That's why we love and respect Chris so much. He never snuffs out the hot coal of advancing his motorcycle skills, respects and appreciates all the various 2-wheel disciplines, doesn't waste his breath criticizing things that he doesn't prefer. Not to big headed for a Honda Monkey, not to shy for a Kawasaki H2.
Took part for the first time this year. On a Lexmoto 125 that cost £750. The best adventure I've ever had on a motorcycle. Brilliant, brilliant event. Your summary at the end was perfect Chris.
I absolutely loved the chill vibes of this video. It was a pleasure to watch. It reminded me of many years ago when I was a teenager, riding with my dad in enduros and rallies. It had the same atmosphere as this video: joy, making friends, and beautiful trails. Keep up the great work, and thank you!
I love the friendly and supportive atmosphere of this inherently British event. (A friend gave me a copy of “100 Years of Motorcycles; Twentieth Century in Pictures,” Ammonite Press; and the older photos are sometimes British-quirky and other times simply amazing. This event would fit right in.) I doubt I could manage that 700 or my DesertX Rally on that terrain, in those conditions, and hats off to Chris for pulling it off, especially in those temperatures. Really a fun, inspiring video.
I rode the trial this year with two friends, i can attest to how cold it was and how some of the road sections were more scary than some of thr actual sections themselves due to ice! It was my 5th MCC trial and I will be riding them every year for forever more. 4 of my successful attempts have been on a KTM 990..
Thank you for such a great review Chris, each event takes a large of volunteers team to arrange & even more on the event it self. It's great you see the simple joy the achievement of finishing brings. David Richards of MSUK, call the array of vehicle "eclectic" & I think this applies to the riders & drivers also. Camaraderie, it's you against the challenge & your all in it together.
I remember helping a couple of Tenere's on the slippy rocks at Tipley and thinking i definately won't be doing it on an adventure bike. Great video. I will keep an eye out for you on the Lands End on my shed built bike, 😁
Watching from the heat in Sydney, OZ but know you’re in my neck of the woods after spotting the Passage House Hotel. Great Vid Chris and I’m actually dreaming of some nice muddy lanes 🤠
Great video ! Did the MCC Trials for 12 years in the 80's & 90's & managed to get a Triple award in 1996. Happy memories ! And tired, wet, muddy & cold ones !!
I left the UK for Canada nearly 30 years ago. This stuff along with the people that go with it is pretty much what I miss about the UK. Fond memories of the Lands End Trial, myself.
Absolutely spot on about easy va hard. Anyone can have easy fun, hard fun is something you never forget. It'll give you adrenaline that lasts for days. And stories to last a lifetime.
Great video Chris and sums up the fun/challenge of the event perfectly. I rode my 690R this year and really enjoyed the whole event - except the black ice !!!!
You are a legend! As is that Tenere. Over New Year I was pretty busy running in my new Himalayan 450. I watched a load of your clips about it and just want to thank you for your excellent advice. I’ve just had the first service and the motor has really come to life. I took it to work yesterday (here in France) in -7C and it started on the button and didn’t miss a beat. Even those Ceat tyres are good on tarmac. I’ll be changing them soon for off-road though. Cheers!
The one bike that's set Guinness book world records, just for motorcycles in general. Yamaha may have taken a while to get it to market, but boy it was worth it.
Absolutely awesome event, your enthusiasm makes me wanna have a go. Great video thanks for making me aware of the event. Its time to contact the motorcycling club
I understand the logic, I plan 1 trip each year that takes me out of my comfort zone. Invariably there are some issues that elevate the stress but when you make it out the other end, the buzz is so satisfying.
I wouldn't have tackled half those trails on a sunny summer's afternoon, let alone in pitch darkness on a freezing winter's morning. Kudos to Chris! 11:40 And just how gorgeous was that 500 Morini?!
Just wish I got into this stuff when I was younger, it looks amazing and loads of fun. I did a walk across the Yorkshire moors when I was about 20 with a mate and set off at 11 o’clock at night on a freezing night and it took 24 hours to do a route that should have taken 12 ( we got last in all kinds of gnarly undergrowth and both torches failed). Anyhoo, the point of telling that is like you say Chris, putting yourself out of your comfort zone makes you feel alive and gives you a story to tell..
I discussed doing this event with a mate in his VW Beetle (a real one) back in the 1960s. We never did it. This year my Christmas present from my wife was membership of the MCC. Is 78y.o too late on a bike? Dunno, but I’m hoping to do one of the MCC trials this year. Thanks Chris, this was a very good report, and an encouragement. Either the Serow or the Innova Special might be seen doing what they’re made for.. Les
I take part in an MX5 & I know how thing never quite look the same on video, any one watching has no idea how steep sections link Normans Hump & Simms hill really are. Great video Chris & I am sure you will be doing another soon. Class F is there to give theses very big adventure bikes a better chance. on some of the climbs if you fall off one of them you are going to see it slide past you down the hill!
New years eve i travelled to Blackpool in that crazy storm to pick up my Tenere Rally. Drenched from head to toe in 6 hours of the worst storm of the year but worth every bit to get this bike.
I love how popular the T7 has become. Ive always ridden a 91 transalp, and just asked for something simple. I feared i was the minority on the marked, but it seems not
Engine guards mandatory for a night buzz on black ice. I've hit a patch of the stuff with a car around a curve, thankfully no one was coming from the other direction because it's like a slide across a skating rink until the rubber catches dry pavement.
Great video, and a fantastic effort. Anyone thinking of entering but a bit afraid? You can enter an easier Class O, which leaves out some of the tougher sections, and includes some simpler ones. All credit to your mate on the Guzzi road bike...hope it wasn't smashed too badly
Hey Chris! I love your videos! You mentioned Oxford heated grips... Is there a certain model that you could recommend? Any trouble griping the bike? Thanks! Dave in NorCal
Had been looking into doing something competitive on the bike and the big enduros look so intimidating even more so on a big adv bike. Assumed they were more navigation events as opposed to hill climbs. May have to do one if I can get the right tyres for my Africa twin
Too heavy, too high a centre of gravity, too expensive, 19" front wheels, small fuel tank. The limit for adventure bikes in the age of 2025 is 500cc, 400 lbs and a 20ltr tank.
No factory bike ever makes the power it can actually make, without some help from the aftermarket. Big deal. Accept it. MT-07 is lighter weight than the Tenere. Big deal, it's less durable and capable than the Tenere too. Try different stuff. Crumple up the spreadsheet and throw it in the bin.
I've found a new bucket list item, I think. Awesome riding on the big bike Chris.
That's why we love and respect Chris so much. You really are the best f'ing telly out there, thank you time and time again for your productions, LOVE 'EM!
Cheers!
The smile on your face when you tell us about your trial, priceless. There's no doubt that you love motorcycling. Thank you.

Saw you on the final section, I think///I was marshaling on Millens Lane
Great memories of the M.C.C. trials! Rode these events in the 70s, on a Velocette! Managed to win the motorcycle Baddeley two consecutive years

Excellent showing Chris. You Brits are an interestingly quirky bunch of fun folks.
I used to regularly ride an RD250 in the snow, now I'm scared to put the bins out! Well done Mr. N.
Same here in the late 80’s on an FZR 600, grim

Yeah I follow the “doing something difficult once a year on your bike ethos “ I sometimes go out when it’s a chance of rain 😂😂
Thank you for such a great review Chris, each event takes a large of volunteers team to arrange & even more on the event it self.

A big thumbs up for all those helpers that make the event happen.

Awesome stuff Chris a true ambassador to Motorcycling and a cracking good fella with it too .
You are hands down the best bike youtuber in the UK great job
@@mikefry6765 Cheers Mike!

You literally rode past my front door and I never knew this was happening. Would have been a hot chocolate ready for you too 😂😂😂
He deserves a gold medal for personality and camera work. (and riding skill , of course ) I smiled through the whole video.

Absolutely spot on about easy va hard. Anyone can have easy fun, hard fun is something you never forget. It'll give you adrenaline that lasts for days. And stories to last a lifetime.
Great video and hats off to the organisers and helpers for putting on a great event.
Fantastic episode! Loved every minute. Thanks Chris.
And just think...after finishing that, you'd only be half way through the 24 hour trial here in south Australia:)
Great effort on the mighty T7!..that looks brilliant. Love the fact you acknowledged and thanked the trusty observers. Cheers Steve
Great video Chris and sums up the fun/challenge of the event perfectly. I rode my 690R this year and really enjoyed the whole event - except the black ice !!!!
Thanks for the tip @4:23. Have to give it a try🛵🏍🚀
So true
I love taking my road bike for a cruise to the pub.
But feel more happy battling difficult tracks on my dirt bike
Omfc, im definitely doing this next year. Thanks for the video, what great fun
Nutter! Hats off to you Chris 👏

That kind of ride is appealing, I'd just hate looking at the notes all the time.
Hats off to all the people working the route.
It does add an extra dimension to biking!👍
The Ten sounds lovely.
The one bike that's set Guinness book world records, just for motorcycles in general. Yamaha may have taken a while to get it to market, but boy it was worth it.
Mate you are the embodiment of the spirit of motorcycling
Heroic effort getting up that huge hill.
Absolutely awesome event, your enthusiasm makes me wanna have a go. Great video thanks for making me aware of the event. Its time to contact the motorcycling club
The first 20 seconds are quite impressive. I'd be proud if I could ride a normal dirtbike like that.
I understand the logic, I plan 1 trip each year that takes me out of my comfort zone. Invariably there are some issues that elevate the stress but when you make it out the other end, the buzz is so satisfying.
Love it as always. Thanks Chris!

@richardsimpson3792 Well, all credit to him for trialling it! If it were mine, it wouldn't leave my living room!
I wish we had things like this in the US. That seems like such a fun experience.
chris is fucking brilliant on bikes man
Chris you absolute beast! Fair play to you. Great to chat at Motorcycle Live too 🤙🏻
…and people think we’re eccentric over here. Right I’m off to role a cheese down a hill. Fantastic !!
As usual, hats off to you. Maybe Bikeworld fans should choose which bike you do the trials on each year. Your mate’s V7 looked cool too. 👏🏽💪🏼😎

I live near Exeter and ride those lanes - Simms can be tricky you did very well mate - awesome !

Not too late, I did the trial this year for the 3rd time and if you can ride then on a serow you will be fine.
Love it,that event has Honda C90 written all over it.
I love Chris’s idea of fun 😂

Well done especially on a T7...brilliant!
Looks great must have a go 👍🍻🏁
Cracking ride 👌 really fancy doing this when i get the chance 👍 great video thanks for sharing
Defo doing that tape lever mod !
Takes me back. Thanks
Nothing wrong with your thought pattern. Real bike riding guys are are crazy nuts 😂💪🏻😂.
That looks great 👍🏻

Mad as a box of Frogs:- Welcome to the Rally, you’ll fit right in.
Very gnarly and tough going. Great riding ❤ I would of been off more than on 😂
I love how popular the T7 has become. Ive always ridden a 91 transalp, and just asked for something simple. I feared i was the minority on the marked, but it seems not
loved it! ❤ go Chris!!
That’s so awesome! You guys are crazy 😅 I’ve slipped on black ice before and it is horrible. There is not much you can do once you fall on it.

Chris just awesome adventure, Tenere used as it should be 🤟🤟🤩💪
Always thanks the observers, top man.
Very nice! Maybe next one is tied into the review of the 1390R? 😆
i own and love my white 2008 Moto Guzzi classic, I never though of using it for this ha ha
I hope you wore your thermals, I think the guy at the beginning was thanking his lucky stars his lights packed up!
That bike sounds savage
What a nice event en what a good video!
Wow! That looks brilliant! Great job! Are you able to eat whilst your in the competition?
Seems like a ton of fun if you ask me, I'd do that if I had a bike and all that! :D
Hey Chris, have you always been this cool? Looks like you had a blast!
I’m looking at this event as "fuck me I wanna try it" need something off road capable now 🤔
Ya don't do it 'cuz it's easy, ya do it 'cuz it's hard - that good sir, is the best....
Did you add lights Chris?
living the best life.

@@mountainsmedia9529 MCC has a tyre list for what’s allowed in what class. Take a look before buying to make sure you’re right with the scrutineers.
@ I now have the list. Thankyou
So Chris is the yam up to the test? Would any of the bikes in the same class have been a better choice. Good luck bro 🍻
Proper motorcycling
Good one Chris
This has got to be a really British thing.
Something I noticed, the T7 headlights aren't as great as the 450MT 🤔
Trial? Rally, right? Or enduro checkpoint
This is Warlord Dementus' (Furiosa saga) origin story.
100% correct
Looks Miserable, just the sort of thing I love. Would love to have something like that where I live.
nice

Glad I didn’t have to do this

The tenere is actually an extremely lousy bike. I just sold mine for a KTM 790 adv. Love the KTM. ❤❤
Too heavy, too high a centre of gravity, too expensive, 19" front wheels, small fuel tank. The limit for adventure bikes in the age of 2025 is 500cc, 400 lbs and a 20ltr tank.
Funny how a SV650 from 2004 makes more hp than a 13 year later released T7
Funny how an R1 from 15 years ago makes more power than the new r9 whats your point?
@@dreamcrusher112 You ought to diversify your fruit intake, mate. Apples and oranges ain't cutting it, brah
