This was helpful. Thank you. Especially the part about attaching the reservoir to your Orbit irrigation line. I have the same system, so will probably have an irrigation tech do the connecting, but at least I know what to attach the line to now.
Thank you! The company’s installation video doesn’t explain how to end the line. I’m so glad you showed that. After seeing your video I thought “duh, L shaped bracket.” Very helpful video.
Hi - Thank you so much for your video! I learned alot. Can you tell me why it helps to put the Thirsty Earth olla system on a timer? I thought the system was supposed to let the water run from the trough 24/7, and the garden drank what it needed. When using the timer, how many hours a day did you run the water?
You’re welcome and thanks for your comment! There’s a water reservoir that is hooked up to the ollas. It needs to be refilled regularly, so instead of filling it up manually with a hose, we hooked it up to our irrigation system with a timer that runs every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The reservoir has a shutoff valve so it doesn’t overflow after it’s filled up. The timer basically helps keep the reservoir filled up

You’re welcome! We had a tech take care of connecting ours too. You will love having the reservoir refill automatically!
@@EpicDayEveryDay awesome! That's inspiring

Glad to hear it was helpful, and thank you for watching and commenting!
That was a fantastic video.
Thank you!
Good tutorial! Thank you. Can you please tell me why you have the upside down wine bottle?
Why is the wine bottle upside down?
This video was super helpful!

How are the thirsty earth ollas vs the wine bottle ones? Those are a lot less expensive so am wondering how they compare.
The amount of water saturation (or “bloom”) isn’t as deep or wide. We feel the wine bottle ollas are best used for potted plants/vegetables.
