I visited Xinjing last Month. Urumqi is a modern city today, quite advanced and similar to other big China cities. Suggest visiting Kuche and Kashi ,South Xinjing, and Tulufan of East Xinjing , if you want to know more about Uygur culture.
The West don't want people to go, so they can keep their population misinformed. I urge everyone to go, so they can experience and see for themselves. Lies can only travel so far, but it can not cover the truth "纸包不住火."
Asslamalikum Amir. The Uygure in China are chinese Uygure, so that they are chinese. Chinese Han are also chinese. Do not separate people groups in China. "The Uygure doesnt sound like Chinese" this phrase feels like from colonists, which wants to conquer and divide.
I don't want to sound mean or anything, but you are trying to speak uyghur to people who look clearly chinese and then you try mandarin to folks who clearly look non-chinese - they were uyghur but keep in mind there are many other different minorities there like mongols, kazakhs, uzbeks, tajiks, hui, and a number of others. uyghurs are not even the majority there. one thing you have to understand is not all uyghurs are muslim and most are only moderate as seen with their wine culture. another thing is the han chinese were there over 2000 years ago mainly to protect trade routes. it was the silk road that brought islam and uyghurs to china almost a thousand years later. I'm not sure which chinese told you not to go to xinjiang because xinjiang is a big tourist destination for local chinese lol. it gets over 200 million tourists per year! ever since the government built up infrastructure including transportation hubs to make travel there easier, xinjiang's economy took off and locals including uyghur living standards along with it. it was a very poor, remote region 20+ years ago which you can still get an idea from neighboring countries today. poverty was one of the reasons why some turned to extremism and hence terrorism which is why you still see the legacy security there today. the chinese solution was invest in poverty alleviation with infrastructure, education and jobs. you know how certain other countries dealt with terrorism in contrast.
Undermining the economy and hence security of the people is the whole reason for the anti-XJ narrative. Those who talk falsely about oppression are the ones who want XJ to fail.
Not only han people are called Chinese, All the people who have PRC or RC passports are Chinese, including Uyghur Chinese, Mongo Chinese, Kazakh Chinese, etc. The language every Chinese can speak is called mandrain, and almost each region or ethic groups has their own languages in China.
@@AmirMalikTravel ofc, do you know the uyghurs and all other ethnic minorities groups in China enjoy free education , subsidised healthc, jaffirmative policies for universities admissions, jobs priorities, religious freedom traditions n cultural heritage all protected by the constitution. of the country, . ? Urumqi is a multicultural city of mostly Han Chinese. If you want to experience a more authentic Uyghur Chinese city, I highly recommend you visit Kashgar on your trip. It's a beautiful and idyllic city of Uyghur people and culture. It's probably the most popular tourist destination in Xinjiang!
80% of Urumqi population is Han Chinese. If you want to see Uyghurs majority, go to Kashgar. Basically, Han Chinese are the majority in northern Xinjiang, and Uyghurs are majority in southern Xinjiang.
@@HGTC927 Xinjiang has about permanent 44% Uyghurs and permanent 42% Han Chinese, but at anytime, Han Chinese are the majority because Xinjiang has only 25 million people living there, but there are millions of tourists(about 128 million tourists visiting Xinjiang in 2023), and almost all of them were Han Chinese from other provinces. The rest of other permanent residents are made up of other groups such as Kazakhs, Hui Chinese, Mongols, Tajiks, and other groups. Kazakhs made up of only about 6.7% of Xinjiang population. So, generally speaking, if you divide Xinjiang into half. The upper half is Han majority and bottom half is Uyghurs majority.
It is difficult for foreigners to travel in southern Xinjiang, where some people speak Mandarin and English, and my boyfriend even had trouble finding suitable hotels
The majority of Urumuqi is Han people. Also most of the tourists are from other parts of China. Ugyhur people are mainly living at Kashgar and south part of Xinjiang.
Lol, that guy was greeting with another guy, definitely was NOT saying 'get out', lol. Why would you think they speak English there? lol. Xinjiang not only has Uyghur people, the region is also the home to Han Chinese, Kazakhs, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, and many other ethic groups. If you wanna experience more traditional Uyghur culture, you can visit Kashgar in South Xinjiang, definitely worth visiting.
Xinjiang is the land of abundance as the economy n tourism trades are booming n will continue to be prosperous as it is also the major important hub of China global BRI linking China to central asia , russia to western europe via the eurasian road/rail corridor
Chinese people will be friendly to you , no matter you are from UK or from Pakistan. In general, Pakistan people are more welcome as China Pakistan have good relationship.
Don't they have Didi there? why don't you order a taxi or a driver, so you don't have to negotiate since it's metered. That taxi looked illegal, it doesn't even accept Alipay.
it's not illegal, he just overpaid. if he said no and walk away, that guy would have called him back lol. there's probably a dozen other paid drivers there as usually the case around smaller train stations and airports.
@ivyshy98 In Yunnan province, their are even written signs about those so called 'black drivers' warning against travelers. Apparently Xinjiang just doesn't have that kind of warning signs, but that driver fits the profile pretty well, so it is illegal. If he is legal the cars usually have the taxi sign, he should be registered and accept other kinds of payments.
i guess there is a two week or more delay for you to edit and upload videos, cuz right now in xinjiang it should be deep autumn already and people put on more warmer clothes.
?? Bro go there yourself. There's more mosques in China than the whole of Europe. Islam has arrived in China since 1400 years ago The Arabs came to China 1400 years ago with islam
There are 56 ethnic groups in China, and the Uyghurs are just one of them. They're all Chinese. A lot of minority ethnic groups have their own languages and writings. You can find any denomination of the Chinese yuan with Chinese characters, Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhuang characters on it. This is common sense in China and there's nothing special about it.
I'm pretty sure the mosque is open... During the times of day you need to pray... They close it other times So the curious tourist don't become a problem Going to see Uyghurs praying in their mosque
