It's not being toxic, everyone has different opinion and someone might prefer these people's movements. It doesn't mean that original one is worse but it' just that they 'prefer' this one.
I don't think it's considered toxic. A lot of people like this version more than the original. It's simply a preference and no one ever said the original was bad so I don't see why you think people are being toxic because of their opinion
