- I took my Canon 7D and my EF-S 10-18mm STM IS lens down to Hayburn Wyke to photograph the sunrise. This is the first time I've used this camera and lens combination and I was pleasantly surprised by just how well the combination worked.

I just order one near mint from eBay, I’m new to photography so I’m super excited.
A year after getting my first DSLR, a Canon 7D, I'll be meeting up with my son for his first time to the Oregon coast. I'm now realizing a wide angle would probably be a great lens to have with, so just ordered one of these. I'll have this same set-up you're using for similar setting :)

Thanks Kevin. That 10-18 is one of the best APSC lenses out there I think. Image quality v price is second to none. I’ve never owned an 80D though. How’s it compare to the 7D?

That is the camera that taught me everything about the manual settings. I still have my canon 7d .. now I am curious to own a m4/3 camera . I already own nikon z5 and fujifilm xs10. Is the olympus epl9 great camera?

This reminds me very much of my local area! Some really lovely shots! I wish I had your eye. I'm still learning and noticed I'm very much struggling with composition and ideas while out in the field. There's just so much to see and wrap your head around as a beginner haha. Would you ever consider night photography / night landscapes. I gave it a shot the other night, was very fun but I really struggled Although It was more of a mess around than anything serious. I was just happy I managed to get the bare bone basic ideas somewhat down (better luck next time!).
You’ll get the hang of it in time. I have tried night landscapes but I’m just not big of a fan. I don’t mind grabbing Milky Way photos now and then but I find night time stuff to be a chore. I might make a video with the Milky Way in a couple of weeks for a bit of fun though.

Have a look at K&F Concept. Their filters aren’t too bad and don’t cost the Earth to buy.
i have a 7d and really struggling to get images that good
Light mostly that’s the big one. Get out early, stay out late and look for medium to high altitude clouds. The rest is down to you.
Some cracking shots there, Chris. I'm loving the 7D. If you're up for a challenge get out of your comfort zone and try some sports photography. I did some on Friday and had a blast. I put up a vid of them if you want to see them ;)

@Jethro Busby Yes, mate. I was looking at the Sigma 10-20mm as well, but decided to go for the Canon because it had better reviews.

Hey is the canon eos 4000d + 10-18mm is a good combo ? Im a beginner in astrophotography and still leanring the basics
If you can get to a dark area and keep the lens at its widest for the wider aperture you might get away with it. Have a look at the 24mm 2.8 lens if you’re going down the Canon crop route.

That’s the Camera I was using it with. Works with an EF-S (Canon crop body ) camera.
