So glad to see you guys back in your element! Going off the beaten path and experiencing the real Madagascar! I've always found myself fascinated with your interactions with locals. Even though they have so little they seem so welcoming and happy! Everyone you guys passed was smiling and waving! That's exactly why you're my favorite channel on the tube, no touristy attractions on this channel. Just real, genuine connections with special people excited to show you their home. Keep up the great work and awesome content!
Oklahoma Gal here again!! Helloooo!! Always enjoy your.videos!! Your love for other people.. countries.. really touches my heart!! Thank You for sharing your journey with Us All!! Ashley.. honey your such a sweetheart and so wonderful you get to teach your children first hand about other cultures!! I love the way you love people!! Keep on keepin on doing what makes your hearts smile!! Oklahoma loves and always praying for your family as you go on this journey.. May your hearts be filled with everything that makes your heart smile!! 💞💞💞💞
My wife and I enjoy all your videos very much. So good to see your family thriving on the adventures. People, places, so cool. Thanks for another great video. Wish you continuing well being. All the best from Morocco. ✌
Wow...inspite of all odds you guys kept very positive about Madagascar and you got your wish. You guys achieved what you wanted. Amazing. It was so cool hearing Ashley speak French. Come on Ben...bring out your german and french. You can do it
You have such fantastic children ! And for them it is absolutely great to grow up next to their parents and experience the same adventures together ! Thank you! And Lord Jesus Christ bless and protect you on your journeys.
"So cool..." indeed! And I feel very lucky to have been invited to share in the story of your beautiful family and incredible journey, several years ago! You guys represent what I want the rest of the world to think of - when they think of Canadians! Well done! Fair winds and following seas! With love from BC.
It's awesome to see you all out exploring again! Thank you for sharing your Madagascar experience. I hope you're having an awesome time wherever you are now. Much love.
Amazing video!! And the babies are getting so big! Trust me when I say enjoy every minute, even the tough times… my kids are 25,17, & 15 and I blinked and am here. All those sleepless nights and long days & me being the center of their world, to teenagers and college. The days past forever but the years fly by! The babies are just absolutely precious ❤
My wife and I travelled around the world in 94-95 and Madagascar was high on the list of countries I wanted to see. For various reasons we never got there. I am so glad I finally get to travel there vicariously through you. Thank you!!
Can't thank you two enough. This week we were riding cruiser bikes from the marina through a really sketchy neighborhood. Tamara said as we were pedaling along.. hey we have to just experience all of this. So we carried on. Smiled, waved, said a solid Canadian Howdy.. and the funny part is.. after we got back to the boat we had both thought of you two at that moment. Getting out of our comfort zones and appreciating a new culture and " the genuine interactions with locals"... your true adventurers and great role models for all of us! Cheers you guys! 🤙🇨🇦🍻
Madagaskar, such a beautiful place. The people were wonderful and seemed content with what they have. Is French the native language there? Your French is good, Ashley. The kids are getting big! That shot of them looking into the hut in the village was priceless! Willa's hair is getting long! Fair winds and see you guys next week. ❤️
Inspirational as always. Even though I dream nightly of cruising the world I never give much thoughts to interacting with locals. Not going to lie the language barrier gives me anxiety and I'm still several years away from casting off.
If you ever get to Mombasa, you can visit Fort Jesus, built as a slavery prison by the Portuguese, where people captured or purchased from East African village's were kept before being shipped out to the colony's.. It was finally liberated by the English, who used it to defend the harbour, now a museum, where you can still feel the pain that bleeds from every wall.
The biggest hurdle in visiting places is not the language, it is the least and you know that. But I understand the need for sponsorship. Yours is the best channel of its category out there.
I hope alot of young people of Canada and the USA see your videos so they can understand how grateful they should be and count their blessings. This world isn't all about materialism. Thanks for Sharing ❤️ 🙏 stay safe
Great video guys! Really interesting content on a place I know little about. Once again I appreciate how you treat the locals with respect and an honest interest in them and their way of life! 🤗💞
I have been following your journeys from the very start, incredible. I can't wait for you to upload new videos. All the way from Port Elizabeth South Africa, thank you.
Madagascar is magical. in 2008 had 4 months cruising up the west coast from Toliara - terrible holding in the anchorage there, to Nosy B - so beautiful - then we went onto Tanzantia. Madagasies are kind gentle people - even though they are so poor, amazingly wild and soo off the beaten track. loved the markets. thanks for showing how it is today. such a contrast to Mozambique. if you are stopping in Moz be aware, stay safe, bribes will be the daily obsession.... Maybe we see you when you get to Richards Bay SA
And your on a "desert" island at least by Madagascar standards ! When you actually arrive on the Mainland the trees and wildlife will astound you ! The little sail boats are amazing, speeding away with a bed sheet for a sail !
9:13 go back to that village I want to send some supplies. I want to make a difference in this world and one way I can feel good is helping a village. I want to send supplies. Sunglasses, sunscreen, hand lotion, toiletries, medicine, clothing, blankets, etc. I want to help in any way that I can.
Hope you are all doing well... Thank you for all you do for me (everyone)... Amazing life is.. You make me appreciate it.. Peace and love you guys Rolfie
Wowzers, what a wild place what a beautiful place what a sad place.. look beautiful people live there I found myself waving to every boat you passed by at The smiling people waving back at you really beautiful thanks for sharing your lives with us kiss the kitties.... ✌🏼💗😊⛵
So why did the other boats go north instead of south? Was Madagascar not open? Or are the Oceans rougher at the bottom of Africa? Our American prisons are like a luxury hotel compared to that island prison. Thanks for sharing your journey. Blessings!
@@jerrybow8779 Can you find a calm weather window and hug the coast-dock-hug the coast to make it around? Or is safer to go up to the Mediterranean like sailing Zatara?
@@skohaya yea for sure you can get a good weather window and make it around. More likely in summer rather than winter. There’s nothing between Antartica and the bottom of Africa so they get some crazy changeable storms
I like following your trail on Google Earth. The lighthouse and prison are on Isla Lava, according to Google, that is. 125nm south of Nosy Lava. (Just in case others are looking for it, too.) Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
BEN (!!!), try this one to order a beer: "Biru (beer), (pronounced bee-roo - and roll the "R" a little...) te kudasai ( pronounced: teh' koo-dah-sahyee); or more polite/formal: "onigai shimasu" (pronounced oh-nee-gai- shee-mas), to order a beer.....in JAPAN! OK, ok....just trying to help! Aloha 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
After seeing that jail, I stopped to smell the roses and my day got much better. Now my wife is yelling at me to start decorating the Xmas tree. All men on deck. Cheers
Beware of Bassas Da India when sailing South . Inside great diving , outside huge game fish but big sharks - Madagascar only place in the Indian Ocean that has a Pirate Cemetery.
More commentary (😅); when the local people wave at you, I watch and look for the shot of you waving back! Ahhh, the trained for response on UA-cam videos... mind.......Hope that is helpful to your fantastic cinematic talents!!!

I love MADA and the malagasy people. I really enjoyed my time when I was there a decade ago. Such great memories.
Some may say you are very lucky, but in this world, I believe people make their own luck.
All that aside, you certainly lead an envious life. 😍
You are doing a good job, guys! I just want the episodes to be longer. I want MORE! /Catta
Whoa! The drone shots, dude! Sweet!
Hi Guys. Did you notice the Nahoa graffiti on the wall of the Lighthouse Keeper's old house at 7:48?

Lots of local sailors! Thanks for the update…was afraid of multiple weeks without.
Possibly my favorite episode!
The view from the lighthouse... The whole country looks like it has been strip-mined. So sad🥺
Good morning all from Siesta Key Florida

that ship in the first two minutes that you were looking at through the binoculars is unreal, thats insane
You so close to my Home country can’t wait to welcome you !
I would love to get one of the little boats they sail around on, it would be a blast sailing around Lake Michigan with one of them.
Great videos, thanks for sharing
Very interesting and tragic. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing 😊
That's why SV delos spent months there. So did sailings yacht Florence... due to their beauty of the place and the cost of living
Very good very interesting I love watching you😊❤️🇦🇺
The ingenuity of the people there and their sailing boats. ⛵️
7.48 the nahoa grafiti on the wall 🤣
Beautiful local boats! Madagascar is known for it's unique animals. Where are the lemurs?
7:47 u just had to tag nahoa on the wall😁
Of course! (And then casually film it!)
Disappointed
Great video again. Thank

7:47 - what's written on the wall?! Who was a bit cheeky there?
Great video. Thanks. Wow you're from Sidney. I lived there from 2014 to 2019
Just wondering
Nice video 👍🏽👏🏽
The small boat reminds me of Jack Sparrow …😅😂
Great to see you all out and about …
No more boat maintenance repair 😬😬😬😬

Did you guys see the US Air Base with B-52s on it? It is still and there, functional, and being used to provide bomber support for the Middle East.
I think you talking about Diego Garcia, if so, those two islands are about 3,040 km apart.
Best on u tube!!

Whoa that's incredible
I can’t help but have the song Move it Move it while you’re on Madagascar.
@7:00 what had happened to all the trees? Wilf fire? Deforestation?
They probably cut them down for firewood. My guess anyway...
Nice episode this one, (among many others of course) Ashley, tu parles bien francais!
Thank you for sharing
Epic. Thanks.
You guys are awesome
