Magnamalo is newer, less memed, less fan favorite, and just a general pain to fight, heck, almost more than bazel with a melee weapon. With Bazelguese you could just stack max fire resist and the explosions would be far less dangerous. REALLY not a fan of his hitbox that extends into orbit from his back upwards.

Look at alatreon in iceborne, his mooveset fk works well and the escathon judgements isn't bad, it became even a meme

While magnamalo is the opposite (and now malzeno takes a similar approach) Second point : I disagree with your points on the dps check Also alatreon has an in depth mechanic that balances the elemental damage made by various weapons : to be clear Great sword and gun Lance deal very low amount of elemental damage so alatreon's dps check counts an higher amount of elemental damage for the check (example, if dps check has 1000 elemental damage and greatsword does 50with a hit, the damage will be multiplied by 1.1 so that you deal 55 damage out of 1000.... Instead elemental weapons like dual blades, switch axe, charge blade have a very low multiplier of 0.6, decreasing its overhaul efficiency by a lot, and light bowgun has a 0.2 multipliers which is ridiculously low and balances the weapon class Not only that but it is easy to reach the dps check without an elemental build (i mean without safi and kjarr) if you are aggressive and you use effectively I-frames and opening, something that rewards skilled players It is controversial because there are a lot of people who just don't understand the dps check and while yes, we should have these informations more public, i still think that the fight works perfectly even with the escathon judgement, which makes for a very hard fight with a very strong black dragon
