Thanks much for the shoutout! 🙌 And a huge thank you for sharing your insights and camp spots-future hikers are going to benefit greatly from your experience. Keep crushing those miles! 🏕🌟
I'm really enjoying this hike but I have to admit I'm looking forward to you and Jen paddling the Yukon. I hope all your plans work out. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
That should be a fun one and kind of the polar opposite of this year. I was just doing some research on the Starlink antennae we plan on brining while I was off trail
Solar isn’t really efficient enough to make it viable for hiking. I have an Anker 24K battery and a back up 10k battery from Walmart. I recharge when I have access to a wall plug. Even with the video work that can keep me going 5-7 days if I’m disciplined. Which I’m often not…
Tough miles with the hurting feet and traffic. But the scenery is starting to look "up". Fingers crossed for water and healed feet. Hike on (haltingly!) Tortoise
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes I dropped Feral Shasta (ADT 2021) off at the north end of the Hayduke last weekend, it's really not a summer hike, 95F now.

Nothing worse for a hiker than no water and painful feet. Hope it’s getting better. At least the crowds will die down once you’re done with Colorado… heck, towns will be oasis in the middle of those big desert basins and plateaus. Happy trails.

That’s me, always the worst timing. I remember when I got close to Katahdin others saying they were trying to do anything but finish on Labor Day weekend. Which I then hit straight on.
Yes. My posting buffer was destroyed when I was sick so I’m trying to spread the videos out to get back to that. Date is on the first slide and I do a video every day except for zeros
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes when we camp in Routt NF, Labor Day weekend is when the deer hunters make the Boondocking compounds and bring the ATV’s. Looks like it starts 9/7.
Day 139 catch up watch. Rampart Road is horrible. Each year a few bodies turn up. Fights and confrontations are common place. Get through there quickly.

Hey Matt. I too hope you have a better day tomorrow.
The Rampart Range is always a fun starting point for a Colorado adventure if you're visiting the Front Range area during the summer, or _early_ fall.
"do something else fun", "my feet are hurting too much", you are a true Masochist!
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
Thanks
How do you keep your phone/camera charged when you're camping? Do you have a little mini-solar setup?

Campground hosts are a very special breed. They are most probably the head of their HOA back home. Always seem to be on a slight power trip.
It depends on the campground. I’ve run into some really kind laid back ones. As with rangers the busier the park the more tyrannical they seem to get
You can do it !
I would love it if you did the Hayduke Trail. It looks amazing and very remote.
It is right up our alley and on the plan for some point. The hard part is Jen‘s schedule.

Yea, and that’s the problem. For all her time off in the summer Jen doesn’t have any flexibility outside of that
The CT is fun if you like bikes coming down switchbacks at forty miles an hour and even dirt bikes on one stretch .
That is unfortunately a reality in a lot of places

No feet and painful water maybe?
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes lol!!!😂
You should circle back and take the north alternate route back east and then go back through Kansas again! It's what the people want to see.
I was thinking I propose to taters we walk the edge of the entire state of Kansas. Really dig in and experience the heat and the corn…
Your lungs sound so much better!!
Lungs got better but feet got worse for a little bit unfortunately

mountain dew? i'll have a crab juice!
It didn’t help that you were up on Rampart Range Rd on a 3-day weekend. Nasty business, that.

So are you saying you’re “on the road to Shamballa?” lol
(So sorry for the ear-bug this may cause for anyone who reads this who’s old like me. lol)
can't u snowshoe over the sierra nevada
Ups truck? How much water you got, my mind's a little hazy...
Hmm?
At this point you may have to start listening to John Denver... It's the law!
The problem with singing Rocky Mountain High is this trail keeps dropping me back down into the scrub…
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes But you have to admit, this trip you have always had sunshine on your shoulders :)
@RICHIEV333 but it sure as hell has not made me happy. One could make the argument that Mountain roads are taking me towards home now though.
Ok, so this was the next day, but you had skipped posting yesterday, right?
I so enjoy keeping up with you. Blessings

When does hunting season start? Labor Day weekend I thought. Boondockers everywhere
Really depends on what sort of hunting. There are multiple different seasons
