Driving Greece: Kalamata - Areopoli - 4k scenic coastal drive Mani Peninsula

- We are travelling today through the west coast of Mani peninsula in The Peloponnese, between Kalamata, worldwide known for the olives, and the historical town of Areopoli. The coast is very rugged, the road having to climb and descent many hundred meters in altitude, in order to find a way to Areopoli. There are great views along the way, to the seaside and the mountains. Video clips from our walks through Kalamata are also integrated in the video. Enjoy!

It's an wonderful country, this was my 4th time there, enjoyed it a lot every time, and will surely return as there are still many nice places where I have never been. Maybe we will go also together once :)

Hi, glad you enjoyed it! Mani peninsula has a rich history, as it was very inaccesible and very hard to conquer by enemies. The landscape is very rough, with mountains of over 2400m altitude almost directly above the seaside. Was for me a pleasure to be there, done this drive 2 times during my stay in Kalamata.
