10 years now I've felt vindicated avoiding so many games that people have fallen victim to. Vote with your wallets people, it's the only real voice you have and if you don't use it, nothing changes.
A guy on reddit had a theory they were trying to turn battlefield into a warzone clone. Then they tried to back track at the last minute and this heap is what we got left with. I can almost believe it.

The fact that my homie came up with that explanation in mere seconds of just me telling him about the game, is pretty bad in and of itself.
It's so sad. I played BF1942, BF nam, BF2, BFBC2 and bought a whole new PC with money from my first job to play BF3. How did we get to this point? Honestly, it's just heart breaking to see Battlefield in this state and where it's completely lost it's identity.
One thing that kept me engaged in battlefield 4 was the huge amount of guns and attachments that I could unlock. It gave me motivation to play more
Yea I hope that the battle pass system they add has a lot of content to help with motivation as long as the majority of the stuff can be earned freely.
Think they held guns back for that reason so they have content for season pass
Not only that, there were also Vehicles skills you earned with the experience you gained from using those vehicles. You want rockets/smoke screen/ better armor on tank ok but first you need to play it and earn it. Here you dont have that, you have autorapair on the belt from get go, rockets no problem ect. There is a lack of progress towards playing a certain vehicle ot unlock cetrain new weapons for them.
And the fact that BF4 WAS FUN

Something went downhill, when they released that BF5 trailer with the prostetic arm woman. It feels like not even the same developers with the high quality as. If you remember the BF1 easter eggs. It was a long way to get the peacekeeper. I liked those little details . We are the point now, a campaign is not even included.
I absolutely worshiped at the alter of BF. Bad company was amazing, and all the games after that up to BF1. I gave up after BF1

BFBC 2 Sound is amazing the bullet whizz is the best ever, it showed what you can do in a fps game with audio, and I still hold many many games to this day to the BFBC 2 standard.

Problem is that they start from scratch with every installation of this (and similar) franchise. They don't build upon what they had previously and add in more stuff, but they start from zero and due to constrains, development time, lack of good developers, etc. they just remove stuff they had in previous versions.
