GODDAMN !!! LEWITT what have you done??? this is sooooooo awesome ... what kind of wizards are working at lewitt ? that is simply amazing! ... i'm stunned
Thanks! We are also still pretty amazed by it - does like everything. New videos in the making by the way ... played around with stereo recording setups. Pretty awesome ...
Depends on what you want to record! If you're the experimental type or also record instruments like drums, acoustic guitars, the LCT 640 TS will definitely make you super happy. But then again, both will 😉 If you have any specific questions, we're always happy to help!
I cant wait to try this in front of drums as a room mic. either facing the drumset and a wall or L/R. then play around with the polar patterns and try different settings in the verse and the chorus sections. making it more distant / in your face or just widen it up when it needs to. the example with the pinball machine sounds so crisp and snappy. and i mean in a pleasent way, really catching those transients . on headphones it sounds almost binaural to me. I also would love to hear it on an acoustic guitar or maybe on strings. The idea with the plugin seems to be quite a gamechanger. just thinking about it gives me Gear Aquisition Syndrome ;)
@@LEWITT-audio A very, very nice microphone indeed. I do like the plug in possibilities, but it is the sound itself that pleases me most, very precise, without being agressive, very natural. Some would argue that it lack a bit of warmth, but for me it does exactly what I need. Good job guys.
Hello dear Houman. The LCT 640 TS would shine when recording violins. You can try stereo recording with it, or just experiment which polar pattern works best.
I want the best voice narration/voice acting mic in history by you guys at an affordable price (440/540) is what you recommended so i'll try the 440 first
Hi, I'm undecided whether to buy the 540 or this, the 640. I have to use it for my voice so no tools or various ASMRs.. what do you recommend? above all I wanted to know the substantial differences of the two, thanks in advance!
Hi there and thx for your interest. The most substantial difference lies in the feature set. The LCT 640 TS comes with many different polar patterns and stereo functionality. If you just record your voice and don't need more functions, you can go for the LCT 540 S. If you have any further questions, we're always happy to help!
Hi there, the LCT 640 Authentica was a high quality multipattern studio microphone with low noise floor and great clean sound. This microphone was discontinued quite some time ago. The next generation of this microphone, the LCT 640 TS comes with the additional feature of the dual output mode which enables stereo recording, as well as changing the polar pattern after recording with our Polarizer plugin. I hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any further questions!
I can't help but wonder why not just have a single 5 pin XLR connector with both channels on it?? And how could I mount this in a blimp for stereo field recording.
We could have done this and have it break out to two XLR male connectors (like we do with DTP 640 REX), but either way you're using an adapter cable of some kind. We don't expect the dual output mode setup to be the primary use case. Most people will use this as a multi-pattern mic, so it's easier to have it function like all other mics with a standard bottom XLR connection and then have a side XLR port for the dual output option when needed.
So .. wait. I put this in 'use the plugin' mode with dual output, capsule facing to the sound source, say, a drum kit. Then I duplicate the recording, twice. I add polarizer on all all three copies. I set the first to omni, the second to figure 8, and the third to cardioid, invert the polarity of the figure 8, sum it with the omni and now that together with the cardioid means I have a M/S recording with one mic (albeit with a little bit weird polar-shaped S channel)? Turn by 90 degrees to get a very narrow pickup pattern for the source in M? Off-axis (90°) colorization starts where, between 8k and 16k? If my assumption is correct, would it be worth adding this feature to the polarizer, to offer true M/S output of a LCT 640 TS "out of the box"?
Hi there, normally we use the LCT640 in MS mode with one omni-, and one figure of eight channel. Your scenario seems like a very fun experiment! Thanks for the input on our Polarizer plugin.😊
looks like a great innovation, Is it suitable for stage using omnidirectional Mode,( best suitable mode for my instrument) was looking at LCT 040,low mass mic, suggestion would be helpful, Thank you
There is the LCT 40 M2 - a stereo bar for accurate positioning of microphones such as LCT 040 MATCH. It should be compatible with most of the standard microphone stands.
Hi Vicky, thanks for your question! Usually we recommend a stereo pair of LCT540 S microphones for ASMR recording, but the LCT 640 TS should work excellent as well.😊
HI, I have an other question about this mic, Can we connect headphones on the microphone in order to have a return of sound when we speak ? Thank you 🥰
Hi Jason, different microphones come with different pros, but in general you can't go wrong with the LCT440 PURE, especially for streaming use cases. 😉

Yes that was the general idea. I mean, playing around with room sound and "moving something" in the mix - not causing you GAS. Well, both actually ...
Hands down, bought it online today, after seeing lots of reviews about it. Hope I won't be disappointed ;)
