Successor to the Silver Cloud** mixed up words the entire video
It was my favorite car in high school. Your SS is much better than the average on sale today, very clean inside and under the hood, plus all the options. As far as the HP, RR got away with BS such as "adequate" in the US and UK, BUT in Germany there was a LAW REQUIRING IT TO DISCLOSe HP numbers, and it DID say 200 or so. Of course, Many US muscle car makers tended to UNDERreport their HP (maybe for insurance reasons).
Stunning 😊 car. I used to own a silver shadow and have previously owned 😊 a silver spirit. They really are something else.😊
A decent video on Silver Shadow II. Some errors and specifically the interior add ons being after market, but nonetheless a video that talks about the positive attributes and great collector value of such cars in today’s classic car world - highlighting the fact that you pay good money for a good car. Cheap cars are just that. A nice review on finishes and features. This one is a nice example with good leather and finishes. Nice original presenting engine bay which is always a sign of a good car.
Rodd, big fan of the work you do at Park Ward. Yeah few errors on the vid, was just recording this on the fly and plan to do another more in depth video later on. Thank you for watching! I appreciate the compliments on the car
A beautiful example 👏
Mine is a 79, also in Caribbean Blue !
What kind of shoes you got on
Armand. I disagree. In my opinion the Silver Cloud 3 was the last true Rolls. Shadows are lead washed which will give future body work problems.
This is a real ROLLS-ROYCE. Today's ROLLS are made of more than 80% BMW parts with an indecent price. Very beautiful example you have there.
Humbug.
Beautiful example. Just one point. As the suspension is the Citroen system it requires LHM green hydraulic fluid. Not dot 4 brake fluid. That would be catastrophic. Never heard or dot4 and castor oil mix. Proper fluid should be available. I buy a Penrite LHM but other brands available. Not sure if available in the States. I’m in Australia.
@@peterriggall8409 LHM fluid is for a silver spirit/spur I have that car as well and am doing a review soon
Silver shadows use RR363 which is basically Dot 3 or Dot 4 with castor oil
Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Didn’t know that. 👍
@@peterriggall8409I live in the uk and fortunately we have large speciality companies like flying spares who work alongside club recommendation garages and manufacturers if new spare parts who can provide any ready made guild or part for at rolls Royce of any erea.
You are not completely incorrect about the hydraulic system linked to the breaks and suspension; however more modern specialty fuilds now exist at least on the uk market for each variant of the silver spirit and silver spur.
Several tweeks were made year to year and owners often modify their own cars as well.
Consequently I recommend a consolation and preferably an inspection before selecting a replacement fuid.
They need to bring back the flask and shot glasses in cars
@@GoldChris need to up the max BAC level to .18%
Sweating bullets shooting this review! 😂😂
@@yancyvioli that Florida heat ain’t playing around
Highly desirable cars, but you need deep pockets to maintain them.
The best cars in the world perhaps not, but they have always commanded respect.
Please get rid of that Nardi wheel !
8 mpg, wow that's dreadful
@@JohnSmith-it6hj only cool cars get under 15mpg
Only if you drive it hard. Mine gets about 14 mpg with normal driving
Remember that'll be U.S. gallons rather than imperial gallons. An imperial gallon (ie British gallon) is 20 percent larger. That's why it sounds so bad. Having said that, the fuel economy is still horrendous by any measure....
I doubt this was a deal killer for ANY Rolls buyer. Don't be ridiculous.
@@tylerhamilton-nz8qs US or Imperial Gallons (20% bigger)?
Congratulations on your RR and your vid just perfect, long enough and yet informative enough to enjoy watching it. 🥸
