Not one of those spiked helmets has its metal "spine" down the back of the helmet crown, and the chin scale chinstraps are also wrong !?!?!? Did the costumers only look at pictures that showed these helmets from the front ?

I guess they ran out of money, because a lot those high ranking officers you see with the Kaiser would have their medals on their uniforms as well as the soldiers standing at attention.

Not so sure about that. Judging by the damaged buildings in the background they were fairly close to the Front, where it was unwise for officers to be too easily identified (for snipers).

It was a TV movie so it didn't have much of a budget but it is still a really good movie if you can look past the small things
