I'm about 100km from Portland. Get some great seafood here. I don't fish much anymore but am a regular customer at the seafood outlet here. I got my Xmas crayfish this year, it's a bit unusual. a 1.3 kg tropical lobster, doesn't look like a Western Australian one. I'm wondering if it came from the University of Tasmania rock lobster aquaculture project.
Hi. Great video. Can you describe the setup of your drift anchor? Brand? Material of rope? Configuration? Length of rope? Size / volume of drift anchor? I notice one of the ropes had a loop with the other rope sliding inside this loop, etc. Can you describe this configuration? Why choice to tie from stern and not from other parts of boat? Thank you Cameron
Gday mate .. great questions . I use a para anchor made in Tasmania. I have it bridled to the stern of the boat because when I drift the lines trail out the back of the boat and not under the boat and the line doesn't rub on the sides. The Para Anchor comes with all the ropes except the bridle. I have the bridle connected to the gunnel on each side then they join about 1.5 meters behind the motor and the the rope the to the parachute is about 13 meters long.. I Actually got a new one for Christmas which has a trip line that is connected to the rear of the parachute so you can empty the Shute before pulling it in. The new one is suited to boats 6 meters and my boat is 5.5 so it should work well. I am planning on talking about the new one and how I use it in the next video I make ... cheers .. thanks for watching
@@reltonsfishing81 many thanks for reply. Can you forward me the web link for this new drift anchor you just got for Xmas? I have the 670C Bar Crusher. What size drift anchor do you recommend I use using the brand of anchor you use? What size thickness and type of rope do you use for this drift anchor?
Rope will come provided and you will order the parachute that suites your boat .. my boat is 5.5 meters so I got the one suited for boats up to 6 meters .. I got the fisherman 4 you would need the fisherman 5 .. adventuresafety.com.au/most-searched/para-anchor-fisherman-series-and-inwater-kit/

Gday, they are usually caught locally and are fresh off the boats.. unless things have changed
Yeah, this isn't a southern one, not sure where it came from, I should have asked, it was from a reputable seafood wholesaler.@@reltonsfishing81
