I made this video because I LOVE K-pop AND J-pop, I think both are amazing and unique.
It was HARD finding good videos copyright-free and that's why sadly some videos don't have high quality.
But it's SO SAD seeing how many ROUDE PEOPLE there are out there and it is even more sad seeing that those are mostly korean and K-pop fans....why? I love Korea so much...it is just..sad.....

At first, they were fake news that started in some online right wing of Japan, but now they are easy to hear in Japanese broadcasting. That's why many Korean K-pop fans don't feel good about J-pop.

@@noinstein7041 패션업계는 내가 전문가가 아니니 모르겠지만 일반인이나 연예계 쪽 패션은 우리나라가 훨 낫다고 봐요. 전세계 명품 브랜드들이 앞다퉈 한국 아이돌에게 협찬해주는 거 보면 잘 알죠. 그만큼 우리나라 아이돌이 입은 게 홍보가 된다는 거고, 입혀놓으면 누구나 사고 싶을 만큼 멋지게 소화해주니까요. 협찬 아니고 사복으로 입어도 수시로 완판될 정도로 다들 패션 센스가 좋기도 하고.

Kpop attracts western audiences because Kpop has western features. While Jpop is catching up with the trend and topping the charts every day because of its catchy music, Jpop still retains its Japanese features. It's not strange when someone says Jpop music is very "distinct" and "unique".

I grew up with Japanese music in general, and love most japanese music. But when it comes to KPOP and JPOP,
I would choose KPOP simply because it feels more mature.

With J-Pop, you could tell there's minimal Westernized appeals compared to K-Pop where there are aspects in the rhythm and sound effects that are up to a Western Standard in Pop/Idol Group Genres. Based on my observations, it seems that K-Pop Groups utilize more Western Style Beats, Lyrics, Bass, etc. with their music while J-Pop Groups have their own style such as clothing, having less than 30% English Lyrics in songs, etc. For me, they are in completely different leagues and to an extent, should not really be compared & contrasted so drastically.
I still don't get why japanese male band Arashi released a new song composed by Bruno Mars, i liked it better when they sticked to their uniqueness in sound. Now they sing in broken pronunciation and they also hired foreign choreographer to dance like gen z idols. Imma guess, they may have been wishing to join the bigger league which doesn't start with predominant letters like j or k. Once ppl see the artist from where groups of majority generally don't give a shit can be successfully done with their career, other ppl from similar situation also give it a try to sell their products for farther markets outside with better prices. But the thing is who starts to be getting attention and in the end to acquire the fame, pass that point there's not much left for the followers. Anyways the most famous Japanese girl group AK48's members participated Korean tv show which purposed to produce new k pop styled girl group. They were retrained with Korean style vocalism, choreography and had painful time bc it's so much harder than Japanese. K pop on trend means to suggests the new idea that pop artists can be produced with long term and intensive training under the institution like the other classic musicians do. There are so many differences in K pop than features from western music by the choreography, narrative music video, social marketing, making of a group and so on. Btw sorry for who gets this offensive, but this so true, google.
@@blerocket4196 I see your points 100%, but they are in different leagues and have set standards tailored to their genre instead of them being ranked on a general music genre specturm. K-Pop is the equivalent to Western Pop with the Asian Culture Twist while J-pop is unique and was roughly inspired by Western Jazz. There's this YT video where Jpop and Jazz are mentioned as some Japanese Music Producers, such as Nakata Yasutaka, first produced Jazzy/Lounge type of J-Music for Capsule. Another one would be Bubble Gum Pop/Dance, too with Perfume and how that genre is in J-Pop/Idol Music.
As for AKB48 going to Korea, they decided to go there and should had some their research/preparation if they wanted to be "competitors" with this Western inspired genre. I'm not supirsed that most didn't meet the K-pop standard at all. Again, different genre with standards tailored for it which vary in levels of how much they emphasize aspects as a performer/J-Idol musician.

So the timing was like after Dynamite got a mega hit, and K-pop being mega popular, Japan was finally trying to follow that trend and trying to be close to the outside of oricon? I dunno, it’s what I see. It used to be a differ genre for sure but Arashi’s new song was def targeting western.

심지어 뮤비와 무대 퍼포먼스 모든것을 관통하는 세계관까지요. 대형기획사가 작가진까지 고용하면서 철저히 컨셉에맞게 구축하죠
뿐만 아니라 앨범제작까지 굉장히 공들여서 하고 있죠. 레드오션이고 경쟁이 심해지다보니 퀄리티가 엄청나게 올라가고 있습니다.

Not going to pick a side but I think both sides are fairly good. For me I believe J-pop is all about having fun, interacting with fan, and putting on a good performance. K-pop has incredible vocal and dance performances, memorable moments caught on camera, and know how to get the crowds attention. Both genre may have slight advantage over the other so I'm just gonna stay neutral on this. Don't hate me please. Not trying to offend anyone.
J-pop also use less playback. I'm not saying that K-pop idols sing only in playback, but I'm saying that they are using it a little bit more.

You should sample girl groups that don't only belong to ldh or 48 46, there should be morning musume, super girls etc, because jpop idol is not limited to 48 46 g or ldh

There are lots of JPOP that is consist of ENG lyrics. But it was just that. Of course eng lyrics take important place to be spread in the word, however, first of all, the song and singer's capicity are utmost requirement. Actually, Kpop is mainly consist of korean language and secondarily English. This was even larger before 2015~2016 maybe. It's explicit that kpop is muuch better than jpop... objectively...
Me personally, when it comes to like performing I would choose kpop but for concert I would choose Jpop. Jpop concerts are phenomenal, like you will really get empowered. ( Try checking out one ok rock)

Certainly K-Pop gained its world wide popularity with music, styling and unique dance moves. But J-Pop offered more varieties in terms of music genre. Such as Rock, Hip-hop, Indies, Jazz and etc. I can safely say in terms of idol culture, K-Pop offers and delivers high quality music and idols. But lacks in diversities like J-Pop.
I am Korean and I speak without prejudice against neither K-Pop or J-Pop.

I think I'll go with K-pop, since I casually listen to them occassionally and bc they're just everywhere it's infectious.
J-pop on the other hand, I just mostly listen to anime songs. I only know AKB48.
I'm both a Kpop stan & Jpop wota and here's my cent, Keyakizaka46 was into performance art than being a normal idol group. Their live performances differed from each other so there was an element of mystery on what's they're going to do next, and they're more interested in expressing the message of the song instead of fixing their hair to look pretty on camera. Fixing your hair while performing is a big no in Keyaki even now that they're Sakurazaka46, they're still applying it. Fixing your hair in some kind is like disrespecting the crowd that was there to watch you perform on stage and not just watching your pretty face. And I will say it again, Keyakizaka46 wasn't an idol group but a performance group w/ theatrical like concept.

Personally i prefer jpop
I love every single part of it, idols, soloist, bands, artist groups, rappers, everything. And personally i have no idea why. It appeal to me way more than kpop did. One thing i noticed is when i'm hearing jpop songs, i can feel and understand the message although i can't speak japanese. It didn't really happen when i'm hearing kpop. But what i know is both are amazing in their own ways. So why not enjoy both?
Singer should sing well. However, Jpop idols are not good at singing and dancing compared to Kpop idols. Regardless of impressions, singing and dancing skills are most important.
@@bariforever3611 jpop idols and kpop idols systems are different. You can't really compare them like that. For kpop, the idols NEED to be perfect in dancing, looks, singing, body figure , e.t.c. they focuses on these too much to the point that i felt like new groups that came out are manufactured dolls which is sad. This is why i prefer 1st and 2nd gen Kpop. But that's just how i felt. Jpop idol system however does not requires you to be a perfect human. Having flaws are normal because they are just like us, humans. And also, in Japan's idol industry, the systems are different between groups. There are groups that prioritizes talents over everything (Hello! Project groups, Johnny's). Acts under these companies are usually great at dancing and singing, there are groups that focuses on starting from just a normal girl to superstar while fans watch them struggle and support them all the way (AKB48, Nogizaka46 and their sister groups). Idols like this are often not that good at singing and dancing but they usually have other specialties in the entertainment industries such as acting, commercials, MCs, Comedy, Variety and more. There are also normal vocal dance groups/soloist who are not considered as idols but are considered as artists such as EXILE, Bullet Train, Daichi Miura, Amiro Namie, 3JSB, Generations, E-Girls, e.t.c. So basically, people's usual view of j-idols not good in singing and dancing are not 100℅ true. Even if it is, doesn't mean one is better than the other because idol system in both countries are different and it's hard to compare both. For me personally, i want to enjoy both because each have their own strength and one have the specialties that the other doesn't have. The End. Sorry if this came out long

As a fan of Kpop, there is a few misunderstanding regarding Kpop Lives music...
Yes, there are some group that use backtrack but it just for some performance. But, even though they use backtrack they still singing it live...Also they also sometimes pre-recorded live which is a audio recorded from their previous live music show...
In Kpop, especially SM Entertainment, during the first week of promotion their artist usually focuses more on the dance so they might lip sync it, but from the 2nd week until the end of the promotion period, they did it live as they focused more on the singing part.
Before attacking Kpop, and saying lots of bad stuff, please do your research and educate yourself.
Also unlike Jpop Fans, some Kpop fans really have a VERY VERY HIGH EXPECTATION on the idol to performed completely flawless...So, if the idol voice crack, or they did not sound stable when dancing and singing at the same time, some fans will drag their idol and bash the idol. Thats why to have a completely raw vocal in Kpop is hard.
I also really love several Jpop group like V6, Arashi, Bananalemon, D-Dates, Exile Tribe and Faky...
And I hope both Kpop and Jpop fans will stop fighting with each other...

Edit: I forgot to say that in Kpop all of the member have their own solo part and also an highlight part in the song so backtrack might help in doing that. They always sing live for their solo part only certain2 part of the song where the backtrack will help.

KPOP have stunning choreography , rapping skills ( like they r touching the universe which I really love kpop song rappers) and vocals too. We know both kpop and jpop have different concepts to perform on the stage n on mv's too. Each group has different system. Most of LDH groups have vocalists who lead the singing. For 4846g group, the performance mostly leads by the centre, which doesn't have to be the best singer in the groups.

I used to be kpop and kdrama fans .. but since my fav group is not that active anymore which is snsd.. I'm not that interested anymore in Korean intertainment. So I switched to jpop.. I'm a fan of Sakamichi group that consist of Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46, and Hinatazaka46. They're all in the video. My fav is Keyakizaka46 the last one in the video. Now that keyakizaka has changed their name to Sakurazaka46 though. But I still like them the best. This two years though, I got into Izone because they are from Japan Korea program. They are my fav kpop group now. After they disband, I plan to focus solely on jpop. I watched running man though. That's it.

Because standards are differents. Idols in japan are intentionally singers/dancers amateur, they are supposed be "the girl/boy next dorr".
the charm of jpop Idols is follow ordinary girls improve over time, It's why producers choose girls without skill in sing/dance and without training period unlike kpop idols
some groups are more strict than others but their level is generally more low than kpop idols

I've realized the kpop videos have their sounds turned down. Are purposely trying to make jpop look better? I thought it was only for few, but all of them have the sound turned down.
I like Japanese idol girl bands, they are cool and their clothes are beautiful like people playing a marching band in their clothes, I also like Japanese idol girl bands from anime selection project ❤️, But honestly, K-Pop's appearance (you can tell from their clothes, their hair style, also their make-up) is much more up-to-date, too, from taking good and bright pictures, too. But even so the Japanese idol girl band is what I like, why do I only say idol "girl" band, because if it's a boy band I haven't found what I like, I like idol girl bands who dance, I also like those who play music, I like both of them from idol groups who dance like anime selection projects and anime while playing music like banG dream, cool!! I like it very much

As someone who don't listen to both JPOP and KPOP, i must admit that KPOP have better singers, better choreographies, better training and overall better production.
I must even admit that, when you put the two side by side, JPOP look like kids music and have a overall cheaper feel to it.
I'm surprised because the Japanese music i use to listen to are real bangers.
But, utimately, i don't think you can compare both together.
KPOP is a product made to be exported. This is why the KPOP artists are litteraly trained like Spartans to compete with the international scene.
JPOP seem to have a more funny and light-hearthed approach. And even if this make the final product less polished, i don't think i disagree with this attitude at all.
And i can't close my eyes on the poor treatment KPOP artists are receiving. Suicide, abuse of power, rape and depression seem to be a common thing in the KPOP industry.
And, as a someone outside the circle, i'm not afraid to say than i hear more bad news than good coming out from this scene.
That doesn't mean the JPOP industry is free of all sins thought.
In the end, the KPOP got better talents but i don't agree with their method at all.
If it was a life of death matter (... as crazy as it sound..), i would rather choose to support the JPOP industry.
Kpop have rigorious training while Jpop does the "on-the-job training". In terms of singin live, both are good but kpop use backtracks "most of the time" while jpop sing live. Kpop spend more money in production (MVs especially) while jpop don't. I like both but prefer Jpop more in terms of music quality. By quality, I mean the music "styles" and messages of the song because Kpop sometimes sounds the same but again I like both.
And since you said you don't listen to both kpop or jpop, I recommend you to listen to these j artists:
