This guy prefers stiff/rigid nibs and have for a half century. This style of nib was used in many later 'lesser' models; I have a couple of NOS ones in palladium silver. Great writers. Great video!
Dude thanks so much for this! I’ve been looking for a replacement sac for the Valiant I just recently inherited and couldn’t find anywhere whether I needed the necked or straight sac. Also looking at how much resistance you had on the fill slide, I think I may need to also replace the o-ring. Wish me luck with that! 😅
Triumph nibs are in fact nail'ish but with polished point they wright extremely smooth. Additionaly being stiff they are also extremely strong an resilient, once I have dropped my one unintentionally straight to the wooden floor from 1,5m nib down, fortunately nib stay intact and wrires as nothing happens. All above is for 14kt, palladium(unsigned) seems to be more fragile because they have thinner cross-section and be easier to deform.
I think these triunph nibs might be about a half gram of 14k. They are huge gold nibs in comparison to any other gold nib. Great pen. I like eversharps the sheaffers with the triumph niph and maybe the parker 51 and less so the 61 for top vintage pens. I like the 61 better than the 51 with parker but they are made of a brittle plastic so they can actually crack.
@@aidanbernal That’s what we used and recommended way back in my pen days. Easier access for selling staff. Silicone grease back then would have only been available by the tub load, probably from a builders merchants! Furniture polish, no matter what brand will contain lubricants and oils. As well you know. 😊
My friend, I have sheaffer imperial II deluxe pen. Unfortunately the ink rubber catridge is broken. Can I replace it with piston converter? Could you advise? Thanks
I really enjoy this. It’s good to see a young man knowledgeable in vintage pens
Your review was crucial in my purchasing one of this. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Gorgeous pen and great review. Thank you, Aidan!
Thank you Oleg!!
Good overview of a good pen - the Triumph nibs are among my favorite daily writers. Thanks for the review!
Thank you very much!! Gotta agree there, Triumph nibs are workhorses through and through :)
I like the touchdowns. I have 2. Another good modern pen is the pelikan m200. M400 if you want a gold nib.

Hiya Aidan, Thanks very much for a really great video, from a new subscriber in England.
I also like eversharp for a vintage pen. They have an elegant design. Especially the symphony pens. The better level ones have a larger nib.

If the pencil mech is too tight, a trick we used to use was either a squirt of WD40 or furniture polish.
Actually, you know what, that's a great solution. Thank you, I'll give that a go!

Thank you!! :)
Helpful guide, thanks! What was that Sheaffer vacuum filer? Name and model?
Thanks! It was a Sheaffer Valiant Triumph Vac-Fil (long cap band).
@@aidanbernal Thanks again!
