Use SNAP funding while looking for a great paying job. Use clothing vouchers and food pantry food. Stay at a homeless shelter if you must to not be a camper overnight. Use governmental insurance. This is temporary!
I'm unemployed. From day one, my alarm goes off 5:30am. Get up, shower etc , get dressed. I go to library regularly, have an occasional coffee. Getting out the house is very important. Do small projects at home, painting and home maintenance... Stuff that doesn't cost a lot of money. Mediate 5 min 3 times a day. Routine is important. Walks at the beach are good. Walking at the shops amongst people is good too.
My new routine is to go to sleep before 9 p.m., then wake up and take a shower, make breakfast and eat breakfast. Then, the rest depends on the to do list, have three meals, brush my teeth after every meal and take a shower sometime after a work out and before bed. It's new for me to just do small things per day instead of large things for a day or two.
Great advice. Keep active - physically and mentally - and look at it as a great opportunity to start a business, even if its going to be part-time in the event you do find another full-time job.
Hi I am on a summer break with no pay, not working until the school opens I only work as a part time driver. I realized it is still hard to apply for one job in my mid 50’s. Being single is depressing at times. I have no siblings, parents passed away, and a good family friend also passed away. In 2023 th economy is slow. I hear job scams for some job websites which prevents me to apply. I am going to therapy. I should meditate and take it easy. Wish you well 😀👍
Been unemployed a few times (but 2 of the times I was on mat leave). Definitely agree the getting dressed and ready for the day helps with your pysche!
This is a great video! I work on content and production, but fail at the marketplace. I don't have the hunger for revenue. I'm stuck in the passion of creativity! I could use earnings to live near my guy at the lovely state of Virginia!
Cass, step two is hard for me because it costs money to go out and come back. It also makes me spend more money to eat out or unhealthy meals to prepare, etc. So, I tend to go out just twice a week.
We recently moved to a new state and before that I was mostly retired for 4 years. Because of the union pension rules, I am not allowed to work in the same job field. I spent my entire life learning those skills, so it's like starting over. I'm only able to stand for 4-5 hours a day because of a medical condition. Your videos are inspiring. This is day two on my journey. :-)
Hi Cassandra! I love all your videos and tips on interviews! I was wondering if you could make a video on how to answer questions on why you have been unemployed for a certain time (because you have been struggling to find work)? Thanks!
Hey Cassandra! When on an interview how do you answer the question, so what have you been doing lately? Or how long has it been since you've worked or been unemployed? How does one answer this question when they've been unemployed for a good period of time? Thank you for all your videos, you have been most helpful. BTW, sitting in my Starbucks office as I write this comment :-)
Wow!! GREAT content!! Really thankful for your advice. I just hit a bad transition of unemployment and unfortunately even lost the ability to work on my own UA-cam channel for a year due to a non-compete clause. Bad deal but I never plan to fail. Maybe that's the lesson. Anyway, floating on and found your video a gem. Thank you !!
Matthew The Great Coin Roll Hunter glad it helped. I feel like those periods of unemployment are not something we always talk about and they need to be acknowledged.
Been unemployed now almost 5 months and I had two temporary jobs. I had one temp job for three days and they let me go saying the training lasted 1 hour and 30 mins instead of 30 mins. and the other lasted one day and the company said I would get bored with the job and said I should be working in a bigger company. I have had plenty of interviews but they pick someone else over me. I have over 20 year admin experience, 2 years of accounts payable and 20 years of customer service experience. I had my resume re-written too. Is it me or just the job market?
Genuine question, what if one is an unemployed fresh grad that doesn't even have the money to be outside frequently? Unemployed and broke type of thing. It's so hard to find a job, I have submitted a lot of job applications and haven't heard of any from them. I'm still in my senior year in Uni though but I really am scared for when I will graduate in the coming months. Thankfully, I'm from a country where living with parents if you're still not married no matter how old you are is normal. But I really don't want to be a burden anymore.
I got fired 5 days ago, and it seems like I've been unemployed for a month. I'm plugging in resumes L and R, so imma use these tips to maintain my sanity!
I came up with with an Idea, that im 6' tall male. Maybe I just get lean and start using face masks all day long as my new 9-17 work. Maybe I can just get popular and convert it to money🤣😉 to be honest this fitness thing is hard
I have failed in everything in my life, cheaters have taken a lot of money from me because I am simple. I have a bank loan, I have to pay 50 thousand a month, now I am completely broke. I have no job, no money, no car, the house will be taken by the bank if I can't do the loan council on time. My whole family is dying in front of my mouth, I am a graphic designer, fairly computer expert, I have the ability to do any kind of work online and I can speak and write good English. Now I can't find any way to face my death, please help me with a job or else I will have to hide behind the illusion of the world. please help me with a job if remote job no problem I can do it😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I can't stand this it's driving me nuts.Im the kind of person that has too be busy ,when I was working I had to be reminded to take my vacation days.Im OK being off on a holiday but beyond that I rather work. Its summer an you would think there's so much too do but no.I just want to go back too work.I like the way it was.Go too work get paid an not be suck with my lab top or phone An trying too remember, when the heck was the day I started this job or that job.An references an phone numbers an hoping you didn't do that app too fast an it end up sloppy looking. Then that whole resume stuff an all the spelling checks date check that stresses me out.Im not ment for a office job but by the time I done I'll have all the software for office in my house .I hate paper work I always have.
How have you dealt with unemployment?
We know so many hardworking, talented people who are struggling to find jobs! Great tips!

For me, I just ignored from people around me who said that I was unemployed.
Enjoy the time off. Split tasks into time segments and accomplish them. Work out as well.

Love tip #3! Routines are so important to keep you on track during unemployment!

Some sections of society blame the unemployed for the condition they’re in. Being without a job can occur to any man or woman.

I'll try to. I'll also say any of the videos about having little to no experience will help on this as well.
@@CassThompsonConsulting Thanks Cassandra!
