I admire your talent for balancing the technical and aesthetic sides of plant care and that is very evident in this video. One emphasis should not take precedence over the other for optimal plant care. Plantologist Extraordinaire for sure. Thanks.
Thank you! Taking it day by day with her she’s still not feeling well but little improvement. I might film a couple more repots this week! I got all my soils in 🙌🏼
Great video & inspired me for a lot of plant chores I need to do too. Always relaxing watching repotting videos. Thank you for all the hard work filming & showing us so much.
I love your moss poles. You have inspired me to want to do moss poles again. I love how you extend them and how the growth gets. You are completely moss pole lady goals 😅
Thank you!! I love seeing how big the leaves can get. It's so different compared to just normal size leaves and it's soo rewarding! It's my favorite thing to look at in my plant room!
Your global green looks stunning ❤ I’ve put my N’joy on a moss pole a couple of months back so hopefully this summer it’ll get bigger and bigger leaves 🤞🏼
Thank you!! I have an njoy or pearls n jade haha I’m going to do too! I saw one in person with big leaves and I have to make one now lol. I hope you gets lots of growth this summer!!
I don’t put a lot outside but some of mine had caught thrips and spider mites. 😩 I sprayed and hosed them off before bringing them in but hoping the natural bugs out there will keep pests away. I used captain jacks. I didn’t treat the soil but I’ll definitely do it this year. Maybe a systemic before I bring them in. I’m scared of bringing bugs back in.
I'm so sorry for all my annoying questions but I'm so new in the plant game lol I have a bunch of corms propping and I got that fluval stuff to use for it. and those containers you have from amazing the little plastic ones with all the sections.. I have it sitting in the window NOT EVEN AROUND ANY OTHER PLANTS.... and somehow I think bugs are getting in? I saw some webbing in the fluval... I completely emptied and cleaned it out (wasting the fluval lol) and washed everything and started fresh.. and its still showing webbing. or something on the surface. I'm so confused and don't know what to do. Am I able to spray insecticide on props? I honestly don't know where it's coming from or how they even get in those containers that are shut..
oh nooo, I've never seen any webbing in mine. Do the corms have leaves yet? If they're just the corms still I doubt it would be spider mites or maybe an actual spider got in and had fun in there lol. I had an actual spider spin a bunch of webbing all over my hanging plants in my window before. The insecticide shouldn't harm the plants at all. Usually spider mites like to eat the plant tissue but they're super tiny to see and can produce webbing but they hang out on leaves usually.
@@plantsbymelissa No they don't even have anything growing out of them yet! I had dealt with spider mites on a couple of other plants but I was like how in the world would they find these corms and sneak inside the box. I"m like just getting into plants and already burning out from the spider mites hahahah. I ordered just about all the pest control stuff from your amazon page so I can have options lmao
I usually buy the better gro brand it's the orchid moss. I get it for around $6 at the big box stores. It's not the best quality but for the price you can't beat it. the New Zealand besgrow moss is amazing but more pricey. I've used the supermoss brand too and it's great! www.amazon.com/dp/B00D477CZ2?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B00D477CZ2&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin www.amazon.com/dp/B00BR1B1H2?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B00BR1B1H2&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.27D4Z5CKST4WL&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin
@@plantsbymelissa thanks so much; you have been such a help in my plant journey. I was just at the Philadelphia flower show yesterday & of course I had to buy more plants 🪴😊
Yes, they’re not meant to be watered but they don’t allow roots to grow inside like sphagnum moss. They’re mostly to provide support like a stake would and the roots can still grow onto them but you may not get as big of leaves and have a harder time chopping it if there’s less roots to support all the growth 💚🤗
Ohhhh ok, don’t mind me 😂 I just started my collection in October, don’t know very much but my plants are growing and producing new leaves, and it’s cold and snowy here in Nova Scotia, I read somewhere that plants go dormant in winter, mine didn’t, must be doing something right! Lol , I now have 45 babies😊

So nice of you! Thank you!!
You have maintained the plants beautifully ❤😊
That’s beautiful mg proactive building and extending the pole now instead of waiting and getting them hooked after it’s been too tall for the pole.
I love pulling off the cataphyl.
Enjoyed your video, many thanks. Your El Choco and your Birkin are beautiful! You take such good care of your plants and it shows! Take care. 👌🪴❤️
Thank you so much! 💚🥰
That El Choco! 😍
Thank you! I need to show it more! 💚
@@plantsbymelissa if you show it more that will be yet another plant you make me buy! 😂
Wow to your Birkin! It is perfect and beautiful :)
Thank you! I don’t share it much but soo glad to have it repotted finally ☺️🤗

Im glad Luna is doing better...Great idea this new series...I enjoyed it..

Hope you plant chores went well! Thank you! She's hanging in there. Still has the lameness so we're thinking about taking her to a specialist.
Your philodendron Birkin is beautiful.
Thank you!! 💚💚💚
My favourite time of the day 🥰

As always your plants are gorgeous 😍 Never liked the Birkin too much but yours is stunning. 💚💚💚
Thank you! I think there was a phase for awhile but I don’t really seem too many people with them anymore! 🤗
Do you have any pictures of the retusa? I’d like to see. Mine only had two blooms last year.
I showed in a video but not sure which one now. it was full of blooms!
I love your videos!!!! I learn so much. Thank You 😊
You are so welcome! 🤗
The Philodendron Birmingham is one of the first plants I bought, got her in October, she’s getting really big, I call her Phillis😊
Whoops I mean Birkin
Do you spray anything on your outside plants to keep bugs off, I’m scared to put mine outside!

Is that clear plastic tape the grafting tape you’ve used in the past or something different.
It's the same thank you! I forgot the name :)
I've tried Birkins a couple of times and they keep dying?!

I bought coco coir, I did some research, they say their less work! You don’t have to water them, do you agree?
