- We travelled all the way to Pitas, Sabah to ask Veveonah Mosibin about how her own viral video resulted in the attention of corporations, media and the government. It even resulted to an upgrade of the internet centre closest to her village.
Veveonah climbed hills and trees to get the best mobile connection, but did she really need to? Was it all just for show?

Kadang2 kawasan berdekatan bandar Tawau, Sabah pun masih susah internet connection 😂 apatah lagi pendalaman.. think about it...

There are some part of sabah area are not always have electricity all the time, sometimes it happen to be blackout 2-3 times in a day. I went to Pagalungan in 2017, their electicity will only can be use at night, the whole day without electric and only celcom call & sms works, internet all other network none. Most of them are using normal old nokia hp for calling and sms service only.
Congratulations Veveonah, you did the right things helping many others in distress on wifi issues. You are a hero, should join party Warisan, sure win.
We take so many things for granted and yet in 2020 we have people like Veveonah who have no/little internet connectivity , proper electricity or clean water. Great video Dza, Ray and SoyaCincau team. Hope this brings positive change to communities like Veveonah’s.
I like her. Knowing she have efforts to speak English. Nevertheless, she able to overcomes things on her ways. Excellent and keep it up

Best of luck adik and May you and your villagers get the long awaited development not only internet access but so much more. But a word of caution, pace and make sure the development is tailored to what your people need and are prepared to accept. Not development that is in the interest of outsiders with personal agendas.

Saw you guys on Veveonah's channel and have been anticipating this video. I was surprised the SoyaCincau crew had venture with her that day.
Oh man, this video is amazing. So many info. Such a good host. Such emphasis on the matter. Hopefully this will give a better insight on the situation in rural areas as well as the gap on internet provided. Hopefully, this country will be in good hands.

Tidak hairan jika ditempat tinggal Vevona keadaan seperti itu, ditempat saya Tanjong Karang Selangor yg hanya 2 km dari telco tower yg terdekat pun signal internetnya selalu mengecewakan...Ada 5 saat loading 10 saat...
Good and interesting video. Been to Sabah, and seen first hand the hardship, rough and tough life of the rural villagers. Good thing she made the videos, else the government and organisations won't do anything, and keep a blind eye after elections or any populist agenda.

Sabah and Sarawak has a lot of places like this. No phone reception at all. Been traveling a lot doing some works with the locals. In order to send in report sometimes have to walk high up just to make 1 phone call or a text

fahami maksud internet yg betul. Capaian internet yg baik memerlukan cable telepon atau memerlukan station pemancar. Cable telepon dibekalkan oleh Telekom, cable di tarik dari node terdekat. Hanya untuk membekalkan satu telepon point kepada penduduk yg hanya dua org, dgn kos RM3 juta, agak2 bila TM boleh dapat Return of Investment. Begitu juga keperluan jika penyedia VPN Telepon tanpa wayar iaitu satu sistem pemancar. Penyenggaraan perlu dibuat untuk memastikan setiap peralatan sama ada pemancar atau cable berfungsi dgn baik setiap bulan atau setiap tiga bulan. Kos ke sana sini dari satu lokasi ke lokasi pemancar dan alat yg perlu dibawa untuk membuat senggaraan satu faktor yg perlu diambil kira. Jalan raya merupakan infrastruktur yg paling utama.
Sebab tu lah kerajaan terpaksa mengubah anak2 miskin dan kawasan miskin yg tidak ada infrastruktur yg baik, dimasukkan ke asrama dan beberapa sekolah disatukan. Ini lah juga punca kenapa sukar doktor untuk ditempatkan di kawasan tertentu walaupun org yg penduduknya tidak ramai juga tidak terhindar dari sakit.
Apa pun yg saya mahu kata, bukan internet yg perlu didahulukan bagi kawasan terpencil. Patutnya infrastruktur seperti jalan dan pengangkutan moden yg perlu didahulukan. Oleh itu jangan mengharap internet yg baik selagi infrastruktur yg baik masih tidak diwujudkan

Malaysian especially Sabahan now should think deeply who we want to be our government. It had been years and decades that rural area are still undeveloped under BN rules so far, so long. PH short period in their administrative power had made changes that previous government failed to do so for so many years, I wonder if PH are still in power more improvement would had been in place.
Therefore Sabahan need to be smart to decide who to elect this round and in general Malaysian should realised now who should we vote back into power if we want a better future

What so special about climbing tree for signal. Here semenanjung many places also also no signal.
Well.. it's not 'bout climbing tree. It's her determination of studying albeit having a slow connection. Most students would probably take connection problems as an excuses... but Veveonah are willing to hike and stay on top of the tree for a day for the sake of her future. Not all people have this kind of determination you know...
Whether this poor Tombonuo girl sat for her exam on tree or not is not important, the real issue is Sabah is behind and not getting help at all to catch up with the rest of Malaysians out there. We need funds to develop Sabah and we can do it using our own oil revenues that were taken away by greedy outsiders within Malaysia!!

I never complain, i need to pay internet myself to do all the government jobs on my laptop, need to buy internet to do all the jobs on my phone too, buy my own printer and ink to print and do all the government job functions, the internet is extremely slow although pay rm160, for house and rm60.to use internet on phone
