Kerry Von Erich telling the crowd to avoid drugs by using the popular slogan of the time "Just Say No" is so Ironic that it made Alanis Morrisette's head explode.
Wrestling will never be this real again. This whole crowd believes everything & the Von Erichs aren't breaking kayfabe one bit answering these eager fans' questions. When Hayes & Roberts come out all hell breaks loose & those fans are legit angry. Wrestling will never have this much passion & emotional connection ever again.
Yes the Von Erichs definitely had the crowd believing everything they said. Hopefully when Kerry told them all to say no to drugs they listened to him. Unfortunately Kerry didn't practice what he preached. Nor did any other Von Erich brother in that ring did for that matter
You are so right. The crowds actually loved these guys like family. There was a real connection like you mentioned. Hometown boys that everyone was proud of.
@@baymaxc1647 Pretty much everything the Von Erich’s say here is a lie. So it’s a bad thing people are smart enough these days to understand wrestling is just entertainment? Kerry von Erich looks good this must ben b4 the accident .after the accident is when Kerry became depedant to pain medication . he looks lot better than his uswa days .
Listening to some of the subjects discussed (like when Chris is going to start wrestling) is cringeworthy when we know the whole truth some 30 plus years later.
All of Jack’s behavior and storytelling and stage parent shit is all way more embarrassing than any of his kids drug problems or drug charges. They seem like they thought drug charges were shameful to the family but honestly their father was way more embarrassing than any drug addiction or charges and the sad part is addiction is mostly just a side effect of trying to cope with stress, pressure, anxiety, emotional and physical pain. Makes me sad for the kids. His narcissism greatly affected his judgement in his parenting.

Yes. After Mike's near-death bout with toxic shock in 1985, Fritz wheeled what was practically a stuttering corpse to a press conference so they could promote the second Cotton Bowl show (watch the actual press conference and how they are blatantly promoting the show and had clearly given Mike lines to say, which he couldn't remember because his fucking brain was mush). Even after it was clear that Mike would *NEVER* be the same (he was never good to begin with) and that he couldn't even make it through promos, Fritz still made Mike go out there and be his performing monkey until he finally killed himself.
Been reliving the von Erich era for an hour before bedtime the past week or so it has been very enjoyable thanks for the video
No one could get a crowd more riled up than Michael PS Hayes. He was a great heel.

Kerry Von Erich says, say no to drugs while being high on drugs at that moment.
At least he correctly said how many letters were in the word "no".
Virtually every pro wrestler self-medicates.
kerry told people to say know so there would be more for him

Good find! The Von Erichs were amazing. Regardless of the substance abuse issues, these were the real glory days of wrestling.
WCCW was a fantastic program, but I would have never guessed how this famiy's legacy would end.
It is nuts how much Mike looked like David
