- Well. B´ella is not exactly an Oscar winning movie and has its shortfalls, but it surely gives a powerfull and true mirror to everyday reality of many Malawians.
The assignment, when we were producing B´ella in 2012, was to make a film about young Malawians for young Malawians, so that they can relate their personal lives to the lives of their peers in the film. The film has the ambition to open up discussions about some urgent issues from within Malawian communities, which often are not talked about either because of cultural regulations or simply because of shame.
If you think that B´ella should be screened in Malawian secondary schools, let us know how can you help to revive the "B´ELLA IN SCHOOLS " program, which we implemented in 2016 in 29 Blantyre secondary schools. Each screening of the film was followed by powerful discussions with the students and we believe that for some of them it brought a positive change in their approach to life.
B´ella was screened at several international film festivals
