Breaking it always seemed more jarring. I probably still wouldn't get it as a kid but the context really cements the crown breaking scene as a perfect juxtaposition to the queen bee
I think with what Regina said it would have looked like she's destroying being prom queen because she didn't want anyone else to be it because she knows it would go sour for her. Without what Regina said it looks like she is destroying the roll because it isn't fair for one person to be crowned when everyone is amazing in their own way. It's more empowering and positive.
I mean i think it'd be more interesting if the video said that the two characters mirror each other, except one causes destruction for her own ego and the other causes destruction for the good of everyone. Regina destroyed people's self esteem in the beginning of the movie, while Cady eventually destroyed the school's entire social hierarchy.
That would only work if she hadn't won prom queen. The point is that she had something she thought she wanted, and was told she should want. But gave it up anyway because she realized she'd rather someone else got to enjoy this anyway. It's exactly what Regina did, but for completely opposite reasons
I always thought that bc she says “its really just plastic, you could just…” and breaks it that she was talking abt breaking up the plastics. Cause at the end she says “in case you were wondering, the plastics broke up” so i thought it was symbolic of the end of the plastics.
I think it was just a parallel to how the plastics are fake and not as untouchable as people think, cuz plastic is easy to break and it’s a fake crown,
It was smart to remove that scene, it would've made Cady seem mean for snapping the crown, saying nobody deserves it because she didn't want it. Calling it 'just plastic' felt like a better message in the context of the movie
The point is the same. Her breaking the crown isnt doing the same as Regina. She breaks it but does something else with it. She isnt destroying it, she multiplying it.

“My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. They’re like, it’s better than yours”
I think why she deleted it was because, the point wasn't to show how cady changed
or how bad is regina george
the point is to show
how different people have their good and bad sides
and why we should own up to our mistakes
the deleted scene kinda justifies
why it was right of cady to turn aaron (regina's boyfriend) against regina
the message turns wrong
that is NOT the point of the film
it is that
we shouldn't do such things
the point is to be less toxic
with the deleted scene it shows how regina is as a person
like she was dating aaron
and she broke up with him because she cheated on him with sharmon
and then when cady came
she got a crush on aaron
who is now regina's ex boyfriend
and suddenly when regina gets to know that cady likes him
she wants him back because
"if it can't be mine, it cannot be anyone else's"
which shows how she is
she sees aaron as a trophey, she sees everything the same way irrespective of living or non living
who was just a random person before cady came, her ex so she cheated on both aaorn and sharmon
so now with the deleted scene
it becomes more clear to how regina is a bad person
and how cady is good
and whatever cady did to regina is justified
ok that was a good scene
but it misses out the point of the entire film
that we all are teengers and make mistakes
the importance of owning up
being the better person
etc
get it?
and it justifies that whatever cady did to regina was right. The message becomes less clear with the scene
