I notice my mixes sound better with less plugins. If the sound files or the source files sound already good, then I will need the least amount of EQ+Compression+Effects on it as possible. I use to also just put my reverb and delays on the track effects itself only to realize having it on the bus or send track sound WAY better and just blending it in slowly.
That's the way to do it! Use the most appropriate microphone for whatever source you're recording. Ensure good gainstaging and eliminate as much noise as possible including the air conditioner and animals LOL. Back when this UA-cam channel first started I made a video called microphones are equalizers. And the point of that video was that depending on which microphone you choose and how it is positioned will have a huge effect when what gets recorded. All that being said, there's a reason recording studios have equalizers and compressors. So I purposely separate my process between mix prep/virtual recording studio and mixing for that very reason. If I am the recording equipment such as a Neve 1081 or Distressor, then I would record with them before hitting the converter. In the end it makes mixing much easier like you said. In a future video I will use the equalizers on an affordable mixer board along with two hardware compressors while recording. It should be an interesting experiment! I don't normally touch cheap EQs but what the heck... Why not for a UA-cam video? The greatest challenge will be properly monitoring the signal... So I will probably have to take advantage of remote computer software, in which case the living room will become the studio and the attic will be the control room. Although it may be possible to record in the basement, the Wi-Fi can be finicky and I don't feel like moving a bunch of equipment for one session. 😅
Great list! So many good plugins. Echoboy is still one of the best delays despite its age. I hope they start developing again. Valhalla are great too and punch above their weight. Voxengo Guis! LOL. I also have Nimbus (I had it before they were sold to Izotope). But I don't use it anymore because I'm not sure what's going to happen to Izotope in the future. So I use a lot of the Liquid Sonics reverbs at the moment. The IK Multimedia tape machines are awesome! They replaced the VTM for me.
Two possibilities: My interface latency was set to 128 (forgot to change it back to 512/1024.for voice over recordings) and I had 30 Chrome tabs open. The problem appeared to start when I opened up a set of plugins. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't have more than 8 plugins on a given track, so the computer flipped out. Unfortunately, my screen capture software programs do not support ASIO, which may have avoided the issue altogether.
The evidence is literally in his video at ua-cam.com/video/j_9Larw-hJM/v-deo.html He took two videos and did not give them credit/a link in the description. It wasn't the first time and it certainly won't be the last.

Howdy, do you know what caused the glitch?

can you please make a video how you use true balance during mixing and mastering?
Thanks for asking! I used TB in this video ua-cam.com/video/rJIDuEausfY/v-deo.html but it's such a good tool, a follow up one should be on the agenda!
What is the real use of tape machines in mixing or mastering?
Saturation and glue (tape compression) depending on how hard you hit it.
No title? No link? You know, I'm not the biggest Beato fan in the world, but when you accuse someone of stealing you need to back it up, son.
