You also have to consider that Rhaenyra is also a member of House Arryn through her mother, Queen Aemma Arryn, so it stands to reason that the familial connection would play a part in House Arryn siding with the Blacks, and because the Vale is currently ruled by Lady Jeyne Arryn, a woman also trying to keep the title that is rightfully hers from a male relative.
HOTD is a worthy GOT prequel in every sense, and I patiently await Season 2’s arrival each day. I loved the friend-to-foe dynamics between Rhaenyra and Alicent.

House of Dragon was a great show but it is kind of hard to get too excited knowing the great prophecy this house based everything around was a short battle that ended when the head bad guy got a wound most of the other characters could shrug off. And the book was great too but it was difficult to read knowing the story would never be concluded.
I would have personally put “The unpredictability of dragons” somewhere on the list, and then “The death of Lucerys“ as number one. The first to show that dragons cannot always be controlled, and being foreshadowing for number one, and then, when you talk about his death, ego more into detail about how Aemond Was not able to control his dragon, and that’s how the death happened. Then he could go on to say that there was no chance for peace after her son was attacked and killed, even if unintentionally, this, having the fire and blood that you talked about. But yes, cannot wait for the second season!
Not really, the books will show us how it ends….. if GRRM finishes them! The season 8 debacle was a disaster that only GRRM can fix. Would it be wrong to imprison him until he finishes the books?
Am I the only one thinking that Alicent knew about Visery's prophecy but took advantage of the situation to strengthen the claim of his Son? I mean, even her tonal expressions in the trailer (apart from the lake scene) seem off with regards to all the events that will have ensued in season 2.

I'm sure that he even expanded on the subject with her in those 20 years of their marriage. In the trailer and the stills she seems nervous as though she's hiding some secret. Maybe we could get a "who killed Jon Arryn" type of twist reveal in the second season.
The way they've written Alicent is aggravating and it's hard for me to feel sorry for her. I would love to say that Alicent didn't know..however...she's not a dumb woman. She really believed that Aegon, her son the drunken rapist, is capable of leading a horse to water and making it drink? Common sense has to come in to play somewhere.

The difference between "The Game of Thrones" series and "The House of the Dragon" series is this... Both still have NUDITY.... but in "The Game of Thrones," the Main Characters as well as Secondary/Supporting Characters (actors & actresses), do the nudity (2 thumbs up!)... while in "The House of the Dragon," only the EXTRAS (filler/non-dialogue background characters), do the nudity... they could easily hire unknown pornographic actresses and actors with cheaper fees/remuneration to do the nudity in that case (2 thumbs down)... Facts and Truth of the Matters...
