The teenager with cancer who spread awareness of her cause, on her last days on this earth deserved that award. Sorry but that is more inspirational and sends out a good message, more than just becoming trans gendered. In society being a trans-gender is accepted now, but that girl used up her precious last moments to help out others which is a righteousness thing to do. I also wish Malala was nominated for this award, since she stood up for the rights to education for young women in her country even at the risk of losing her life.
Jose Atriano Yeah that's true but I feel like someone giving up their last moments to spread and raise awareness of a disease, is more impacting than a transgender coming out. Even if transgender people are dying, more people have become tolerant of it. Plus the president even made a law for the LGBT society (including transgendered) to freely marry.
So things are getting better for the transgendered. Plus this is an award for women, and Catlyin has not been one for even a year and wins? Even if Malala has a nobel peace prize, it doesn't mean she can't win any other awards. This award is supposed to be for woman, that make an impact for other woman. Malala and the young decreased teen have done that. What Catlyin did was for the LGBT community and not for woman in particular.

This is so annoying, I am a real woman and I have been through things that Bruce can't possibly understand I had a tumor on my uterus, I had the tumor and the uterus removed, but I am not asking for an award, or asking to be called courageous because of what I went through. Bruce couldn't possible understand what it is really like, to suffer the daily struggle of being a woman. Women have had to fight for everything we want, Bruce is a privileged male who hasn't had to struggle to get the things he wanted, he should have been content with that. As a woman I get treated as a second class citizen I have had to fight for equality, to be equal to a man and get things that are denied to me because I am not a man . Bruce is making a mockery of what it means to be a woman.
