Companion planting is a smart gardening practice that maximizes the benefits of plant combinations, making the garden more productive and efficient while reducing the need for maintenance. Combine this with space saving vertical gardening and you'll be able to grow more food varieties together. By growing squash vertically, it allows for more efficient use of garden space, creating room for other vegetables, flowers, or herbs. Here are some combinations that you can try in your garden Tomatoes, (Peas, Beans, or Cucumbers), (Basil, Garlic, Onion, or Marigold) Pole Beans, Zucchini and Corn Cabbage, Sage, and cucumbers Peppers, Carrots, and Pole Beans What plant combinations have you been growing together?
It’s something I’ve grown to appreciate too. When I thought about starting to document my garden journey, I thought of leaving the music out. It’s how I walk through the garden with my camera and just let the birds sing. They’re beautiful enough on their own. Music has its place, but I agree with you here. 😊
In May we had such torrential rainfall in Hong Kong that all my pumpkin plants withered and died. I am keeping all my fingers crossed for a successful harvest of your beautiful vegetables! I said it a few times already how much I love your videos but I guess there is no harm done repeating it a few more times. ❤❤❤
Very nice! We currently have luffa, 2 variety of watermelon & sweet potato vines growing up trellises against the fence. The zinnias, wild flowers & gladiolas look great tucked in between them. Happy gardening guys! 🌺👍🏾
The only squash I can't grow vertically is Seminole pumpkin as it sends out roots at every node to keep the vine healthy. But i grew tomatoes with onions, marigolds, mint and basil and i had zero pest problems in the tomatoes
Hmm... You just gave me an idea 💡 I'm using the SFG method in raised beds. I'm using obelisks in some of the squares to support pole beans and did notice that the center of those squares seems "unused." Maybe I can plant a zucchini in the center (under the open obelisk) and get 2-for-1 crops/support... Worth a try! Thanks for stimulating thought.
I'd like to suggest, when you have a plant with a square/mass of roots spread them apart some so that there are loose roots to start well in their new soil...😊
I agree with you. In fact as he pulled the plant out of the pot and just set it in the dirt, all I could think was; "Oh my gosh, why isn't he spreading the roots out?"😁
From my experience and understanding once your plants are raised up off the ground, there is much much fewer pests to be worried about such as squash bugs, and slugs. The biggest problem is anything that will fly into your plant like those dreaded Japanese beetles.🪴🪴
I don't understand why you do all those pots for the bottom layer, that dry out much faster than a raised bed & require much more watering. Way more surface area to dry out, much more elemental waste

Good night. Where do you buy these platers from?
Pumpkins cross pollinate with squash, zucchini or crookneck too close to pumpkins produce squashkins on the pumpkin vines.
Good luck with your garden.
Red & Romaine Lettuce & tomato plant. With our 95 degree heat the lettuce has bolted. 😢 Tomato doing well and I will now look for marigolds…
Thank you for including the plants in the comments too.
Thank you for your calm voice and lack of music.

Love your videos, your the only person who gets straight into it and instead of introducing themselves and their whole life story and animals.

I’m excited to see how you train the plants and support the larger fruits. Vertical growing is a goal of mine.
Me too😊
This is awesome! So many people can make use of this info to grow healthy, fresh food in small yards.

Absolute perfection! Love how your garden is so very well thought out and organized. #goals
Your vids blow my mind! Things i have never thought of like planting flowers near by to encourage more pollination!❤
And marigolds specifically keep insect pests away from tomatoes. In fact, one of the major pesticides was first isolated from marigolds!
I need that wall trellis!
Love the natural design.
I think that's a very good idea. I think you will have great harvest from this way of planting 😊
amazing how all is vibrant green lacking dry brown leaves ❤
Good luck! Your garden looks absolutely lovely! 😍

What size grow bags are you using and what kind of soil are you using?
Just had a storm now. And has overflooded my house. While sitting on my floating couch, do I still need to water the plants?
What are the round planting containers you are using? Are they plastic trash cans, or some type of special gardening bin? Thanks!
I've always wondered, what do you do with all those veggies ? do you sell them at a farmers market ?
Trying to get interesting stuff on my fyp
How do you get the fruit that grows between the fence and support?
Team ❤
Where do you purchase your grow bags?.
Where do you buy your large planters?
👍🏾🌱
What grow pots are you using?
What about slug? How do you control them?

Is it too late to grow these vegetables vertically in planters along a trellis?? Salamat. 🙏🏻
Hi.
Can Iask where you buy fabric basket, seeds,? What soil do you buy?
Red curry? What is that like...thanks for sharing
Red "kuri" Google it.
Red kuri squash. It is delicious and a sweeter variety. The only one that I’ve had any luck growing.
Do u plant anything in the ground or only containers
How many gallons r the containers?
let your Zucchini, Pumpkins and Cucumbers crawl up the fence - we do
No regular melons?
Did you just pick up the black bucket and carry it across the yard ? While the wheelbarrow has a wheels 😮😂😂😂
Those are huge grow bags

Where do you grow your weed??? 😂🤔😉
Low your channel!
Don’t quote me on this but I heard those cloth containers leech chemicals. I wouldn’t doubt it
Hi ❤❤❤❤
How do you keep the squash moth from laying eggs ? I have planted squash 2 times and they get the worm that eats the squash form inside 🥲
