EvaMarieHamilton I was straight up complaining about this before I watched it. Like your have to follow the directions to a T, if you want it to come out right.
ThuThaoN not to mention she added too much water. that's why it was fizzing. you only have to barely spritz it if its too dry. she had play doh consistency practically
Bronwyn Fairchild yes that is true but if your trying to imitate the ball that is right next to you wouldn't you want to add more color to it to make it somewhat the same? It was a nice try but she could of done more research for it.
As a Lush employee, this was embarrassing to watch.. Although the fact that you got the shape of the bath bomb to hold without it drying was somewhat impressive. A half assed job (not enough colour, not hand mixed nearly enough, random soap product, random fragrances, and not even an hour in a slightly heated room to let it dry so it can harden) will give you that half assed bath bomb.
thisisAB I actually agree. Because I make bath bombs & they fiz & does great. You gotta do your research & yes it's trial & error sometimes, but if your going to do a video do some real research. I mean you're right 1st off she did a complicated recipe for a beginner. You start simple so your not wasting money, you definitely let them harden over night or longer. I do 48 hours. I could say so much more.. the fact that a Lush employee is commenting is great bc most companies would be happy she made this video bc it made lush look awesome ( which I love lush anyhow) & you could've said yeah go buy lush. I'm not a mean person but this video was a mess and do it right at least. I'm glad so many seen that she didn't try. Thanks Lush employee 😊
amal zuhair same I never take baths I'm a very competitive person so I train to win lots of things so I don't have the time to sit down and rest while cleansing myself I have to train whilst cleaning myself. #multitasking oh yeah and btw I know it's for fun but when I grow up (I'm 13) I want to be a pro at running, soccer, dance, figure skating, etc. I do lots of sports.
With those pale colours, did you really expect it to colour the water like the Lush bomb did? I don't know how long you let it dry, either. The mixture also looked too wet. I've made bath bombs and I don't buy Lush's anymore.
I once went to a birthday party at lush and we got to make our own lavender "little robot" bath bomb and it was relatively simple, I guess you just need the right ingredients :p
K G bruh she didnt. they should use coconut oil instead of water and honestly it takes a couple recipes and try to find one you like. they really didn't try
Buzzfeed Writers: "Ok guys we need a new show. Something like man vs pin.." "Jack I have an idea.. D-I-TRY!" "HAROLD! You're a genius, we have our new show!"
I make bath bombs on the regular. She not only didn't add enough coloring, but as she guessed, she added a LOT of water. If you feel you've added too much water, let it stay out in half the mold for maybe a day or two in order to try and air it out. In her case, she might've been unable to air that out. Also, LUSH bath bombs are going to be better regardless, as they use different pigments and more "quality" ingredients than the ones you'd be able to get at a store. Either way, this video didn't really show how good a homemade bathbomb can be.
She messed up the diy so bad, didn't add enough color, didn't stuff the mold completely, and wasn't patient and didn't wait for the bath bomb to completely dry before taking it out of the mold
She's should've added more color so it was more pigmented, and she needed to wait at least 24 hours for it to dry... But I still like to buy the real bath bombs rather that diy bath bombs
TheGirlThatUses UA-cam I have tried to make bath bombs before and the looked exactly the same when u put it in the water and it only about $10 Canadian and I make four of them
Devon Kinney well in my world or from my eyes, I see youtubers doing ads or commercials all the time WITHOUT stating its an ad or commercial. I know the youtube rules but eh. if youtube can't prove its a commercial or ad, they can't get in trouble for it.
a better recipe is: Baking soda Epsom salt, or normal salt mix lemon juice and water (and coloring if you want) Slowly add the lemon juice water to the salt and baking soda until it is moldable. then put it in a mold (You can use an easter egg, circle thing, whatever) and then put it in the freezer for an hour
ridiculous recipe. that will not work. if you say you have made this recipe and it did then you are lying. baking soda and citric acid make the bb fizz when it hits water. lemon will just fizz the baking soda. plus all that are using water are wrong too.
I DIY mine, and your recipe is seriously flawed, lol. You need baking soda, citric acid, corn starch, epsom salts, essential oils, fragrance oils, kaolin clay, witch hazel and polysorbate 80. If you're going to do something DIY, make sure to do ALL the research on your ingredients and WHY each one is needed and in what quantity to make the perfect bath bomb. For example: No fizz/foam bc you are missing the poly. Pale watery color bc you needed MORE colorant...toss the soap dye...wilton food dye gel is perfect. Kaolin clay makes it harden like a rock and it needs to set at LEAST overnight.
You need baking soda, epsom salt,, corn starch, corn flour, hemp seed oil, essential oils, fragrance oils, eye of newt, clay from the bottom of the sea, snail enzymes, absinthe, ky jelly, gelatin, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, hydrofluoric acid, citric acid, and food coloring. Mix together in a polytetrafluoroethylene tub and call it good! SIMPLE! Fast! FUN! And above all else.... EASY!!!! (y)
If you go to lush, they won't. The reason the bath bomb stained her skin was because it was put into a very small amount of water, so it was very concentrated. I have tried almost all the bath products from lush, and I've never come across staining.
When I make bath bombs I personally use citric acid, baking soda, and Witch's Hazel. I also use essential oils instead of fragrance oils because they have good properties to them. I mix the citric acid, baking soda, and oil together, then spritz the witch's hazel until it starts to get clumpy. After putting it in the mold, since I have enough I have them sit in the mold overnight. They'll be given plenty of time to harden, and they keep their shape better. But there's like a million recipes for these and they can be a pain to make.
I love how people do such a half assed job and then wonder why it doesn't turn out
THIS!! It annoys me so much when people try to do DIYs and then complain about why it doesn't turn out the same....

Bronwyn Fairchild yes that is true but if your trying to imitate the ball that is right next to you wouldn't you want to add more color to it to make it somewhat the same? It was a nice try but she could of done more research for it.
ofcourse it's not going to be as colorful if you add way less coloring

she put like no coloring in the mix, so obviously it wasn't going to turn out as good as the lush bath bomb

If you add the amount of coloring they added it would stain the our skin or the bathtub

Kayla Ray I agree if anything she should have added more dye to her bath bomb
Lush bath bombs are made by hand so...surely it should be relatively simple to make them at home?
yeah you should watch theyre youtube videos - so much stuff goes into those things
u did it wrong your leave it on the table for 5 hours or in the freezer for 1 hour dummy
the sugar scrubs tho, caster sugar, oil idk i use vegetable, food colouring and flavouring. cheaper and practically the same thing
I once went to a birthday party at lush and we got to make our own lavender "little robot" bath bomb and it was relatively simple, I guess you just need the right ingredients :p
Akendrick945 not really they still go through processing the lush bathbomb

she didn't let it dry and she did add enough dye soooo XD i don't think she rly is

what recipe did you use?
I think she just needed way more color added the lush one was way more pigmented if it had more color probably would have worked better.
i don't think you did it right.....
no kidding
K G bruh she didnt. they should use coconut oil instead of water and honestly it takes a couple recipes and try to find one you like. they really didn't try

Lol this was recommended after I watched a Corinne vs pin video
She kinda half-assed the DIY project, so no wonder it looked like it did.
Why do I have a feeling she filmed this alone
I hate when people drop the bombs really high in the air and it hits the bottom really hard.
hannah stevens ya no wonder the diy one broke! And no wonder it splashed in ur face!

you didn't let it harden also use gel food colouring to get a brighter colour 👍
That moment when you realize Rob did better (Rob Czar from Threadbanger)
It wouldn't be difficult. Rob blew off his arm for his craft :D
It was fake
She messed up the diy so bad, didn't add enough color, didn't stuff the mold completely, and wasn't patient and didn't wait for the bath bomb to completely dry before taking it out of the mold
When did Rob transition to a women in this Man Vs Pin?
Danni lol no this woman half assed 100%. She didn't add nearly enough colour, too much water, and didn't let it dry at least overnight
Danni but she didnt curse 😂

She's should've added more color so it was more pigmented, and she needed to wait at least 24 hours for it to dry... But I still like to buy the real bath bombs rather that diy bath bombs

I love how they do a terrible job then wonder why it doesn't work
1. You didn't add enough color
2. You're supposed to let it sit in the mold for 24 hours
Finally! I found something to watch 💛 Like i can watch more of this!

You need to let it set overnight to harden
I LOVED THE DIY ONE. SOOO PASTEL-ISHH
"I axsed you guys" 🤣😂😀🙂😕🙁😖🔫⚰️
I literally go into lush and spend $300+ every time, it NEVER fails. My photograph should be on their wall 😂😂😩💕
The DIY bath bomb was basically 100% baking soda and citric acid. How is this even a contest?
The lush looks so pretty on the top with all those colours
the money used on this video could have been used to create another *eating out cheap vs expensive* video!!
You didn't put in enough color!!
My mom would just yell at me for wasting baking soda and stuff lmao
lol same
Did they attempt to cover up the arm &a hammer logo and fouled horribly?
Ashlin Gunderson 😂😂I just noticed they covered it up
Ashlin Gunderson it says arm and hammer right above the sheer piece of paper
I noticed that fail too 😂 The logo is visible through the paper too depending on how bright your screen is
Ashlin Gunderson yeah because they're so overly careful about copyrighting
Buzz feed should Definitly do more of these videos, like DIY 'something' versus actual 'something'
Is this an advert for lush lol 😂😂😂
That's what I always thought...This Buzzfeed DIY or DY-BUY brought to you by LUSH!
Absolutely
she barely added any color lol
This is simple chemistry, add more color it takes a long time.
I got a lush bath bomb for my birthday it was a teddy bear and it made my skin feel really soft
Laura Reid Butterbear! it's my favourite 😊
Expectations vs reality is real here😂😂
I will love LUSH forever!
You're supposed to let it dry for like 2 days
1 day actually
3:22 omfg that was giving me serious trypophobia
i wanna buy a colorful bath bomb but im afraid it's gonna stain my skin lol
If you go to lush, they won't. The reason the bath bomb stained her skin was because it was put into a very small amount of water, so it was very concentrated. I have tried almost all the bath products from lush, and I've never come across staining.
LUSH bombs won't stain the skin in the tub! She's got it much more concentrated than it was intended to be hence the stain of her hands
thanks guys! ! nd thanks for not being rude about answering my question'! happy new yearss 💕
Melany Mendez yup if you use say food coloring it can stain. I actually get my coloring powder from the U.K. And it never stains. So fun making BB's!
Melany Mendez just a tip. Rinse out the tub after you bathe bc if it is very colorful it might stain your tub(not very much just a tad bit of color)

*you dropped the bomb* on Facebook makes bath bombs and other shower goodies for way less than lush and they're not only amazing but really cute too.
You need to get Corrine on for Corrine vs Pin, jeez
Ugh it would be a dream to work for buzzfeed 😍

I've made bath bombs. It's so easy. Mine all contained epson salt and cornstarch and flower petals. ❤️
I used the same lush bath bomb a few hours ago!! in love with it :)
You're meant to let the a freshly made bath bomb dry out overnight, BuzzFeed please employ people with common sense.
You can't pour the liquid in that much all at once bc it will react with the citric acid and baking Soda and it won't fizz enough
why didn't they have the OTHER Ashley
Chloe Hom exactly what I was thinking lol
Chloe Hom gosh Buzzfeed is more than just Jen and Ashley
Selenator you right, Saf too
I made one and it waited amazingly and the bath turned all pink and swirly and it smelt really nice
