I held off on Kaweco for awhile as well, but the first Skyline Sport I purchased rapidly won me over. I have several plastic versions with different nibs. Last year I took the leap and purchased the Vibrant Violet AL Sport; I love the color, and I really love the matte finish. I end up using the pen as a fidget in my hand and writing with it any chance I get because it's such a pleasure to hold. Thanks for this interesting look at the two models.
Totally worth the extra cost. I have 2 Classic Sports, 1 Skyline and 1 Frosted. So far I have 3 AL Sports: black, gold and the collection purple. Always looking for a sale on the AL Sport. Still want a red and anthracite. But the feel and sound always makes me go for the AL Sport. It simply makes me very happy.
Good idea for a review. I haven't seen one like it before. I didn't know that the AL was slightly different from the Skyline. Maybe if I decide to buy a Kaweco, I will go for the AL - more expensive, but I like the feel of a heavier pen. Thank you.
With a flick of the fingers, the AL Sport cap spins on more satisfyingly than the plastic version. Given that both pens will probably last a lifetime, the extra cost of each capping's greater tactile joy will be negligible.
I'd never noticed the difference in size. On checking, I find that the Brass sport is significantly longer than the AL! Another point about the AL: it feels cold to the touch in lower temperatures (i.e., most of the time in the UK).
I love my Kaweco Sport but it is too light and a fraction to short for me. Despite that, it’s a keeper. I just won’t be buying any more of this model. I bought a 1.1 mm stub nib for mine and made it ten times more fun to write with 🎉

I love the sound of uncapping and posting the Al Sport. It’s so satisfying. ☺️

Thanks Mick really useful

Really can’t stand pocket pens especially Kaweco. Love the channel though. Thanks
