    I like to try on the items I am buying and check out them carefully if not it is possible will need to take it back at some point ,as I am bit picky or could be a wrong size.
    Sometimes , picking out can be difficult , as thinking they will not go with the old ones.
    they are irritated if you do not buy but just look around at times:-)

    Hi guys. Always so nice to listen to your posts❤.
    Kat, I noticed you don't use the word blouse; is it because you don't wear them often or you call them shirts 🤔

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  2 місяці тому +1

      I think of a blouse as something more formal or frilly for work or a special event, since I’m usually more casual, I often say “a shirt for work” or a more formal “top”. Thanks for your question hope that helps!

    • @user-uz3qq2vd6v
      @user-uz3qq2vd6v 2 місяці тому

      @@highlevellistening Well, what I understand for shirt is just like it says in the dictionary, that's usually made of cotton or a similar fabric, with a collar, sleeves, and buttons down the front (as men's). A blouse, I thought, is more feminine but it can be very casual too. I wish I could insert a picture 😁.
      Maybe you usually wear T-shirts?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  2 місяці тому +1

      I have some nicer tops as well but I think of a blouse as maybe a button down or frilly, so they’re all tops and all shirts but very few are blouses, it just feels more formal for me

    Kat and Mark . Awesome video, again. Thanks so much! As on the topic of today's class, I usually hold my clothing purchases if any, until there´s a special sale. I think the best one in my country (Mexico) is the post Christmas season sale.. Thanks and best wishes.

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  2 місяці тому +1

      Smart! I think it's a great idea to wait until there's a sale or until there's a special discount. If you're patient, it really can save you money! (I'm not very patient, hahaha jajajaja)

    Can we use “pick out” for picking strawberries?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  23 дні тому +1

      Good question.
      For taking fruits and vegetables from trees, from a farm, or from their 'natural place', just say "pick".
      For example: "We went to an orchard and [picked] some apples."
      "I used to love picking strawberries when I was a kid."
      From these sentences I understand you were *not* in a supermarket, you were somewhere where the fruit grew naturally. Hope that makes sense!

    good evening; does "to look around " mean also to FORAGE or TO BROWSE.
    There is an udiom that says" don't buy something before you try it "

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  2 місяці тому +1

      Good questions.
      For shopping, we use: "browse" and "look around."
      For finding food in the woods, like mushrooms or berries, we use "forage." We also use this word for animals when they are looking for food.
      So: "I am looking around in the store." : "I am browsing in the store."
      But: "I am foraging for berries in the woods." : "The bear is foraging for food for her cubs."
      Hope that helps!

    When hearing the phrases
    I won't be long.. sounds like i won't belong... It makes little bit of confusion.. how can I identify when someone says... Kindly Please answer anyone 🙏

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  14 днів тому +1

      Good question. I think this is a case where context helps a lot.
      If you are talking about doing chores, tasks, or keeping a schedule, then I would assume you said: "I won't be long."
      But if we were talking about a party, and maybe you were nervous to attend, I would assume you said: "I won't belong."
      Hope that makes sense!
