    Can’t you just walk off the ship?

    Hi,
    We are lookiing at this cruise for Mid March 25 so 5 weeks later than you.. it looks like you were super lucky with the weather for Feb.
    Did you like the ship and how were the ports in the off season?
    We are on the Apex in October so might get an offer whilst in board for the Infinity next year.
    Would love to hear yoyr thoughts, we love a celebrity cruise.

      It's good to hear that you're considering the Infinity cruise. The ship was very well looked after and the ports were generally quieter and less-crowded. The ship itself was very calm which I believe was to do with an itinerary change, as the cruise was booked to visit Egypt and Israel. Celebrity definitely felt like a class above other lines I've been with, which comes with a higher price.

    Day 5 off the Infinity, but did i hear the disembark times already at this early moment in your cruise ...? How many days this cruise is, if i may ask ... is this a week cruise from 8th days then?

      @CaptureCruising  6 місяців тому +1

      The cruise is 11 days but they arrange the disembarkation times early, I assume, to try and drive up sales for people staying onboard later and shore excursions of the last day. Everyone disembarks between 7:30 and 9 in the morning usually, unless you pay extra to stay on.

      Ship was very under capacity, it was great!

    The thought of a low capacity ship is extremely appealing to me. No queues or sun bed wars 😊. It’s probably due to being out of season but P&O ships always seem to be at high capacity no matter what time of year you go. Well a tick for P&O and a X for celebrity on disembarking. I would not be happy to be kicked off at 8.15 am and be taken to the airport to hang around for more than 8 hours. At least with other lines and P&O you can stay on the ship close to the airport check in time. I don’t think celebrity did this 20 years ago as I don’t recall such a long wait. And don’t get me started on drink gratuities. Another tick for P&O 😊😊

      6th February and sunburned!!! Lucky you! Like the fact that there's no sunbed wars like on your last cruise, can't believe you missed the sunset!!!! We disembarked a Royal Caribbean ship in Singapore and had 9 hours at the airport but to be honest it was ok as Changi airport is fantastic so a long time to be there but we made the most of it. By the way you having a Budweiser and showing the bill is a first for you? 😂

      I got lucky with this one as the cruise after me was pretty packed. It was originally booked as an Egypt and Israel cruise so I guess that's why many cancelled. Yeah I remember Ludlow saying that P&O's current objective is "sailing at full capacity" which makes their cruises cheap but always busy. Yeah the early disembarkation is pretty naff, especially as they booked the late flight! Another reason to drive up sales of their EYS programme which I ended signing up for. $80 for an extra six hours on the ship but at least I wasn't stuck at the airport for half a day! Yeah gratuities which I guess is a culture thing, Celebrity being an American company. If they're fixed then why not include them in the price? Not entirely sure why I'm paying a 20% tip for someone to get a bottle out of a fridge, but again, a culture thing I guess!

      @@JulieWest-b5s I think my skin is weird. Although I look burnt, and I also thought I was, the next day I was fine. Yeah, there was almost too much choice of where to sunbathe! So spoiler but I ended up signing up for their EYS programme, which was $80 for an extra six hours on the ship. So I ended up disembarking at 2pm which wasn't too bad. The drink was just me getting ready for my all-inclusive cruise in a couple weeks!!

      @@CaptureCruising ahh yes this is what is holding me back from American lines. You are already paying a premium for a more upgraded line and then paying more on top for 20% drink gratuities. Now they want more money to disembark earlier. Is it worth it I say? 🤔. I never paid when I went with celebrity my parents did lol.

      It does feel a bit of a money grab with all the extra charges but I'm not sure whether that's because I've become used to the P&O way. Swings and roundabouts I guess. P&O don't have a large fleet and destinations they visit so I kind of feel I have to branch out a bit. Will be back on Arvia later in the year so that will be nice. Defo need my parents to pay haha.

    I’m enjoying this vlog series, I really like Celebrity and would love to do an itinerary like this. Nothing beats a relaxing day at sea! Massive difference to my P&O Iona Northern Europe cruise around the same time, it was packed but very enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks for sharing

      Yeah P&O's priority seems to be filling their ships which means some good deals, but yeah always busy. Appreciate the support!

    Tip: EVERYONE has to be out of the ship by 9 am , if your flight is late that day , book an airport day room hotel. That is what we always do and enjoy the hotel facilities and a good shower before the flight !! :) ps, we LOVE Infinity, we spent Xmas and NY this year sailing the Canaries and Morocco .. Fabulous weather all along..

      Thanks for the great tip. I'm sure many will benefit from this if they haven't cruised with Celebrity and, like me, was not expecting this. It's a great ship and Morocco is on the bucket list!

    Thank you for your video. I'm going on this ship April 2024, best of Greece. I want to know the best way to get from Athens airport to the ship and the cost?
    What was the best must do thing on this trip so I can do it. I'm traveling solo.

    • @CaptureCruising
      @CaptureCruising  6 місяців тому

      Enjoy your cruise in April, should be nice and warm! Celebrity run coaches from the Airport and Ship. Mine was included in my booking, I think it was $45 for the transfer to Airport to book separate and $24 to the City Centre. Taxis are also very accessible to get you to and from the ship although I'm not too sure on the price of these.

    Any chance of you giving us a thought comparison between this and p&o. I've only sailed p&o and wonder wether the up cost is really worth it. Cheers for the entertainment

      For me, Celebrity has a more premium feel, which is reflected in the price. Where P&O feel like they're making cutbacks all the time, I don't really feel this with Celebrity. Some differences I noticed with Celebrity; turn down service in cabins, juices available all day, entertainment seems more high end. Some downsides are that; $18 gratuities per day not included, 20% gratuities on all drinks, fixed disembark time not dependant on any flight times (they wanted to kick me off the ship 12 hours before my flight). Overall they're pretty similar, both with pros and cons. Some swear by Celebrity, but it would be dependant on deals for me. I got a decent deal, around £110 per day, which was actually cheaper than P&O cruises around the same time.
