As other commenters will no doubt inform you, every Sabaton song (except some of their very earliest work) is based around a specific event, person, or technological development from the history of warfare. None of it is to glorify war itself, but to elevate and remember those who have sacrificed for their country or for causes they believed in. I could easily name a dozen songs that I'd love to see reactions to, but if you're specifically looking for a live performance, you can't beat "En Livstid I Krig (Live the Great Tour)." In Swedish (the band's native tongue) that means 'A Lifetime of War', and it's about the 30 years' war and the cost paid by many Swedes who were born during that war, grew up and were enlisted, then went out to fight and far too often never returned.
OoO!!!! YOU’RE GETTING ME EXCITED!!!!!!
@@SkyAndersonReacts use captions so you understand what they are Singing about on "en livstid i krig"
I was there in Gothenburg when they did en livstid i krig, I can only agree with you.
@@SkyAndersonReacts En Livstid I Krig would be a great choice. It's listed on UA-cam as SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg). English subtitles are available.
These were generically called Crusaders. These could gave been The Knights of Malta. That was an order of warrior monks.
Hey Skye! In case you were wondering, this song is about how the Swiss Guard, in 1527, protected the Pope as he fled Rome.
189 Swiss Guards fell to enemy forces as they attempted to kill or capture the Pope.
Sabaton is the history you didn't know you needed, to say the least. And every song they've made has a historical story behind it (yes, even Metal Machine). Here's some of my favorite songs that Sabaton has done:
1. Christmas Truce. This is about the "Christmas Truce" of World War I.
2. Fields of Verdun. This is about the Battle of Verdun in World War I, which is a battle that lasted 303 days, and by the end had over 700,000 casualties.
3. Bismarck. This song is about the KMS Bismarck, the largest battleship built in Europe, that sank in 1940.
4. Night Witches. This song is about the all-woman 588th Night Bombing Regiment of the Soviet Air Forces, that fought the German Army during World War II.
5. Defense of Moscow. This song is about the defense of Moscow during Operation: Typhoon in 1941, during the German invasion, code-named "Operation: Barbarossa."
6. No Bullets Fly. This song is about how, on 20 December 1943, a German BF-109 pilot saved an American B-17F bomber from her destruction.
7. Final Solution. This song is about the Holocaust, and how the Holocaust happened. It is one of Sabaton's songs that has been considered "controversial," because of the subject matter, when all Sabaton does is tell the story, whether tragic or beautiful. If you react to this, be sure to have tissues on hand, as it is not an easy video to watch. But it is one, I believe, that should be shown in every American public school.
Sorry, but it's the SWISS Guard...
I couldn't put together a better list.
@@swissguy8052 : Yes, you are correct, lol. I myself have Swedish ancestry, but I forget it was the Swiss who are closer to Rome than Sweden is. My apologies.

Brief information on Sabaton. They are a Swedish "power metal" band whose songs are based on war and things in history.
They choose no side or political viewpoints and just tell the story. All the stories they tell are true, and they even have a second channel, Sabaton History, that tells the song's stories in more depth.
suggested songs, Night witches (great story about Russian female aviators), No Bullets Fly (fantastic story, get ready for a good cry) Christmas Truce (is there Magnum Opus in my mind)
I love that combination of both!!!!
I think you were trying to refer to the Knights Templar, but the song is about the Swiss Guard
No Bullets Fly Animated should be the next Sabaton reaction! Such a beautiful story!
OoO!! Sounds interesting!!
@@SkyAndersonReactsI’m happy to see you again.
@@SkyAndersonReacts yes No bullets fly animated STORY video is fantastic and emotional
Do everyone a big favor and be sure to watch “No Bullets Fly Official Animated Story Video”. The band released two versions of the video one is a condensed version and the other one is a full story video with music and that is the one you need to watch and you’ll know the reason why after you watch it trust me. Also have some Kleenex nearby just in case.
@@andrewludwig9251 I will right now.
Is the Knights Templar what you were thinking of? If you check out the video to Christmas Truce, you will see Hanes, Floor Jansen’s husband and Sabaton’s drummer play a lead role, and you will hear Floor’s voice at the end.
Knights Templar, and also one of the main characters was a Hospitaller.
This channel is a goddamn gem. Amazing sound, amazing on everything!
The song is about the Swiss guard that sacrificed themselves to protect the pope during the sack of Rome. One of my favorite songs from Sabaton.
Wow nice reaction. You can't do wrong with Sabaton.
This is a fan made video from a swedish movie called Arn the Knightstemplar which take place in 1175 during the crusades in the Middle East.
The Sabaton song The Last Stand take place in the Vatican in 1527 telling the story about the swiss guard who protects the Pope.
It is a bit annoying, but the video has nothing to do with this Sabaton song.
Great reaction anyway ❤
Welcome to the fan family - Sabaton. From the songs of this band you will learn more about history than from school. The band has nothing against fans creating music videos for their songs. Because, for example, the music video for the song 40-1 was made by a fan. It then became the official music video. The band also has its own historical channel where they talk more about the events of the music videos.
Great reaction, and yes, they incorporate a choir in a backing track. Lots of great Sabaton songs to choose from depending on what you prefer from hard driving metal like "Ghost Division" and "40:1" (watch the live versions from 2012 Poland Woodstock festival, after all 550K+ Poles can't be wrong) to heart rending ballads like "En Livsid i Krig" (the live version from the Great Tour in Gothenburg, in Swedish with English subtitles) or "Christmas Truce." This video used film clips from the movie "Arn the Night Templar"," but the song is actually about the sacrifice of the 189 Swiss Guardsmen in 1527 in protecting the Pope from unpaid troops of the Holy Roman Emperor who sacked the city. Happy New Year and keep rocking.
Yeah, the Knights Templar basically "vanished" from history a little more than 200 years earlier than the "sack of Rome". The Pope and the King of France was afraid that these Knights eventually would turn against them and banned them. Many of them got killed in the conflict.
@@lionfromthenorth4580 Correct. Phillip IV owed the Templars a vast amount of money due to his war with England and forced Pope Clement to arrest them based on accusations about their secret initiation ceremony being anti-Christian. Many were tortured into false confessions and killed, some being burned at the stake. Interestingly, they were arrested on Friday, Oct 13, 1307. Some believe this is the origin of the superstition about Friday the 13th.
Sabaton is the best there is! The name you search for is I believe "Crusaders" Always telling us a story from the past with GREAT music!!!!!
Yes that’s it!!! Crusaders!!! I love that combination of music and history!!!!!
@@SkyAndersonReacts This song isnt really about the Crusades tho so the video is misleading. This is about the 189 of the Swissguard who in the year 1527 saved the pope in Rome by bringing him through some secret passage and brought him to Castel Sant Angelo.
This too was my first listen to Sabaton..I got a knights Templar vibe... the writing reminds me of Iron maiden style songs about historical events.. loved this and your reaction❤️
Awesome to see you getting to this great band. Thanks for the vid! :)
You managed to randomly pick one my top 5 Sabaton songs. Good job!
I just stumbled upon your channel lol but I enjoyed your reaction… You may have been think about the Knights Templar of the Crusades.
The video shows the Christian Crusaders in the wars against the Muslims (you may have been thinking of some of the holy orders that were there like the Knights Templar and Knights Hospitaller). The song is actually about the Swiss guards who protected the Pope and the Vatican during the sack of Rome in 1527.
How about reacting to Sabaton's "Bismarck" This is about the sinking of a German battleship during World War II and there's some nice animation accompanying the music.
As mentioned the song is about the Swiss Guard. The images are crusader knights.
Here some information about Sabaton.
Sabaton is a Swedish Power Metal band from Falun, which was formed in 1999. The band's songs are inspired by various historical wars. Even the band name is military inspired, as Sabaton is also the name of the part of the armor that covers the foot.
I agree with en livstid I krig you could how moved Jocke was
"very very very good" that was all our initial reactions ... welcome to the club babe
Idk if you listened to sabaton Bismarck but my grandfather served on her till her sinking in 1941 and I love the song it's my favorite highly recommend it
It's a song about Papal Swiss guard (yea those funny guys with steel helmets and halberds). On May 6th, 1527, Papal State was attacked by thousands of mercenaries. 147 Swiss guards defended Rome as the other 42 led the pope to safety. All 147 died, but bought time with their lives for the pope to escape to St. Angelo fortress. To this day, Swiss guards protect the pope and new recruits are sworn in on May 6th.
As for song request, Sabaton has may excellent songs. I'd recommend these:
Fields of Verdun (WW1)
Last Dying Breath (defense of Belgrade, WW1)
Shiroyama (the last stand of the samurai)
Winged Hussars (siege of Vienna by the Turks, 1683)
Uprising (Warsaw uprising against the nazis, WW2)
Carolus Rex + Long live the king (Swedish king Charles XII).
Definitely can’t go wrong with Sabaton!!!! Check out Tommy Johansson’s channel. He’s one of the guitarists from Sabaton. His voice is EPIC!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!!
Sabaton is a GOAT level band. They're just simply amazing.
A common comment you'll see on their videos is, "Sabaton is the type of band that will make you feel patriotic for a country you've never been to." And it's true.
But in this case, as a Catholic, the song takes me on an emotional journey and makes me feel like defending my faith with my life.
Do Bismarck by sabaton it’s soooo good
10+ albums of Sabatonic Metal to go - History taught with Metal.
They also have the Sabaton History Channel that expands on the subject of the songs.
You should try watching the official video for the song (it's a live performance and it is bloody great). The Band consists of Joakim Brodén (singer and keyboards), Per Sundstrom (Bas), Chris Rörland (Guitar), Tommy Johansen (Guitar) and Hannes Van Dahl (drummer and married to Floor from Nightwish). All band members except Hannes sings back, choir sounds are often made by layering the band members (female voices are often Joakims mother and some of her friends). Tommy has his own band where he is the lead singer, and a youtube channel where he makes all sorts of covers,
Just comment about the video, no it is not the official video. The clips were primarily from the movie, "Kingdom of Heaven," which is about the crusades. The song us about the Swiss Guard when the Vatican was invaded by the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles the 5th.
Best live performance, their "Uprising" performance in Warsaw.
Sabaton just got a price for people builder. Because all lyrics are historical correct.
Love you Sky !!
Aww Steve thank you! I hope you are doing good!
Yes thank you, just had dinner and a few 🍺 just wish i could have a toke 😉😉
Hope you had a great day !
Fun Fact: The drummer of Sabaton is also married to the one and only Floor Jansen the lead vocalist of Nightwish and considered by many to be the greatest female vocalist in the world (they don't call her the Queen Valkyrie Goddess for nothing).
This song is about the Swiss Guard protecting the Pope in the Sack of Rome in 1527.
I recommend see:

OMG!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The movie is ARN, the temple knight!
This video is a fanmade video, the song is about the sack of Rome 1527 when the Swiss garde saved the pope
Glad you enjoyed, happy seeing a new member to the Sabaton Army.
Perhaps next check out more Swedish Heavy Metal with the band Amon Amarth, I think the song "The Great Heathen Army" would be a great introduction to their catalog.
Hope things improve with your neighbors, if things get too bad I suggest documenting incidents. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, just am aware of how frustrating it can be. Safe travels and take care.
Check out Sabaton Bismarck. Gotta watch the music video
Carolus rex ( English version) is banging, and I'm off to see them in April!!! Or ghost division, another banger ( live )
I would highly recommend the official vids instead of the fanmade ones
Fbombs away !!! Knights Templar
some of there best live performances is in my opinion: en livstid i krig live from gothenburg. but highly recommend uprising live from woodstock and 40:1 from the same concert

Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Sabaton. I will not recommend any songs, you already got a bunch of good suggestions, but I would like to recommend their official Sabaton History Channel, if you want to learn more about the events in the songs.
Nice reaction!
by now you know the drummer Hannes is married to Floor sabaton is my fav band epica ansd nightwish are next

The imo best Sabaton "chorus" is in Hearts of Iron.
ooo I have to listen now!!!!
Uprising Live in Warsaw !!!
They are one of the biggest power metal band out there, the music makes the history come alive. The next sabaton song should be bismark or hell fighters.🤘🏼
The video is from the movies about Arn - The Knight Templar.
Your subscribers are way up from when l first joined myself. You deserve so much more though for all the work you put in. Sorry l haven't interacted as much as l should, But the sexy videos just torment me on the other side of the planet. 😂
bismark is a good one
Yes, Bismarck is a good choice.
Describing knights as "the not vikings" might be the best thing ive heard this week lmao
But yeah id recommend listening to more of their songs especially if you like history cos its all based on true stories
Edit: also i think you were thinking of the word crusaders but the song is actually about the swiss guard
Sabatons drummer is married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish
Sabaton want disapoint , the sound good live too maybe even better . Good reaction !
please react to price of a mile
The name you're looking for Crusade!
Ahh this video is not officially Sabaton. Its a mishmash from movies about the Crusade and the song is about the Swiss guards last stand during the sack of Rome about 500 years later.
The song is awesome but the official videos are better and Sabaton has a historychannel where they break down every history behind the song.
I suggest 'En Livstid i krig' live in Gothenburg.
Masterclass Tip on doing song reactions: Bring the video back a few seconds after pausing to maintain the flow of the song.
crusaders? or templars? the actual movies in the background (yes really) are Arn the templar a swedish/danish/norwegian movie and the kingdom of heaven both awesome. though you might need subs for the first one since its mostly in swedish
Pleases come back to Nightwish. I miss you! :)
Ghost Division is one of the best songs
Welcome to the Sabaton rabbit hole. It's more a foxhole really.
An important thing to know about about Sabaton songs is that they're about actual historical events with an emphasis on historical accuracy.
Si pero el video no va con la realidad. Esos son cruzados. Nada ke ver con los tercios españoles y los lasquenetes alemanes.
Great song and your reaktion is great too. No its not the right video. The correkt One is about the Swiss guard during the sacking of Rome. This video was taken from the Arn tempelriddaren movies wich är Swedish too.
History taught through Heavy Metal there's no other band that does better than Sabaton
Crusader is the word you're looking for.
She was almost certainly specifically trying to recall the Knights Templar
They backup singers are friends an family.....No choir 😉
templars knight
This song video is actually not really official as it's a combination of the song Sabaton - The Last Stand and elements from the film - Kingdom of Heaven. They work together rather well, but that the source.
Inmate 4859, but before you listen to that song research story behind it it's worth it, because it's about a Hero.
This video version for this song is good, but it is not about the event to which this song relies - the sack of Rome 1527 and the escape of Pope fro it, covered by 189 Swiss soldiers of his guard... This is allmost 600y old history but since THAT event, Pope is ALLWAYS guarded by a unit which is officially named Swiss guard.
Every Sabaton song is like great history lesson... they even have a separate UA-cam channel, called Sabaton history, where they describe the events in more detail...
And if not enough people mentioned it yet, then let's repeat that Floor Jansen from Nightwish is married to Sabaton's drummer (Hannes van Dahl)... in their work "Christmas truce" (which is a MUST, please do the official video version bcse that video if like a professional movie quality with group members playing main roles) you can hear her collaborating :)
Cursing is always good
If you aren't converted to Christianity after hearing this song you are listening too quiet.
I dare say you noticed the Sabaton army invading your comments here, welcome to some of the most active fanbases I know... And by your third or fourth video you will discover we can be a bit defensive of the band and its music. Unfortunately, especially in Europe, any media not showing the National Socialists as pure evil gets accused of supporting their racial and political ideals, and Sabaton often gets bans or censorship because they try to present each part of history as neutrally as possible.
Once again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy the music.
Too bad you didn't watch the actual video, but Kingdom of Heaven is a great movie, not historically accurate, but a great movie on its own.
This song is about the Swiss Guard, a unit that still exists today, and are the personal guard of the Pope. As the song says, in 1527 Rome was sacked by mercenary and protestant forces, the Swiss Guard managed to protect and save the Pope in the instance, losing over 2/3rds of their number in a self-sacrifice that ensured the Swiss Guard would be the permanent personal guard of the Pope to this day.
Deus Vult!
hi Sky ,why apologize for cussing ? and who the fuck made fuck a cuss word ? im glad u enjoyed the video . i llook forward to your next sabaton video .
TempleKnights
um.... 1527 is NOT CRUSADES it was an unpaid army enacting revenge.....some just put footage from various crusader films
Great song, wrong video; this song has nothing to do with the Crusades soooo.... yeah, might want to check out the actual one at some point,
My contribution to the song suggestion is To Hell and Back(Music Video); 40:1 (Live at Woodstock); Final Solution(Live version) and Royal Guard (Music Video)
ah you picked the wrong video as this is a fan made 1 using movie footage about the Crusades (Kingdom of Heaven & Arn the knight Templar) next time make sure it is an official video esp as this 1 covers the wrong time period for the song
I Will apolagize for an inapropriate comment i made weeks or maybe 2 months ago.. :) Keep doing what ur doing miss.
The video here is way WAY wrong for the song, by the way. The vid is a bunch of Crusader stuff in the desert, but the song is the Papal Swiss Guard vs German and Spanish soldiers from the Holy Roman Empire inside the city of Rome. So it should be a bunch of urban fighting with halberds and crazy brightly colored outfits and stuff on both sides (also, guns).
This is the Official Music Video ua-cam.com/video/i9BupglHdtM/v-deo.html
Oh thank you so much!!!!! I appreciate you taking the time to do this!
This is a fan made video that really doesn't go with the song.

Dont think this was done by SABATON. Here is (Official Music Video) SABATON - The Last Stand.
ua-cam.com/video/i9BupglHdtM/v-deo.html
Video has no relation to the song. it is combination of 2 great movies Kingdom of Heaven and swedish 2 part movie Arn the knight Templar
This is a fan-made video that has nothing to do with the lyrics.
The video you watching is misleading. It's made up of clips mainly from the movie kingdom of heaven. However the song is not about the knights Templar but about the Swiss guard. A military unit who act as bodyguards to the pope to this day. The song commemorates an incident during the 30 years war when a Catholic army mutinied over not being paid for a long time and sacked Rome. 189 Swiss Guardsmen died as a rear guard holding back the mutineers buying time for the Pope to be evacuated to a fortress in the city where the rest of the regiment could protect him. Sabaton usually write songs about war from all sides honouring those who showed true courage honour and sacrifice. Because soldiers don't always get to choose which government they serve and shouldn't be ignored because their leaders are evil.
