- I am no minimalist, and I definitely am always looking for ways to keep my wardrobe feeling fresh and modern and to keep my style moving forward, evolving - I need to be inspired by the clothing and outfits that I wear. It's hard to navigate this while also staying conscious of the impact fashion and our consumption of it has on the outside world. There is so much to think about and lots more to say here, buuuut, I'm just one gal, bobbing about on a boat and trying my best! That's where we start, by trying to make change - here's how I do that..

Hi Joy! Absolutely! 100% in agreement, it’s a tricky one to navigate..
I just gave away 3 bags and 2 boxes of clothes I do not wear. I came to the conclusion that I over consume clothes, makeup and skin care products. I decided to give away a bunch of stuff and felt really good about it. Some things had tags and some products still in boxes. Today I wore a trench coat that was still in my closet. I did not like the sleeves so I rolled them up a few times and seen that it looked great. I also wore a tartan plaid dress over black jeans with a pair of black boots. Your video really strikes a cord. I have seen how fortunate I am to have so many choices and decided to be more discerning and use what I have and share with others. Thank you for this insight.

I love classic pieces & am drawn to vintage & tailored. My basics are either a flowing blouse or a tailored button down paired with tailored trousers. I thrift almost everything (except underwear & swim wear).
I enjoy the search for the perfect piece and shop in person only for my vintage & second hand pieces as it feels more satisfying. I keep a list of what I actually need and shop for "exactly" what I need. I don't shop mindlessly or without purpose.

Something I do is when I want to buy something, I bookmark it or take a picture. I wait at least a week and think about how much I want it/how I'm going to wear it, but usually I forget about it or change my mind. I too get tempted by the version of myself that lives in my head lol. And I have a no-buy list based on things I never end up wearing: miniskirts, party dresses, specific colors, etc.
Oh my gosh yes! “The version of myself that lives in my head” can really relate to that - it’s so true how we get caught up in that! Great advice too, go slow!

Yeah I upcycle clothing and sell it through my website! The link is in the description where you can find all my pieces- I created new shapes on the blazer collar and hemlines 😊

What was yours and your husband’s idea for moving on to a boat?
Hello! Thank so much for watching! It started in 2020 - we both lost our jobs like many - and just wanted a roof over our heads that we could afford at the time and own. Two years on it turns out we really love the lifestyle and will probably stay on water! It has its hardships - mostly for me closet space is super limited😂 but we’ve adapted and are enjoying✌🏻❤️
