Just stumbled on this video. Very well made, no-nonsense explanation of madeira wines as I've heard of it but never tasted any. We're visiting Madeira this year, so look out for the drunkest guy at the farm. I can't wait to mouth madeira gold. Also, I thought Katemba was South african. 😂 Cheers and keep well.

Been to D”Olivieras enjoyed all of it -as my adult kids are not really into Madeira wine and hubby was driving - I had mine and the kids and didn’t get drunk 😂😂😂 together with some bolo de Mel it was a wonderful experience 😂😂 Love the video Jeff 🎉🎉🎉

Even rarer grapes used in Madeira are Muscatel , and Bastardo . The age of the wine is the age at which it was bottled so for instance a 1900 wine bottled in 1950 is 50 years old . Its a bit misleading to say that its older as it does not age in bottle only in cask .
