Sydney is definitely New York right down to everyone outside of Sydney fucking hating Sydneysiders for being assholes and suits, and Melbourne is like a lot of California rolled into one, being up themselves, hipsters and hippies.
Canberra is indeed just like Ottawa, its made to be a capital and it's boring. If you could give me any stereotype about Brisbane or Perth if be impressed, let alone any other Australian city

Okay, I've figured it out. NL is 100% correct with his US assessment. The Midwest section would just be broken down into small sections that are mostly just like the already notable ones, just less extreme/notable. Examples include: Chicago is Midwest NYC, Denver is Midwest PNW, Hawaii is ocean California, all the states east of Chicago are new England Midwest, all the states south of Ohio are south Midwest, southwest states are California Midwest, all the states east of the Dakotas are Texas Midwest, Alaska is PNW Midwest. The only one that I am having trouble with is the middle Midwest (the states around and including MN). I have home bias since I'm from Minneapolis/St Paul. If I had to put a label on it, north middle Midwest would be California Midwest.

As an Albertan, I want to challenge NL here.
Alberta, alone, is Texas. And a bit of Florida.
    Sask and Manitoba are Idaho.

No way, Sask is 100% Texas. It's comically flat as hell! Also Saskatchewan and Texas share the most similar biomes, and are almost equivalent with mass size on maps.
What I do love though, is that Sask has more counties/municipalities than Texas does, despite having such a significantly smaller population! Idaho only has numbers in the double digits... they could never

This was good, except for calling Arizona and Nevada midwest. We're basically California-lite out here. Just call us California. And you could probably call Oregon and Washington State canada as well

as a midwesterner close to chicago i'm mostly fine with the map but i'd make two changes
i'd make the south extend through arizona and new mexico (not too controversial) and i'd put alaska in the midwest (potentially controversial).
hear me out: it's a cold wasteland where people do a lot of hunting, fishing, and drinking recreationally. that's midwest af

No way in hell is VA in the north east. I live in northern VA and spend a lot of time in upstate NY and the vibes of the two areas are night and day different. And the southern part of VA is even further removed from the north-eastern vibe.
