- My first impressions of Colombo were pretty up there compared to other countries I've been to. Exploring the centre part of the city we saw the Biera Lake and the temple in the middle. Just walking around was pretty fun and even better in the sun.

gangarama temple is a mix of almost all buddhist traditions in the world , various buddhists around the world gifting various things to this temple and they keep all those as monuments relics statues in the temple premises , and sri lankans love chineses and their culture
Sri Lanka is very safe unless some cringey touts, of course petty crimes occur, but much safer than other countries

That lake stinks because there's an algae overgrowth(and some people throw rubbish to it) so those purifiers are for cleaning the water.

not that much , and I saw in news curruntly SL gvmnt is keep changing the color of the water of this lake from green to crystel clear with Japanese technology and with the support of japanese , within 6 months

So cheap skate. You go to the Ministry Of Crab to eat, one of the most expensive restaurants in Colombo yet you refuse to pay Rps 500 ($1.50) for a ride there. Don't you know what Sri Lankans have been through in the last few years? That 500 would put food on that driver's table.
