Musical Monkey is my top pick. Its the first one I heard but also I think this record captures the essence of the band better than any other. Musically and lyrically its just spot on. Classic
Back in the ol' early/mid 90s...when you would see someone wearing a gutter mouth shirt you knew their mentality was different and if it was at a show you knew they were going to be causing trouble with other people lol. They didn't follow or care about what was a considered cool, and I mean that in regards to what was trending cool in the "punk" scene throughout that period. They were quite their own individuals and perhaps the last remnants of an era that saw "punk" more as a persona of individualistic choice making, then what you looked like or actually listened to.Cheers.
Fav's: 1. (surprise muthafuka) Musical Monkey (just a classic of mocking punk rock) ; 2. Eat yer Face; 3. Shave da Planet (this 2 rec's one of the most anarchic calif punk rock ever).
Musical Monkey, Teri Yakimoto and Gorgeous are my favorites. I love the last stuff from the new car smell or the whole enchilada. Mail order bride & A Boy and his love gun are amazing songs! I love all their stuff. Not going to lie I wasn’t happy with Gusto when it first came out. Gusto and shave the planet are the only albums I could do without. Still my favorite punk band
Have you heard The Whole Enchilada yet? Its their latest “album” (it combines their 2 latest EPs plus a live show). Not their best but good and certainly worth checking out if you’re a fan
howdy, being italian and having really learnt english AFTER i already heard about Guttermouth, i don’t 100% agree with this . from the moshpit point of view Friendly People is quite a fat juicy punch in the face! still love all Guttermouth related! he’s an asshole, i’m an asshole, and you’re an asshole!!!!! good times!!!!
gusto is by far my favourite, which for some reason everyone seems to hate. seen them every time theyve toured australia, they stayed at my mates house which was a wild time, saw them from a backyard party to playing to virtually noone at the snow fields, to all being too wasted to play a show which was funny but terrible. id probally rank 1. gusto 2. musical monkey. 3 covered with ants.
The are badass!! I didn’t know the were not leftist, most punk bands are 🤮.i don’t like gusto album that much. Anyway they are a great band and the most unusual band I’ve ever seen
Tom Sklanka oh yeah. Mark Adkins has always been anti Hippie/Communist as far as I can deduce from both talking to him personally and his onstage banter. He’s not afraid of anyone knowing that either🤣
@@jacobreinhart8078 Hippie doesnt do anything with communism/socialism, i would be shocked to the core if Mark after all alco/drugs/pills he took all those years understand the difference, he's not mental like Duane Peters in politics though (at least he wrote Party of 2 - which is summons up pretty good US politics)
I've been listening to them since 1992
do more of these lol this is dooope

I haven't listened to Guttermouth since Gorgeous. I do think they have the ugliest cover art on their albums.
Great video though man
